Gearbox tried to sell a game that at first glance looked like a cheaply produced Overwatch, but they wanted the same amount of money for it.
It's basically the same as a store like walmart trying to sell its own brand cola for the same price as Coca Cola or Pepsi instead of much cheaper.
Then after it had been out for a week or two nearly everyone who HAD bought it was leaving in droves because the game had a lot of design problems, like the extremely cluttered HUDs during matches.

The game plays nothing like Overwatch though.

You've been producing nothing but a healthy menu of FPS expansion packs and ports and later alleged Duke Nukem and Alien games for your ENTIRE CAREER coming straight out of the liberal boonies in UCLA. My friend gifted it to me and another two friends got it so we we had a full party and played through the story. It wasn't COMPLETE dog-shit, as some of the levels/characters were fun (Oscar Mike and ISIC) but once you go through everything you really don't feel like playing again.
You can go through as different characters, sure, but so many of the few levels are "ugh THIS fucking stage" that most of the roster can't get through solo.
The dialogue is actual tolerable for the most part, but like I said, after you play the same level over the jokes/quips are very stale with little to no variation.
