Wizard is the best class. Versatility, adaptability, and power all rolled into one.

Beyond that, Hunters/Rangers if there are gunpowder weapons in the game, Warrior otherwise.

Natrual progression of stealth skills.

First you learn to move silently. Then you learn to move silently around others. Then you learn to take stuff off of people silently. Then you learn to cut throats silently.

Any Warrior+Magic hybrid class like Battlemages, Paladins, Dark Knights, whatever.

Necromancers are cool too
