He's gonna fuck it up badly. He's already said he thinks the artstyle of the series holds it back. Basically he wants to strip away something that actually helps the series stand out from other fps titles. I'm sure he's got a bunch of other kooky shit in the works to make this game as terrible as possible.

Pretty sure they're gonna reuse assets and shit from TPS for BL3.

It's gonna make GTA kinds of money and every one of us is gonna buy it.

Yeah that's a huge problem. The pre-sequel was even worse than BL2, and that's saying something. The dialogue was both CONSTANT and ASININE. Really fucking trying so goddamn hard.

Everything about the pre-sequel was intolerable, but 2 had a couple characters that had better playstyles than 1 (sniping was definitely more fun as Zer0 than Mordecai)
