Why do you like this game so much Sup Forums?

why do you like this game so much Sup Forums?

you told me it was good and it fucking sucks

I'm 18 hours in and literally nothing happened plot wise, characters suck a billion dicks, combat system feels like a gimped ffxiv, quests are just random fetches, you can literally never read them since it's pretty much just "gather 12 X" or "kill 3 Y". it just feels like a big offline mmorpg

I mean, I get it's pretty much the only decent jrpg on wii, but still it feels pretty fucking awful

I even bought xenoblade X thinking I'd play em both, but I think I'm done

why the fuck did you tell me it was good

yeah it's only well praised because nintendo fans never play RPGs outside of their systems' librarys

Fuck off cody

Play X

Reddit spacing sucks. Seriously though, you went in trying to compare it to ffxiv and other mmorpgs, which while it has a similar structure, it will never have the character of actual other real players. The quest system is a bit more in-depth than you're giving it credit for. You can influence the relationships of npcs and get better trade items, etc. there is a payoff aside from the quest rewards themselves.
The world is not open-world. This is a common misconception, but it's actually about as linear as you could get, working your way up to the head has only one path, etc. The battle system will get very boring quickly regardless of what you compare it to if you do not regularly use different characters. Use dunban when you want to wreck shit, etc try out some different stuff. I'm about 15 hours in, made it to that monster villiage and I'm still having fun.

x for potato

>tfw xenoblade is possible the best game every made
>tfw replaying it again one year after beating it first
I've never replayed a jrpg but xenoblade chronicles is on another level.
I'm sorry your taste is shit opie

Nopons are literally the best mascot character race in any video game ever. Riki is the best middleaged father character in a game ever.

You're clearly playing XBCX mistakingly believing it was XBC1

>I've never replayed a jrpg but xenoblade chronicles is on another level.
sure does make you an expert, huh

>Riki is the best middleaged father character in a game ever.

elaborate on what you like so much about it and on what you think makes it possibly the best game every made

>tfw this music starts to play
youtube.com/watch?v=FjSx9hux9NA&t=359s

not as good or strong or brave as riki

Can a AMD APU run this game on dolphin?

I'm liking the soundtrack so far, gotta admit

although it feels a little bit too uneven at times, you can literally tell it's different composers at work

I remember seeing Rikki in a trailer before the game released and hating that there would be yet another irritating cute blob mascot character like Chu. What a surprise after having him ingame for a while.

I liked it for the story. If you don't like the sidequests don't go out of your way to complete them. You should be able to complete a few sidequests by chance while ploughing through the main story and not be underleveled.

>18 hours in
>nothing happened
You can be out of Colony 9 in less than 2 hours.

i've got dunban, heading towards someplace through some kind of a light blue swamp

it just doesn't feel like I could ever care for these characters or their motives

Side quests are not really important, activate them and do them only while you explore or you are doing the main quest. Also try switching characters and upgrading skills, that makes gameplay better than going with shulk all the way

>I'm 18 hours in and literally nothing happened plot wise
But Colony 9 gets attacked and Fiora dies in the first 30 minutes.

also, I didn't know about this but if you get the wii u virtual console version you can play directly on the gamepad which makes it all more comfy I guess

yeah cause a token death of a character I didn't even get the chance to know or care about sure makes for an interesting start. don't even get me started on the attacked village trope

If you didn't like Xord you're a monado moron.

youtube.com/watch?v=6Dy74NOzcS8

>yfw first time this played

Seriously don't fucking hover over this shit unless you've beaten the game you dumb faggots
Shulk fucking KILLED Xord
Shulk killed a few mass produced faces, which are actually Homs
Yet Shulk gets asspained when Dunban wants to kill Mumkar

it was funny up until it wasn't

...

>shulk wants to coexist with egil and mumkhar
>shulk wants to kill zanza klaus and dickson

He was a total hypocrite.

tl;dr

you should use reddit spacing kiddo, they i might read your posts

>jump into a deep hole
>this starts to play
youtube.com/watch?v=ooZyHLLQ5e8&t=267s

The game's fucking long and you just left the 2nd tutorial area.

As good as it is, XBC is a snowball rolling down a hill from start to finish. The more you play the more intense it gets and the more you get hooked into it. It does have its share of problems, mostly way too many tedious side quests and fucking gem fusion but those are all absorbed into the greater flow of the game in the long run.

youtube.com/watch?v=tfuoUv5YMN0

it's about the world

fuck is up with these stupid ass names

that's a design problem though, wouldn't you agree? if they want to extend the lenght of the game to a very long time, let's just say 50/60 hours, they should make sure the player is interested in playing for that much time. they can't just give 20 hours of nothing and justify it by passing it as a "tutorial area", it's still 20 hours of boredom

>why arent my fantasy characters named after Christians from the bible?

I mean, if you're not interested by the time dunban joins you I think it's safe to drop it.

Quests become a bit more involved once you begin filling in the Affinity map. The objectives are become more varied and quests become more about helping people in relation to others on the map, like getting two people to become friends or being a match maker, or overcoming grief. The quests are not necessary but are great at fleshing out the NPCs because every single NPC lives out their own lives and have their own goals independent to you. This becomes more noticeable the more side quests you do.

The combat is also a lot of fun once you get more Arts and start mixing up the party structure. You don't have to play as Shulk and you probably shouldn't. If you haven't even been to Satorl Marsh yet then you're still missing out on 3 party members, all of whom are much more interesting than Shulk, Sharla and Reyn. The fact that everyone also has 5 skill trees and a wide variety of rolls they can play means that the combat just gets better overtime.

Basically, you're 18 hours into a 100+ hour game and you aren't even close to scratching the surface of what the game has to offer so at least get Melia as a party member before you start whining about how shallow the combat is.

>A vishun!
>what my friends are being killed in horrible ways?
>whats up shoolk?
>n-nuthin
>oh kay
and repeat for 80 fucking hours

I think it's safe to drop it by the time you're halfway through Gaur Plains if you're not really feeling it.

No, because I enjoyed those 20 hours. Exploring Guar Plains was great and the story was serviceable up to that point. As soon as Dunban joins you're finally able to swap Sharla or Reyn or even Shulk out of the party and start experimenting.

And besides, 20 hours feels like you're dragging your heels more than anything. You should be in Makna Forest 20 hours in and have Riki as a playable character, not just after Colony 6.

>unlocked all 5 of Shulk's trees
>maxed them all out
>use ng+ memnado
>wear Titan armor
I'm really bored of this fucking game and can't wait for 2

but did you beat the superbosses

Yeah
>walking on fallen digit beach
>40 foot tall mechon walking around
>wtf
>get closer
>it's level 105
>one shots Reyn 100 meters away
Took a lot of bullshit grinding for VI gems, but I got em all, but I could only kill the bullshit instant death dragon with night vision gems
the fight went so long it turned daylight and I got my shit pushed in

Baby's first RPG

>VI gems

Maybe because it has a 11/10 OST, art, characters, exploration that feels non-linear, unique story with a fresh approach and literally the best adventure atmosphere ever in a video game?

Just a hint.

Also:

Mate, you just have shit taste, accept it and move on.

fuck off with this meme
why does everything you dont like have to be reddit ?

i know a guy that quit breath of the wild before leaving the tutorial island because WHERE'S MUH STORY?

I wish i was shitting you. Also Witcher 3 is his favorite game.

thanks person who didn't play the game.

fucking Reyn of all people call him out for hiding shit unnecessarily.
