Has there been another game developed within a year that's better then Majoras Mask?

No, MM is the second best 3D Zelda so that would be hard to top anyway
To be fair a lot of the groundwork was already done before MM development even began.
But to answer your question, no.
What's your #1?
New Vegas
Twilight Princess
Metroid Prime 2.
Ah, that's good to hear. I'm super excited to play that one. Is the Wii U version a big step over the original? Idk if worth, because I really wanna play the gc version
Yeah graphically and you can have more items on face buttons I think. Dungeon design is the best its been in 3D still to this day
Fug, that makes me uber hard then since dungeons are just about my favorite part of the zelda series. That's one of the reasons I don't think I'll like botw as much because it only has 4 dungeons and a bunch of smart phone tier puzzles in shrines.
Well I can't speak much for BotW but what I saw from the Bird Divine Beast then BotW mossed the point on what makes Zelda great
If open world is the new norm for the Zelda series I'll probably off myself
TP is the shittiest zelda though
It did. Granted it did some things very right, but it's definitely moving away from what Zelda was.
PR talk is "wer're looking back at NES Zelda's roots" but the reality is "we want the Skyrim audience".
Well NES Zelda was about gaining items from dungeons and other parts of the world to more efficiently get theough dungeons and map areas, so fuck the PR talk.

I think Fallout 4/GTA audience since Skyrim was basically dead.
The Wii U version also added a new item called the Poe Lantern which lights up if there's a Poe in the area. You need to collect a lot of them similarly to the Golden Skulltulas in OoT.
Skyrim is still shockingly popular. Peak concurrent players on PC was 90k at launch, nowadays base game + special edition still add up to a half of that.
Really, what other single player game can boast 50% player retention after 5+ years?
Dragon Quest 2 :^)
MM is overrated
