Reminder that if you put a filthy knife-ear on your team you deserve to be euthanized.

Got my party to level 10, still being anally violated by owl bears.

On the whole, things are going pretty much as expected.

>Welcome home my brave warriors......just kidding
;_;

Waiting for my new 3ds tomorrow before I really get into it, still having trouble deciding on a team

best innkeeper

le beyond the meme girl

Dragoons are recommended because starting out because they'll actually keep your party alive long enough to gain levels.

Necros are popular due to summoning multiple wraiths to act as attackers/shields as well as being able to heal using them. Also, Necros can summon wraiths outside of battles, which means you can go into battle with 3 wraiths ready to go.

It's your call who you pick but it's a good idea to have one or both of the above when you're setting out.

It's been pretty decent so far. I don't care for many of the npcs, town music, and Im unsure about the party setup. Bunny girl is wrecking stuff at l.9 though. I wanted a Lolimancer in there, but I dunno about her fighting for summon spots against Dragoon. And don't know who I would change out in that case, Mage got elemental, and Pug got binds.

where do i get the moonstone for the quest? i went to the spot where the sunstone was and nothing was there. am i just retarded and it's in a different spot?

use blind, arm binds, or bunkers

you'd have to actually try not to have any of these abilities on your team, they're pretty spread out

How many summon spots are there? I was gonna use both a Dragoon and a Necro, is that a bad idea?

Just downloaded it. Dunno why they pushed it to the "back" of the eshop.

It will still work, but don't go into the bunker tree of the Dragoon.

3 summon spots.
You can use both but in this case don't use bunkers to not take summon slot.
Or you can still use them but that means less summons for the Necro so it will not be able to be used at it's full potential.

3 spots.
Not really a bad idea, since you can have 2 wraiths and 1 bunker/pillbox and still do a good job of it. The bunker will also protect the wraiths but wraiths are essentially expendable anyway since a lot of abilities require sacrificing them for buffs and heals anyway.

Different spot, it's just south from one of the statues at the bottom of the map.

Right now I'm toying around with the idea of Harbinger, Pugilist, Warlock, Necromancer, and Shaman. I wanted to try something new by not having a tank, but I don't know how much the lack of damage mitigation will hinder me. Also debating on switching out Necro for a Masurao, but I'll probably be even squishier.

You can put Shaman on dedicate DEF buff duty if that bothers you, but again it's going to take a while before they get leveled up enough to do that regularly.

I'd stick with the Necro since they can cover party healing duties when you need it.

I don't know if Shaman skills get better later on but I was really disappointed when I finally got the demo and found out they were just shitty versions of prince(ss)

That's what I was planning on. Necro having healing gave her an edge over the dumb bunnies for me.

They're alright at level 10 with an elemental party. 1 point in ruinous prayer, rush the elemental prayers, get the resist reduction and you have one point left for whatever which I just put into mastery.

Works real well setting up for a chain fencer but that's about it.

Rover's a good healer if you're willing to go down the doggo route, but then pets take up a summon slot so if you do decide to keep the necro, that's one slot less for a wraith.

Plus you've got the nightmare of naming BOTH pets. WITH A 5 CHARACTER LIMIT!!!

They somehow found a way to make it easier than EO4, but I'm still playing it for the memes

Does the dog spec have good healing? The main draws seemed like the stun attack and 1 party member shield to me.

What's the corrolation here?
Imperial, Medic, Rune, Landshark (male)
Zodiak, Gladiator, Ninja, Princess
Dark Hunter, Protector, Gunner, Survivalist.

Medical Lick is kind of iffy because it licks 9 random members, each member can only be licked twice but you can lick the other pets and your dog is dumb enough to lick a bunker which does nothing.

Its still a strong defensive spec though, the leg bind follow up attack is extremely strong and just by having binds in general you'll mitigate a lot of damage.

Man starting out is really rough, if RNG fucks you one of your full HP party members will just die in a single turn. Not to mention severely limited TP resources.

what site is this?

I beat a Toxipede by getting lucky and managing to keep its head bound nearly the entire fight. Now to repeat this feat 4 more times to fully upgrade my poison fist.

They've got a passive heal and a single target heal. If you spec the doggo route you get access to the shield heal and the random multiple character heal as well. They do hurt for a consistent full-party heal though.

Yeah, these games have a high difficulty curve, but once you're able to support yourself in the first dungeon , it becomes more manageable.

edit.s2.xrea.com/sq5/

I used a Brownie Hound when I played, you can get a reliable full party heal by using Item boosted Somas and your giant TP pool lets you manipulate your pets more often

It's kicking my ass!
I think I might be bad at video game.

Two redheads?

I used to be super autistic about doing maps, but not I just find it to be a hassle to take out the stylus every other step.

Welcome to dungeon crawlers my friend.

They're (half) siblings in my headcanon, also hence the similar eye color and names.

I only took poison fist to +4, at +5 the TP cost for the attached poison jab skill jumps from 5 to 10, and I didn't feel the extra bit of damage was worth doubling the cost of a skill like that when Pugilist only has like 50tp to begin with.

It's all jumbled up for me.

Disable adblock, it blocks it from loading for some reason

But one is an elf, and the other is a human.

>Quan Chi

WOOLAY

Post your team.

Nice team. My nigga, 1male/4female is best team ration.

I more or less chewed through everything the demo had to offer, I killed a whole bunch of Caterpillars & Bear Owls and gathered a bunch of materials in order to get the best armors and +5 weapons for my party in anticipation of the full game.

They are a beautiful adventuring family.

Why are you bringing your warlock to the front line? Do they get alchemist-ish skill later on?

Yeah, I know. But it's such a good sounding name,

The elf is half human just roll with it

1. Because I dislike having a 2-man frontline
2. I've already imagined him as a reckless sort of person
3. Yes, I'm expecting there to be skills that take advantage of a frontline position later on

Is the father a heavy drinker, or does the mother work at a tavern (the brown kind)?

You could put the Dragoon in the back row. They work in both lines.

I want, no, NEED doujins of the inn keeper

oh boy another copy pasted forest to explore

zzzzzzzzz

>tfw every second character I make starts off as some derivation of this color combo unless I consciously force myself to do otherwise
The allure of brown/tan is so strong, but in the end of I want a mix of members.

Can you imagine how painful it'd be if we had RGB control over the outfit as well?

I want to ____ the potato

How to actually get rare gather items? Even with a team full of people with the proper skill, they just won't come

Mating mash.

mash

fry

...

>Finally pick a team
>Finish the quest for the prince
>Suddenly I can alter classes
>Now I have the freedom to choose a race to be any class
So many choices. Where do I even begin? Also, do you unlock more skills trees later on, like as some story thing?

Yes

Do Fencers go as ham as landsharks did in IV, can they go beyond the hardcap of 4 links later in the game?

>Sup Forums constantly complains about the growing number of black female protagonists in gaming
>When given the choice most of Sup Forums ends up creating a party full of delicious brown women.

Really makes you think....

So you'll use the three summon spots on pet, bunkers and zombies?

>black female
>look like black people (often unattractive)

>delicious brown
>usually no black features besides black skin

I don't really know how things works, I don't have the demo yet.

Do you really have to bring this bullshit here too? Come on man.

I went
Pugilist/Masurao/Harbinger
Botanist/NecroMAN
Works really well but half of my turns the botanist does nothing at all while the other casts some heal, they are too good at it, may reclass them into shaman later on when I get a more reliable source of resurrection.

Why won't my Fencer's chase attacks activate? I used a regular attack, and a special for both of my front line fighters, but he doesn't do anything.

Harbinger+Botanist is a good combo if you go for ailment skills on the Botanist, but a Shaman would pound most bosses flat in combination with your Pugilist and Masurao.

Put some points into their poison ability.
Poison's really useful in these games.

>Yes, I'm expecting there to be skills that take advantage of a frontline position later on
you are very correct, Magic Weapon is a physical skill that uses your magic attack and you want to be whack people from the front row with your wand. It does the same damage as a level 10 compressed level 10 basic spell for only 10 TP

Necro does some amazing stuff with poison bombs already, they're amazing.

Chains only activate off of elemental and stab attacks iirc. Check to see which attacks your trying to use to trigger it.

Activates off Stab/respective elemental attacks now

Needs specific comps to function normally now, like Warlocks, bows, or shaman elemental buffs

I ended up going the other way round and speced my Botanist more for poison and Necro more for healing.

Yes, each class has two paths to choose from with different purposes. Usually a choice between "offensive and defensive".
For example, the Herbalist can choose to adopt the more aliment-focused path with lots of status effects, or they can double-down on healing (and even overheal people briefly).
The Pugilist can perfect the art of binding and atatatatatata with combo skills, or it can go RIP AND TEAR with HP-based burst damage.
etc.

Dragoon (Bunker/Pillbox build) and Necromancer don't really play nice with other summon classes, Necromancer especially.
>Necromancer wants all three slots to itself ideally
>Dragoon's bunkers will bait line attacks to the row which can fuck other summons

>women
Boys also work~

Fencers are about the same power level as the EOU2 Chasers, Masurao's are Landsharks though. Fencers cap around 5 chain but that takes a very specific type of party to do. Fortunately Chains have a much higher base damage and they stack harder (20+% more per chain) and you have Chain double which lets you chain twice 40% of the time. You also have Chain Killer which procs off ailments or binds and has an 800% damage modifier. Ideally you want a Shaman or a Warlock to make sure your party is elementally aligned.

Rover boy best boy.

just max Poison Herb for now, ALL POINTS. Even a Brownie Botanist is a rape machine in the early game with it

I stopped doing healing with necro the moment I started using wraiths as baits for all attacks, once you level it enough they tank a lot of shit nicely.

Why the FUCK is cannon a bash attack?

True, but destroying injured wraiths for a full party heal is always satisfying.

I should probably add more than one Necro to my party, one more speced for summoning and the other more for using abilities.

You really don't need to, once you level up reincarnation and gravekeeping they just keep popping out and the investment is really worth it.

I'm thinking more just to get me through the demo since there's that lvl10 hard cap.

who knows, counter guard is a stab attack though if you want to use a dragoon with a chain fencer

What game is this?

Sekaiju no Meikyu V: Nagaki Shinwa no Hate

etrian odyssey v

Masurao/Fencer
Warlock/Hound/Botanist*

I'm considering reclassing the botanist into a shaman and shifting healing duties over to the rover like I originally planned. Going 1 kat masurao since leg sweep+helm divide is preeeety good and having that thunder melee attack will help with chains as well.

what spot does the lemur give you skunk cabbages at
i've been all over 3f and haven't got shit

>Sup Forums is one person

2F, it's a rare item

Someone fucking tell me if the demo's save data transfers over to the full game

It does faggot.

theres always a transfer feature, thats why the demos are great

Is there an actual release date?

So you need the lemur for the quest? I just killed him because I didn't have any fresh fish.

october 17

what made you think it had anything to do with the lemur

you can just give him a fish and get some bonus exp
