if you unironically think that bottom looks better then you need to fuck off this board and stay on /vr/
If you unironically think that bottom looks better then you need to fuck off this board and stay on /vr/
>picking one of the few exceptions
>I'm underage
Cool.
Atmostpherically I like the left more
Bottom looks better. No joke.
>that shitty bright lack of atmosphere
Why did he autistically run away from her in this scene?
Exactly, the 3ds versions threw out all the old aesthetic.
>volcano emitting steam
nan desu ka
proof that OP is a massive faggot
the top looks better. But I also like the darker feel of the bottom. This was meant to be a sad moment.
he had shit to do
I don't think it looks 'better' but each has its charms and downsides.
OOT was very careful with it's lighting, they knew how to set the tone
OOT3D was outsourced to people who didn't really give a shit
bottom left is the exception to the remake looking better. ganondorf being shrouded in shadow makes him look way cooler
They were following the concept art. I thought grezzo did a really good job with the remakes
The eyebrows on link is my only problem
Bottom link has a look of determination, like he's going off to save the world as he runs off.
Top looks autistic
Sup Forums will say bottom looks comfy
LEFT: NINTENDO.
RIGHT: NU-TENDO.
REALLY MAKES YOU THINK.
Second belt on the tunic ruins it
All the pictures on the left are inferior to the ones on the right.
Top has more polys and more detailed textures, but it looks like shit. Also the lighting is gag worthy.
old town and temple look better
new dodongo king looks better
old final battle looks better, ganondorf is far more menacing in the original
thay both look like stupid shit, I know we all are on a video game board but at least play adult games
If they hadn't fucked up the lighting, then 3D would be objectively superior.
It's a shame.
The 3DS version of OoT made it more whimsical, which doesn't really fit the story. It worked better for MM, where the world is already more colorful and clashing.
N64 has better atmosphere and 3DS has better everything else. Gonna go with the 3DS version every day of the fucking week.
I can forgive all the artistic liberties they made with the game. Hell, I could forgive them if they made every model in the game wear stupid clown shoes and funny hats. What I can't forgive though is the stupid fucking lit up like a goddamn football stadium arena during the Ganon fight. It's like they completely missed what made the fight so good while also thinking that the 3DS system didn't have a goddamn backlight. Fuck, it's so awful.
This, holy shit
The final ganon battle in the original was MUCH more intimidating. Why did they get rid of the storm and the dark atmosphere?
You're a disgusting casual.
Everything on the left looks better except Dodongo.
>what is tone
>what is atmosphere
>what is ambience
Just look at ganondorf for 3 seconds and tell me which has an air of menace and which looks like some gmod shit.
This thread is full of autism. That aside, Everything looks better in '3D other than the Great Deku's death. You can barely see the animation when he's dying.
>darker=atmosphere
kindly fuck off
>OoT was a narrative heavy gloomy game and story
>Destroy that in the "remake"
What was Nintendo thinking?
Make the remake ones darker so your edgy ass can like it
>gloomy
how convenient you ignore the whole part of young link in colorful places with colorful characters you fucking edgelord
We want the pixar audience
Have fun with god awful framerates and old ass N64 models.
But does right look better than left?
there's this thing called contrast user
Are you admitting that only nostalgia makes you like the original more?
>N64
>realistic human designs
The graphics lied to you retards.
sorry coldsteel, picking the dark places isn't contrast
what the fuck are you on about
>open up a menu
>select boots
>close menu
>frame stutter
>move down a little
>open menu
>frame stutter
>un-equip boots
>close menu
>frame stutter
>rinse and repeat about 50 fucking times if you're not already lost
>3DS version totally didn't utterly fix this issue and improve the game
FUCKING LOL
i'm sorry you don't know the basics of art design
it must be very hard on you
The bottom does actually look better. Link looks like a ken doll in the top one
wow it's almost as if the game didn't have a gigantic range of perfect scores with that kind of UI
really makes you think
did your half of your brain die? you're always ignoring the part that you don't like of everything
Assuming the Pixar comment was about the anime-like face designs
The whole game was gloomy, it was a heavy point in the story. There's contrast between areas and characters that accentuate how much was at stake if Evil won. That's why it's so great: You have places like Lon Lon Ranch, comfy and colorful, and have places like Kokiri Forest, that was dark but beautiful, nad some others like the Fire Temple or the Shadow Temple, which are fucked up.
OK so you're admitting you don't get it again
I just don't understand why
>3DS version made iron boots a C button item
This alone makes up for any shitty aesthetics tampering that took place.
>allt hose bright colors
disgusting.. ruined the atmosphere completely
the first zelda is supposed to be grimdark not a fucking bright fairytale
It's almost as if people were willing to get past this because back then the game was fucking amazing and then shockingly things aren't as amazing as when they first came out.
Like Zelda 1 is such a good game to play nowadays just like it was when it was released and totally doesn't require a fucking guide to beat.
you are very right
>enable cheat to run fast with boots
wow that was hard
>I know better than the people who made it!
it is and you can, and the wrong changes in remakes make for a worse game. it's not even gameplay improvements, just improvements in parts that are only frustrating in retrospect. equating that with bad stylistic changes is stupid as fuck.
>in order to make old game design good all you need is a third party cheat device
we know when they fuck up something they got right before
the remake devs are the ones that thought they knew better, and they were very wrong.
Castle town legit looks better. A building with a molar on top was never good looking. My middle school friends made fun of it when OoT came out. Temple of Time looks better on the right save for the Death Mountain mist. King Dodongo looks better on the right. Ganondorf being shrouded in shadow was cool and all but overall it did not look good in action. I like minimalism in detail but Ganondorf and Ganon were both far too undefined. Couldn't even tell he turned into a fucking pig before.
You're right. Clearly no one here knows what they're talking about. That's why we are having this thread right now. Because the remake was so good everyone agrees on the bright shitty colors. Also, you have to be 18 or older to post here, kiddo.
It doesn't, if you have the original game manual.
So if you just google scans of the original game manual/map, you can beat the first Zelda fine without a guide, because hundreds of thousands of people did it without the internet holding their hand.
It actually makes the old game play better than the new one.
>Castle town legit looks better.
full retard
The only reason I'd ever recommend the original N64 version over the 3DS version to someone who has never played Ocarina of Time is if someone made a hack that fixed the framerate and turned the iron boots into a c-item.
Water Temple is a fucking pace breaker in the original and that'll turn someone off quicker than some minor fucking aesthetic decisions.
Top looks like a shitty handheld port that couldn't handle lightmaps or any kind of shader whatsoever and ends up looking like a fan game stuck on fullbright, with even less contrast than a Marvel film
Oh wait
Reminder.
>Water Temple is a fucking pace breaker in the original and that'll turn someone off quicker than some minor fucking aesthetic decisions.
This is just a meme that meme'd out of proportions because memers like you meme'ing about their stupid memes from meme friends.
The WT is easy unless you're american. You are one aren't you?
>framerate
PCbros, everyone
Like seriously just get over it
>boots
you're overblowing it so hard that it's not even funny
it's an annoying dungeon no matter what, that won't fix it
/vr/ is a better board anyway
I know you can't wait for school to end so you can come home and talk mess with the big boys on BIG ol' 4 chan.
>what are critics
>people can't critique things
wew m8 I hope ur bait
remakefags btfo
I unironically like N64 fog
>Dark = atmosphere!
Nah. Left doesn't make much sense considering Hyrule Town is supposed to be bright and vibrant contrasting the eventual bad future and surroundings.
for castle town proper you may have a point, but for the temple not a chance.
Well, Hyrule Town is bright and vibrant, but the Temple is a contrasting bit of foreshadowing that leaves plenty to the imagination until the story further unfurls.
You can say that it looks worse but this alone makes OOT3D better than the original.
>totally doesn't require a fucking guide to beat.
That was the point. You got to phone nintendo on a special number to ask them. Or buy their magazine. Nintendo were always assholes. At least they used to make great games (though I heard latest zelda is great).
Bullshit you didn't find the temple monotonous as hell the first time through.
"No."
Nintendo kids of today make Sonic autists look like Hugh Heffner, I swear.
I hope the right is an edit
I love the old Market but I just wish it wasn't so fucking blurry.
>That lighting in the top
Didn't know B-team posted on Sup Forums
> they didn't even remake it and add in extra content
> just reskinned the original and fucked the lighting
> flipped master quest for no reason
9 times out of 10 none of you would even care of the changes if you were playing it.
This scene made me think that the relationship between Link and Saria was gonna be important throughout the game.
When you play her song she just gives useless information, Link tosses out Saria's ocarina like a piece of trash once he gets the OoT and in the future going to the forest temple is made out to be urgent but when you get there Saria is already dead and the temple spirits or whatever are practically irrelevant once you clear their temples. It's weird that Link leaving the forest is made out to be a big deal with that cutscene.
>deliberately left in fun glitches
>fixed items
>flipped master quest to further differentiate it from normal mode because you're lying if you say playing a game flipped doesn't throw you off.
and that 10% would take 10% metacritic off
Nigga you dumb. Did you actually play the game or just watched a playthrough?
They added more shortcuts to items, made boots equippable with shortcuts and added a boss rush.
Both of them look good though, just in a different way.
Of course, taking framerate into account as well, the 3ds version looks better.
I agree that the mask shop looked a bit too glum in the original but the remake kind of overdid it, it sticks out way too much
games live off of atmosphere, not muh framerate.
>Grezzo
>people who made it
They were limited to co-op Zelda garbage for a reason.
>22 critics
>85 critics
>only 5 point variance with more than triple the scores
It technically reviewed better.
both look good
ill take either one
its a fucking circus event game, the thing MUST BE COLORFULL, otherwise it will not get people atention
