lower the difficulty or get good. it's only 4 turns

is there a way to check your companions reputation with you, just too see how much they like you or not, also, is it possible to show the numerical values on the armor and life bars without having to hover over them

T. Explorer mode shitter

classic is blatantly too difficult and explorer is babby easy. larian are stupid.

How do you even come to that conclusion

>classic is blatantly too difficult

Except it's not

>it's only 4 turns bro!
No. these dudes have insane amounts of armor and damage and you can't do fuck all to them. This fight is so dependent on luck it's insane.

What does malady say the first time you meet her after killing Alex? She climbed a ladder while talking and suddenly despawned

It still only lasts 4 turns before the battle's won. Reload a save before the fight and prepare for it better. Most of them don't have magic armor and you can just teleport abuse them to the other side of the boat

Why aero and pyro gets only 5 % damage increase per level

but geo and hydro gets 5 % damage increase per level and bonuses to phys and magic armour
balance my ass

Never mind she just teleported back to her first spot

I think the game is mostly fine. The only change I think is really needed is making it so Taunt doesn't require you to remove armor first. That makes it kinda useless.

The bigger issue is they really need to fix the memory bloat issue. My file is basically fucked, I'll probably have to start over as is, and I don't want to do a new file only to have it happen again.

Apparently theres just something about fort joy that will randomly bloat your file

she bites your ear and says you're godwoken and tells you to get on the boat

Yeah right click and examine them, then look for attitude

So for those who've played both, is OS 1 or 2 better? Never beat one but got fairly far into it and wouldn't mind finally beating it, but at the same time 2 is looking pretty good.

im hyped to play this but should i play the first one first

4 of Malady's turns. Don't try to dilute the situation. There's 16 units in that fight, total. That's 64 turns.

Not really the most you'll miss is some references to the first gsme

Why are there no katanas
My Backlash feels incomplete

OS1 quality wise jumps the shark after Act 2, OS2 needs more polish (God forbid a game gets released without needing 1000000000000000000000000000 patches anymore) but I'm enjoying it more regardless.

It would teach you how to play the game and you would have a deeper understanding of exactly what's taking place and why it's taking place but it's not a direct continuation of the events from OS1. No reason to skip it just to jump into OS2 but it's not going to leave you in too much confusion if you do.

What difficulty are you playing on? I'm on classic and that fight was not a challenge at all for me. Maybe I got lucky somehow idk.

>tfw apparently Larian hotfixed the save file issue today but my file still runs horribly

Guess I'm starting over then

not that guy, it took me about 6 tries on classic

Classic. between the teleporting geists and the flying dogs, I can't seem to keep those fuckers off malady.

You can also use teleport on her to move her around the ship

larian.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=605573
you can fix it yourself

Oh sweet, I'll look into this, thanks

Will Tactician Mode ever get patched or is it too much work for a patch fix?

Use charm its funny on that part.

>classic
>hard
actually fucking retarded the player

whats wrong with tactician mode?

Is Classic the perfect difficulty to play on right now? I heard the Armor System makes Tactician too arduous.

I haven't played it myself but people say the enemies are too bloated with armor, which negates the usefulness of too many spells.

Third time's the charm, I guess. Fucking finally. Thank you, smoke grenade, that I had forever because I felt was useless.

What's the use of smoke? Is the aero/scoundrel skill that makes a smoke cloud any good?

If it's like the first game, it clouds visibility. An archer cannot target an enemy behind a cloud of smoke, and can't target anyone if he's within a cloud of smoke.

so, how far into the game can you respec your companions and do you lose all skills when you do it

After act 1 with mirror. You don't lose skills, but I heard if you're running a custom character you lose can lose your tags.

Aero and pyro have more utility and buffs.

If you don't have AoE abilities, there's no way to target anything obscured by smoke. The target doesn't even have to physically be in the cloud in some cases. It will act like a wall that blocks line of sight of ranged attackers from a distance.

nice, i just exited fort joy, how much longer is act I, because i decided to experiment and royally fucked up

>worm spawns during the alexander fight
>get bullied by the worm and alexander's party

Every time I see Sup Forums talk about a game I have or am currently playing, I once more am forced to confront the realization that the people who post here are insanely shit at games.

How do you fucking retards make it through life if vidya poses too great a challenge? Natural selection needs to be brought back.

Im stuck there too

I have a custom femdwarf character and I could still use the conversation tags that my character originally had. I hope it won't become an issue later though. Sounds annoying as shit.

half the mobs dont have armor OR magic

just CC them, kill the gheists.

>ignore worm
>Alexander's party has it out with the worm while you bully the stragglers

Recommended starting difficulty for this game?

I wish we could customize our team more during Fort Joy, some of the presets are just fucking terrible.

The smoke cloud in OS 1 was absolute bullshit tier. Most of the times AI can ignore it and still aim for my party and I can't do the same in return which made fights extremely aggravating.

I've already reached Act 2 and so far the fights feel surprisingly balanced. I'm not forced to use that many special arrows or even grenades compared to the first game.

explorer

So I just found the cursed Magister in the castle ruins and was given the option to find a cure for him.

Blessing him doesn't cure it, so how do you heal him?

restoration?

>classic is blatantly too difficult

do you wanna know how i can tell you are born post-2000?

Dual lone wolf summoner to good

Summoner anything is good, it's a fantastic skill line.

WHO ELSE UNDEAD IN HERE

i got fane in my party and i love the character.. with him and my custom human undead ranger i named my party skeletor brothers

>go into tavern
>remove mask
>hilarity ensues

Is it possible to cure the rat that has to talk in opposites? Inside of braccuss fort

Is one hand + shield awful? Seems like my character does shit damage compared to everyone else. Wondering if I should just have him go with a two hander.

You don't go 1h/shield for damage you use that to be super tanky with the shields bonus armor.

You have to cast Bless (the Source skill) WHILE he's standing in blood- So you can either cast Blood Rain then Bless, or teleport a character up there, shoot them with an arrow or something, then Bless.

>worm spawns
>Alexanders party spazzes out running back and forth not sure who to attack
g-guess I'll just kill it on my own then

I know, it's just painful how crappy the one handed damage is.

>that conversation before fighting radeka the witch
Whew I'm kinda glad I lost the first time so I could see it again

I've got a two hander guy and a 1h+shield and they both do about the same damage.

Are we talking about the same thing? I'm in the Armoury in the ruined castle with the cursed lever that killed a bunch of magisters.

I summoned a bunch of blood under the guy and blessed the blood and it didn't do anything.

Also, teleport a character up where? The guy's on the ground with me.

I think he got mixed up and was talking about the cursed historian inside of the gargoyles maze

same but im still in fort joy so i assume the damage is going to fall off fast

Classic would be "normal" It's not so easy though.

Wasn;t able to cure him either. Think he's just supposed to be killed.

Crud, I really want to figure out if this guy can be saved or not.

As would I I feel like you can but nobody has found out how

How was that difficult in the slightest? Legit just don't let the enemies go near her and it's done.

they ignore you and target Malady. If you try to block them, they just teleport. Turned out that best trick was to just make it so that she can't be targeted via smoke/clouds.

A little disappointing that 2 handers are essentially worthless.

You get more defense out of a shield, and more damage out of dual wielding, and more reliable damage at that (you can miss with one weapon but hit with the other, not so with 2H).

There's literally no point to 2H.

Spear would be neat if there were any actual range benefit.

It has range bonus. My dual wielder has to hug an enemy to hit it, spear user can stand behind the dual wielder and hit the same enemy just fine. He gets attacks of opportunity all the time since he threatens such a huge area.

Don't skills deal damage based on your main weapon's output?

Nope, both if you're dual wielding.

It's really fucking dumb.

is there any fucking reason to take the crazy ghost possessed bitch in your party? After she started wigging out and attacking the elf in the caves I said "screw it" and kicked her out

She's kawaii

Why can't spears backstab?

That's where Enhanced Edition comes in.

Are you playing Tactician in OS2?

Who else here killed Sebille? Dumb bitch attacked me for no reason when I encounter her on the island.

The whole point of a spear is that you keep the enemy away

spears don't actually do that in this game, they just let you attack from a small distance

I tried playing with her but my main is Red Prince and once I found out that she kills lizard NPC's vital to my origin story without even asking me I reloaded and killed the bitch.

I did

I assume it's a thing she has with lizards

Can one summoner have a totem AND an incarnate out at the same time?

>teleport/ressurect you party away from the worm
>worm bullies Alexander & co

You can have multiple totems up. I'm not sure if there's a hard cap on them or if you're just limited by the cooldown. You can summon a totem each turn and they live for 3 turns.

literally casual: the shitposter

are there crpgs where you arent in a group?
something balanced around a singular character?
similar to underrail?
i really dont like managing big amounts of people. i like it when singular decisions i make have more gravitas during an encounter.

>i am braindead and don't like to think: the post

that's not what he said at all

thats rude.
i just prefer singular actions having more impact than stretching the same things out over several turns for several characters.

Go play witcher or something. What's the point of tactical turn-based with only one character to control?

Nintendo seems what you want. It has Zelda.

Theyre not vital though

Actually, now that I think of it, the game does had a means of playing a singular character. If understand it correctly, it's called the Lone Wolf perk. You cant ever have a party but your own stats are heavily boosted.
