It's the perfect crime.
>posting a blank image
MOOOOOOOOOOODS
>hey user you like video games right
how the fuck do they know
Whenever someone asks me what are my hobbies I simply mention any other thing but videogames.
>guy at work tells me he's looking for a new D&D group
>i've been looking for a new group for years
>but i don't like him
>fffffffffuck
but what if the person asking likes video games too
>what do you do for fun, user?
>*don't say play video games and jack off don't say play video games and jack off don't say play video games and jack off*
>Oh uh nothing.
They know.
I say I like video games/tv and movies/reading
then by saying so I might possibly find those of similar interests
If they like video games more than you, you are a fucking casual. If they like video games less than you, THEY are a fucking casual. If you both like video games the exact same amount you are both casual normies and you've already fucked so why the fuck are you even asking.
>"You're into rock music, right?"
>try to mention something other than videogames
>mention that i paint 1/35 scale tanks and keep a marine reef aquarium
I'm not sure which is worse, but at least people think that marine fish are cool.
I'm more into fart metal.
They can't see you if you stay indoors and do nothing.
I don't want to be friends with people who like the same thing I like because the people who like the things I like are too much like me: repugnant subhuman scum.
Maybe you should start liking yourself
>not just lying and saying [insert normie sport here] so they continue talking about other shit
It's a good thing I actually like baseball, so in case someone cares, I'll know what they're talking about.
But still, just fucking lie.
>pronounce it hen-tay
No one must know my secret
>paint 1/35 scale tanks
do people think models are a strange hobby? people do model trains and planes and plantains, no one bats an eye at those.
>be candid and tell them exactly what kind of music you like
>they tune out immediately because it's not top 40 garbage.
>not saying cartoon porn
they know
What game is that brick wall from?
>mfw all these sensitive children are hiding videogames because they're afraid of what people will think
>tfw hiding videogames because it's illegal to play them in my country
>I bought the Playstation 4 for my wife's kid
Works like the sting of a bee
I call it cartoon pornos with japanimation girls and tentacles
I like everything that isn't nigger
>"Oh yeah, I love Mareyo!"
They're not a "strange" hobby, but they're a stereotypically nerdy one. They don't have the same low-status connotations as something like videogames though because there's a degree of skill and artistry involved, and they tend to be done either by small children (so people have fond memories of doing it themselves when they were kids/their kids doing it) or grown men, who go about it with a bit more dignity than adolescents. So it's perceived as a bit "reserved" but harmless enough, and kind of interesting - whereas videogames are perceived as low-status and a waste of time, and the people who play them as immature.
Basically people see models as a hobby, and games as a waste of time.
What sort of conversations are you people having in which hentai is even brought up at all?
I don't even talk about that shit with my high powerlevel buddies.
>Well I like bjork metal but not finnish metal LOL what am I a fucking turnip farmer? haha but seriously black metal is my shit so long as they stay above 200 bpm and keep that nice 90s era aesthetic going COME BACK HERE WHY ARE YOU WALKING AWAY fucking top 40 plebs
I don't but obviously you should say cartoon porn and not hentai or a mispronunciation of it.
Wait, you live in Sup Forums?
>ask if they like metal
>"Yeah I listen to Asking Alexandria and Avenged Sevenfold."
>person asks you if you play video games
>"the only game ive played is super sonic on the nintendo station
>model plantains
sure, but what threw me off was:
>I'm not sure which is worse
it seems to me that models + aquarium is much more likely to be perceived as a reasonable adult hobby than video games (which your post acknowledges).
Yeah, I perceive them as equally autistic but the normies don't.
You don't have to be a turbosperg and you will still be disregarded as soon as you make any indication that you are talking about something they have no experience with.
I'm shitposting at work so I don't have my reaction images, but I want you to imagine the laughing yellow face one.
>tfw dont enjoy any hobbies other than video games and anime
>if I say I like video games and TV they ask me about game of thrones or if I play Madden
What image?
why do I feel like normal people would respect me more if said "heroin and hookers" instead of "video games"? Why is society this way?
...
What brick wall? It's a blank image.
>made a random joke about body pillows in conversation with normal friends
>accidentally said dakimakura instead of body pillow
>say dakimakura
>DID YOU SAY DAI MAKAI MURA?!
This so much. I have never made any effort to meet people with similar interests as me since high school because they always end up being awful. The worst part is that I know there have to be other people hiding their powerlevel and I'm probably acquainted with a few, but of course because we all hide it we will never really meet each other unless some crazy coincidence happens.
>tell them I like country
>"What, are you like a hillbilly or something?"
Why does everyone hate country?
I usually start talking about cars since its another interest. I can get away with video games at work though I work in IT and just about everyone I work with is into them.
All they know is pleb pop-country shit.
>why does everyone hate white people music?
Adna...
>"You play games right?"
>Yeah I do
>"What about games like Dota or Overwatch, even Portal? I really like those"
>No I don't play such shitty fucking games, I actually play good games that take skill instead of eating liquefied shit on a regular basis, now if you don't want to talk about real games, get the fuck out of here.
Did you think that was funny?
Because the current pop country we have now is just the same shit regurgitated over and over again. Everyone sounds exactly the same and every song is about losing your girlfriend or boyfriend either that or drinking and riding a 4wheeler. Country singer fans are also the worst, I grew up in a small hick town in the middle of nowhere and country fans are the dumb hicks you would expect. In another case Kenny Chesney I think it was or some other big country singer was recently in my city. There were multiple drunken retards arrested, the venue was completely trashed and the parking lot was a sea of garbage.
I have been to said venue multiple times and there were never any problems like that concert when I was there.
wait... how DO you pronounce it properly?
>want someone to play local with on Panty Quest 76: Extra Boobular Edition
>guy I talk to at work mentions the main character by name but quickly catches himself and changes subject
>want to call him out and be best friends but we both have to contain our powerlevel so we can fit in with the outside world
It must be a terrible feel
My lifelong hobby is video games but I do this every time. I don't let on ever in public.
Same with anime, comic books etc.
My answer is always "only if they involve hookers and blow"
I don't like associating with other people like me. The thing is I love video games, comics, anime, manga and all but I hate being around other people who do irl. They're usually almost always horrible people, like me.
I wish I knew the narrower genre for what I like. I'm not sure if it's so much of a genre as a theme because I actually liked some of those real sad pop-country songs. Whiskey Lullaby for instance or devil's backbone. There were a few songs by Joe Bonamassa I liked but looking it up that's blues rock rather than country. There was one singing of The Butcher Boy (Folk) I wish I could have gotten the artist of because it was amazing.
I'm foreign, but I think we usually just refer to it as southern rock
You deserve so much worse.
youtube.com
why not be truthful about the games you like? is it really so bad? I do get where the long of you are coming from though.
I don't ever feel the need to discuss video games with people because I have you, Sup Forums, for it. I'll humor somebody with my opinion of a game in real life if they ask for it, but I don't feel the need to express my opinions nor do I particularly care about their opinions of a game.
so, very likely, if you met me as a stranger and we were initiated in a conversation, I probably wouldn't bring up video games.
>"what kind of music are you into?"
>Listened to nothing but Kpop,Jrock, Japense rap and Vidya OST for the past few months
>"K-kanye weast?"
>turn him down just because human interaction requires actual effort
>entire relationship was a lie anyway
>he doesn't talk about porn with his friends
beta
Cause sometimes you meet those ones that go "Oh don't talk to user about X. he likes that weird shit."
Thus making some of us feel legit attacked.
If youre unfortunate, you might live in place where there's just too many people like that.
Edgy.
>"what kind of music are you into?"
If you say anything other than "Anything good, it doesn't matter what genre as long as it isn't any of that stupid nigger shit" you're an anti-social aspie.
>no I don't play video games
>no I don't play
>oh you know, I read...
>hm? Uh I like hemingway
>somebody turns on street fighter / melee
>sit down to play
>now the guy that ruined the system for everyone
>end up sheepishly leaving
I don't know why I must always try hard, but pretending to be bad is also way harder
>being this much of a beta
they can smell the fear on you fag.
>Become a woman
literally works all the time
>tfw don't know any of the artists I listen to because it's collected from ygyl
>I'm open to a lot of shit , have likes in all genres but that's a cop out
I just say hip hop and name drop nujabes if asked
Always set up a winner wins three times than switches rule.
Alternatively, call out the "best" player in the room and make a big show about it, then leave once you wreck him.
"what kinds of games do you like"
Any genre besides JRPGs, even though they're my favorite genre
isn't that cunt dead tho?
>"uh, I play a little counter strike"
Yeah, but that doesn't mean his music isn't good
Yeah and it's a conversation piece if they bring it up and we can be sad over lost talent
>say you dont play video games
>they then expect you to know whats on TV and be following gay of thrones
>can't say anime because normalfags think its all squids and toddlers
I'd rather admit to watching loli tentacles than telling someone I watched Kemono and enjoyed it.
I mean its alright but with the amount of simpsonwave and lo-fi channels that I have stumbled across most of his music sounds about the same as the rest of the genre desu.
>Freshman year of college, decide to dip into Anime Club's first meeting to see what it's like
>Doing icebreakers at the beginning so everyone can introduce themselves and say what their favorite anime is
>Everyone says the usual like Full Metal Alchemist or Ouran Highschool Host Club or Naruto and the like
>My turn comes around and I say my favorite anime is Giant Robo: The Day The Earth Stood Still
>Everyone gives me a blank stare because I'm the only one so far who's listed a show from before the 2000s
I was just hoping to find someone with similar tastes but I should have known better
>going to an anime club
Why would you EVER think this is a good idea?
The first few weeks of college were pretty much trying out a bunch of different clubs and seeing which were worth attending more than once. I knew going in that I probably wouldn't spend that much time at an Anime club at college but I didn't think their tastes would be THAT entry level.
The video games club was better for talking about anime anyways. Met a dude who loved Advance Wars and introduced him into Super Robot Wars, he thought it was the tightest shit.
>socializing at all
>expecting anything from normalfags
shit, the only 'club' I attend at university is the bar
I feel like I lucked out at my college, whenever you guys talk about horror stories like that.
>Smash club
>Decide to pop in because I have nothing better to do
>All the people who mostly did 1v1s were pretty cool, sometimes we would play melee and other fighting games too.
>we had a casual couch where the freshmen would play 8-player. they were mostly loud, sometimes obnoxious.
>mfw someone from the casual couch actually managed to get me down to my last life using some shit with Rosalina I never seen before.
>mfw that same person also managed to beat a Sheik player who legitimately raged at that.
>another friend from the casual couch managed to beat an actual tournament player in 1v1.
Fun times. The only club I would visit just about every week.
country can be good if it isnt sung by a women
because nobody gives a fuck about a song about being a daddy's girl or overcoming domestic abuse
Sandbagging is fun in fighting games cause sometimes you discover you like the character you're trying to be bad with
but people give a fuck about "why did muh wimmin leave me all i did was cheat on them and spend their money on booze" and GIVE ME THE TRUCC
>Saying "if-ritt" even though the games all pronounce it as "ee-freet"
>Saying Teedus even though its correctly pronounced Tyedus
>not telling them you like post-minimal dadaist music concrete and also the low-budget techno they play in the background during fashion runways
that's just the way people in New York say the name, though
I have normie enough interests if people ask what I'm into.
>oh, I love hiking, especially all day trips
>I love to go watch musicals when they come around. Hey, so and so theater is doing Cabaret soon, we should go see it
>I'm not very good at it, but I'm trying my hand at growing and tending small plants. Would you like to see my crassula?
I'm also good enough looking to play off having nerdier interests as being acceptable hobbies if it comes to that.
by which you mean, you watched Kemono Friends, and you enjoyed it. right?
>Completely open about my hobbies of vidya and anime
>Only became friends with people who either also had similar interests, or were indifferent to my hobbies
WOOOOOW, it's so hard to not be a spergy fuck. Not.
Only teenagers and retards are scared to disclose their hobbies.
