Has anyone gone to a Midnight release recently? Do they still give out goodies or hold tournaments? What's better for midnight releases chain stores like Gamestop and Best Buy or small local stores.
Has anyone gone to a Midnight release recently? Do they still give out goodies or hold tournaments...
I did the switch one. Waited for 8 hours. SO much regret.
Gamestop has been doing day-before 9 PM releases recently for people that pre-order. Got it for Persona 5 and Crash
What happens if you have to shit
oh wow, that's pathetic
No, but me and my friends used to egg those kind of people during my high school days. It was pretty funny.
Did you at least get the Switch?
Yes. The only game I've enjoyed is BOTW though.
Last one I went to was for the Switch. All we did was wait in line til it was close to midnight, then the employees asked everyone what color and what games/amiibos everybody wants. The last midnight release that held a tournament was for Brawl.
I would have for samus returns since they do it at 9 these days but they were only allowed to sell nba 2k
Depends on the store policy of your local game store. Most will make you dump ass in your pants and only let you clean up in the retail showers inside after showing a valid receipt
best buy is still alive?
Of course. Circuit City and Radioshack are the dead ones
don't you mean microcenter
I havn't even heard of that one.
I did one for Dark Souls III. Got a nice bonfire keychain for it
Neither have I.
>Number of locations 25
well thats fucking why
I did for Smash for Wii U.
They set up a Brawl Tournament before vending the game and I took 4th place, my buddy took 2nd.
The one before that was MoP expansion for WoW and coincidentally FIFA 18 was releasing that night too so all the dudebros and black clothed fedora wearers were coming in at the same time.
Never been to one. I value my sleep.
what's ded about micro center?
They're alive but just barely. If you live in a big city you might get a crowd, but digital games killed midnight launches. Those hardcore enough to buy the game at midnight probably want to play as soon as possible, so they buy digitally and play right at midnight and not waste time driving to and from the store.
only midnight release i've been to is portal 2. most games i buy aren't popular enough to get midnight releases, and now goystop sells games the night before release, so that's when i picked up persona 5.
my friend that pre-ordered on PSN was reeing when i got it before him. then it was super fuxxored because i installed japanese voices before i installed the game and it took me a couple hours of troubleshooting before i could actually play it.
Imagine being that hopelessly detached from reality.
you didnt miss much. it was almost as bad as best buy.
they didnt accept their own websites online prices in-store either. such a shit place. i wont miss them
i like micro center for cheap SD cards and flash drives.
It all depends on the location. I went to the Midnight release for Destiny 1 at Gamestop and they had a game truck outside the store with Halo 3, Reach, and Halo 4.
