I dont have to like him to know that he was far better in MKX. In the movie he has nothing to do with the character and sounds more like fucking Reptile. He was a growling bum with long hair and a gown with some shitty effects slapped on top. Literally nothing in common with the game equivalent beyond the lightning motif. Meanwhile Cage, Kang, Sonya, Kano, Sub-Zero, Scorpion and Goro were done actually faithfully
