I haven't played the DLC yet. Is it any good?
Nioh DLC
Yeah
No, it isnt
yes
Yes. While you only get two main missions and the second DLC lacks enemy types, the level layouts are really good and the bosses are great. Despite the higher level requirement there's no need to grind, just don't give up like others did after losing to the first boss as he's one of the game's toughest.
I want to kill whichever cunt decided to balance the DLC under the assumption that you've already completed the whole game in way of the strong and obtained gear from it. The difficulty spike from the main game without having bothered with way of the strong is insane.
I just don't know.
It's rather unbalanced difficulty wise.
*spins and spins and spins and spins*
Psh... nothin personnel, kid...
If you like enemies that kill you in one or two hits then sure; they were doing alright with game balancing before, but then they went full retard; especially for the side missions.
The entire game is unbalanced in favour of the player and random high damage is the only way they could retain some semblance of difficulty, it is highly likely you're not using half of what you can actually take advantage of.
I was wondering if I was just remembering wrong since I haven't played since the last DLC or if this DLC really did just have bullshit damage amounts.
Or they could just have decent move sets you have to learn, which is what they already had in the main game without this bullshit. Yukimura's moves all look the same and you can barely get two hits in between each combo.
Maybe, all I know is it was a very unforgiving test of my abilities; VERY unforgiving. I didn't play through the game again for god gear so there's that.
DLC 2 has some of the best maps in the series. The only people that didn't like Siege of Osaka are fags who can't take their time
The rain of arrows was the tightest shit ever.
>Stand around behind barricade
>Run out and poke enemy twice
>Run back behind barricade
>Rinse and repeat
Yeah man, that shit was incredible.
The second map was mostly good and the idea of Yukimura's generals was interesting but them all having incredibly defensive AI where they block at all times and you can never get more than one hit in just made them obnoxious.
Both DLC have a godlike level design, really. Fox side-mission is probably the most atmospheric shit in the game so far, with those illusory walls and weird shit like onmyo mage bullying a kodama by forcing wheelmonk to roll around him.
I haven't played the DLC and am not spoiling it for myself, but the entire base game has bullshit damage amounts that are bark and no bite because of the insane amount of overpowered options you have. Assuming he's a human boss you can take even more advantage of that.
This kind of unforgiving high damage was what you all asked for, since the similarly unforgiving but much fairer and actually challenging version of the game was bitched about.
Last dlc has been anounced but have they said anything about a goty version ?
>but the entire base game has bullshit damage amounts that are bark and no bite because of the insane amount of overpowered options you have
Explain yourself.
>Assuming he's a human boss you can take even more advantage of that.
He's human but he spends most of the fight in powered up forms where he can't be countered or stunned until his ki is emptied. And he can also randomly refresh his powerup.
I also loved how interconnected the maps between missions were in the dlc
I just killed spider girl boss. How much of the main game is left?
being the moth obsessed dumb I am and also never liking the Sanadas filled me with determination and it felt really rewarding to finish the second one. I'm so fucking livid you still won't get the cute Moth girl though, I felt really bad when I had to kill Otani four times and still no trace of her, hopefully will be in the third one
damn Its gonna take some time. Game is kicking my ass
I'm pretty sure the only reason they brought her back out of nowhere just to piss people off when they didn't get her yet again.
>tfw I can cheese Yukimura with stairs
>gee Bill, your mom lets you have TWO spirit guardians!?
I don't think there's much else I need to explain. Most enemies do far more damage than you would expect if they actually manage to hit you, but because there are far less than there should be, they have very low health and you have so many strong and damaging options and abilities, it's all for nothing. Then on the off chance you do get clipped it feels cheaper and much less deserved because of how high the damage is regardless of attack. Nothing exemplifies this more than Onryudo, especially his cheeky jab after running towards you. Before release, the game had slightly less damage but was more punishing if you ran out of Ki. If you screwed up you were well aware of it.
You've already fought several Living Weapon using bosses then, there are countless many ways to reduce Ki so you've been allowed to ignore one of the fundamental parts of combat for far too long.
>tfw no mothgirl gf
why even live?
Maybe you should fuck off and come back after you play the DLC, because what everyone is bitching about is that it's not comparable to the main game.
well it fucking worked
PC port when?
>infuses himself with moth girl and starts flying out of fucking nowhere
That was cool.
k, lemme know when you git gud
I want to hug_ that moth
Can't I just play the DLC straight from a normal ng playthrough? I really cannot be bothered to farm green gear
You can, farming green and orange gear is not really necessary unless you're very invested in the game.
You can, but enjoy the bullshit jump in enemy stats.
I got the dlc but I can't access it. Do I have to beat the game to play it?
Yeah, you would be getting it as you go anyway. Divine is just the next rarity step.
It takes place after the end of the base game, so yes. You're able to get and use the weapons however.
I am legally married to Mashiro
Thanks. I just beat Ishida. Is there still much more?
You're almost done.
How do I farm glory. Want to play as a cute girl to be honest.
Pretty close to the end story-wise.
>tfw want to use spider girl spirit but fire doggo stamina boost is too good
suffering
PvP and co-op are the best methods.
I'm too shy for that, what's third best option?
hopefully DLC3 has a fight as good as Yukimura
Yeah, I was forced into WotS after trying to beat the harder version of Date that is the first side mission of DLC2.
I really wanted a Yasakani and it's fucked that a mandatory piece or equipment is so hard to get.
Ended up getting hooked on gear levels and went in WotD. I became an unstoppable monster with Seven Misfortunes armour / Tateneshi with the Yasakani and then I steamrolled the DLC2.
Then I was like "what the fuck am I doing with my life" as soon as it was 100% complete and now I'm waiting for DLC3.
>tfw everybody's dying in DLC3
Defeat Revenants as many as possible in online mode.
It will probably end with Ninetails boss. I want a hard, cool demon final boss.
>too shy
No one cares about such things, just get over it and have fun being a samurai. The other options would be fighting revenants and donating equipment, which earn much less and can be done alongside the other methods as well.
>DLC3 will have you fight Yukimura and Masamune at the same time
Can't wait to be gangbanged by a unicorn, a dragon, a loli-moth, and an old man.
maybe the reason why they havent given her to us yet is because moth girl actually makes the owner float
>implying Mothfu won't be the final boss after all the teasing
I doubt they will put so much work into a single spirit but it could've been really cool.
At least give her some fun talisman.
What's the best Guardian Spirit for a Living Weapon build? I'm tired of the efficient but now boring paired Raikens.
its what we get instead of a new weapon
Never got the chance to pick this up
Now that the last dlc is on its way, should i just wait for the game of the year edition or whatever ?
knowing KT, you're gonna have to wait a year for a GoTY edition
On the bright side, tonfas are fucking great.
that's fine
The Deluxe edition has been a thing since launch
They are easily the worst weapon type, user.
Odachi is, on the other hand, god-tier.
I think he wants the whole thing for sixty bucks
Are axes good?
axes
too bad hammers are shit
Then wait for a sale/price drop? Why would they release a version of the game that's identical to a currently existing version but for less money?
1kat = kusari > odachi > spear > axe > 2kat > tonfa
Enjoy.
How do I git gud with kusarigama?
Not my fault you're too stupid to go to the cannons first
spam spin
bro come on
a sale or flash sale will not give me the whole fucking thing discounted, it was on sale multiple time, every time it was the base game so they can jew me out on the dlc
Tonfas shred ki like no ones business, they're still viable in way of the demon.
>just being barely viable in the difficulty before the meta difficulty
>Axes for yokai shits
>Sword for revenants and humans
Yasuke knew what's up, it's the best synergy setup.
Your opinion is backwards.
Apply damage self buff.
Is your target a humanoid?
>Black vines -> foot sweep
or
>black vines -> high stance light attack/blade spin/crimson flurry
Is your target a non-human?
>Break their horns with either low or high stance light attack -> reaper them to death
or
>rape them from behind with light stance heavy combo
Do literally anything because it's op and has all the options with no weakness.
But you have to work your way through the volleys to get to the cannons. Are you retarded?
Tonfas are objectively the shittiest weapon type in the game. Their gimmick is awful, they have the worst DPS of any weapon type, they are highly inaccurate and their only real damage dealing ability goes from gunsticks.
>Their gimmick is awful
They actually let you cancel out of attacks. How is that bad?
>they have the worst DPS of any weapon type
By what form of measurement?
>they are highly inaccurate
What? How?
>and their only real damage dealing ability goes from gunsticks.
Speaking of, the game doesn't seem to offer any explanation of how to use gunsticks. What's their deal?
Farm Revenants in WotS on that level at the ice shrine. Should get you about 100ish glory each, then donate ALL the gear they drop. It takes forever but its the easiest way I found. Clear the revenants then let the boss kill you to respawn the revenants. You should get like 2k+ ish glory per run.
The bridge in the second region (I think)
Kill the enemy on the bridge, don't go to the end. Kill revenant.Get killed. Start over
which is why you can make an axe look like a hammer and void the issue entirely
>They actually let you cancel out of attacks. How is that bad?
Their individual attack damage is so fucking bad that you will just end up jumping around doing no damage, at the same time you could kill the boss twice or trice with something like 1kat.
>By what form of measurement?
By the amount of damage you can do.
They cannot match nor night rain nor reaper nor lumber chop nor moonlit snow nor sign of the cross with any of their moves.
>What? How?
Try to do their high stance light combo and notice how awful the tracking is.
> the game doesn't seem to offer any explanation of how to use gunsticks
Oh shit, you're trying to argue with me without even knowing the gimmick of gunsticks?
I feel like i wasted my time.
>Their individual attack damage is so fucking bad that you will just end up jumping around doing no damage, at the same time you could kill the boss twice or trice with something like 1kat.
But that has nothing to do with a gimmick, that's just damage stats. And their damage isn't bad at all.
>By the amount of damage you can do.
>They cannot match nor night rain nor reaper nor lumber chop nor moonlit snow nor sign of the cross with any of their moves.
By what form of measurement? If you're talking about DPS you need to actually record and compare the DPS. Unless of course you're just speaking out of your arse.
>Try to do their high stance light combo and notice how awful the tracking is.
Haven't had any problems with it.
>Oh shit, you're trying to argue with me without even knowing the gimmick of gunsticks?
Yep, because non-gunstick tonfas have already been good enough.
You're right, this was a waste of time.
Are you playing on fucking WotS or something? Tonfas absolutely need the Gunstick trait to be able to keep up with other weapons in DPS on higher difficulties
>But that has nothing to do with a gimmick
All other weapons have meaningful gimmicks that massively boost their usability, Tonfa's gimmick is only used if you're about to get hit which shouldn't ever happen to begin with.
>And their damage isn't bad at all.
Their damage IS bad. Are you on first difficulty?
>By what form of measurement?
By "killing the bosses before they can react" measurement.
>Yep, because non-gunstick tonfas have already been good enough.
See how you fare on wotw fuckboy.
>too shy
Lol the fugg?? You don't even need to use your mic in this game.
If this was Destiny that's understandable.
Do you think they'll make a GOTY edition after the last dlc comes out or around Christmas or so?
a year after
the deluxe edition exist goddamn read the thread
I love how the odachi was almost the worst weapon in the game in DLC1 and suddenly became top tier between it and DLC2
Should I buy any of the DLC if I have no plan on playing on WOtS or WotD? I'm having a hard enough time withe vanilla difficulty, so if the DLC is dependent on you playing the higher difficulty levels....
If you're struggling with the main game outside of the bullshit 2-bosses-at-once side missions then it's quite likely you won't be able to beat the DLC at all.
sure but you'll be missing value
its not THAT hard to catch up, its not like a WRPG where you have to constantly sweat on getting the exact one you get until wotw
and greens are still viable in WoTW
they're definitely for people who want the gameplay
When I played the first mission at a friend's place we got shitloads of good drops. Lots of green rarity drops and you can also easily farm swordhills for gear because so many people bite the dust. Only got to the first boss though and that one was pretty fucking hard.
