Having difficult damaging anything, seems fun anyway.
If you're on Tactician, don't split your party between physical and magical, at least not in the first act.
I'm having a lot of fun because I play with my best buddy and we already played the first one together.
9/10 co-op experience
Make it a point to gear yourself up properly and damage should come much easier. Crafting weapons early in the game can be really effective since they will always craft into items that are your level.
There's a thread in the catalog already

Keep it to one, fags
Now you are telling me that my dream team classic RPG party of thief/warrior/mage/healer is off the table?
Nah, don't listen to that guy, it's brutal in the first act, yes but when you get stronger things get easier and your party will be just fine
this isn't /vg/ faggot, people talk about video games here whenever they want
It's fucking fun. I took Friday off and played a ton for 3 days straight.
Using a custom character- human berserker (2h war/poly)
Beast - sword and board (war/aero)
Sebille - pure rogue (scoundrel
Lohse - Support/Burn (hydro/pyro)
Generally use Lohse to buff constantly. She throws out damage when buffs and heals are on CD. Also has teleport so I can throw nerds like animals onto scaffolding where they can't get back or throw melee enemies away after using their AP to get to me.
>just arrived at the boat
>about to take a much needed break from playing all day
>just skipping through some dialogue when recruiting back my party
>accidentally fucked the lizard
I'm using a split party in the first act and doing fine. Cleared several of the hard encounters already without a problem.
go back to >>/vg/ you newfag
Haven't finished it yet, but the difficulty so far spikes at the beginning, is very moderate after the fort and spikes again near the end of the first arc. Also fuck that witch encounter.
>shitty thread about Pillars of Eternity
What is this autism?
>accidentally
Nice
Me and my buddy are having as much fun as we had with the first one. Too bad he's not as available to play as he was back then.
I'm thinking of starting a solo run, but I'm really afraid I'll burn out on the game.
>accidentally
No accidents when it comes to the Red Prince
But I've been really liking my interactions with him as an skeleton lizard.
Been replaying through the first one on easy mode since I got stuck at the sand area with the fucking spiders last time
your thread is troll thread so fuck you
I really can't fathom what kind of people who can manage to coop a long ass crpg.
Only fights that I found difficult in the first act were Radeka and Alexandar. Both fights took me like 40-60m to overcome. Those fucking beetles bruh. why does almost every fucking enemy have ranged? Those zombies whipping out spells made me shit my ass
Playing it very. very slowly. like, an hour a day maybe. I have almost no time to play it but I love the inventory management and taking things slowly.
Just got off the boat after spending two and a half hours on it just talking, examining, and stealing everything that wasn't ties down and/or on fire. I felt so silly when i realized that barrels don't have any value and it's the items inside that causes them to actually have value.
Are party-members people you can change in and out like in fallout or are they a "pick e now or you'll never see me again" thing?
mfao what a dipshit
How are people building really OP archers? I'm still only level 5, but only doing like 10-13 damage with high ground.
Any tips? My archer skills may be lacking too. I only have pin, richochet shot and i forget the last.
People with friends? People who regularly play pen and paper role playing games? People used to Dungeons and Dragons? It's not as uncommon as you might assume.
I'm having a lot of fun.
But i feel like a pleb because i'm soloing since i suck at managing a party.
Also, thank you for whomever helped me with that jump skill! My Rogue fucking shreds mages now.
This game is honestly surprisingly amazing. I've been craving this since replaying the Summoner a few months ago (no one remembers that game )
How is polymorph good for a 2h warrior ? i'm intrigued.
I do think it's a bit weird too, to be honest, but it works nicely.
The only real regret I have is that, while he does enjoy reading everything, he does so at a fast pace and tends to skip the voices. I don't mind that much since I am a fast reader, but I also feel I'm not enjoying it as much as I would be were I playing alone and at my own pace.
I'm doing it with my girlfriend. She sucks somewhat, but were only doing it on Classic mode.
Tip is to get a high damage weapon. All non-mages are extremely gear reliant. The chances that you will get the best drops for just want to play the first few levels are slim but you'll have more choices later.
Nice
I failed my first attempt at Tameka because she kept stunning my ranged character. Reloaded and reported her ass right into the middle of my melee guys and destroyed her. The zombies and beetles were easy pickings after that.
Flight and extra CC for once you rip the armor off.
It's all about the weapon for physical damage. All the skills and attributes are just bonus modifiers applied to your weapon damage so with a bad weapon you just can't do shit.
I just mean that it's hard enough to watch a TV show with a friend or loved one how are you going to have the patience to do that with something that lasts ten times as long.
Thanks.
Radeka*
I guess that's what I get for phoneposting.
I'm probably halfway through the game, but a painful nagging inside my head wants me reset and play as an Elf wizard. I now respeccing is a thing, but since this was my first play through and reading through a lot of opinions here, it's really clear that I missed a shitload of secret stuff in Act 1.
Like shit I didnt even know there was an arena or you could make the cat your pet.
When it's a game that you're all invested in, it becomes something else though. Also a good bonding experience that's good for learning about each other's personalities.
Actually building on this!
I beat the arena, than those guys asked me to kill my party. I said no. I can't do anything else after that?
Another question, I killed the main Judge guy on the island, was I supposed to? He seemed like an asshole. I murdered him, fled, and came back to kill his mages and guards after. He was a tough fuck.
Heart of Steel
Flight
Extra attribute points for every point in poly. It provides tons of utility. My berserker can charge, phoenix dive and fly to get around quickly. Also can benefit from buffs like frost armor, haste, presence of mind (or w/e) + beast and Lohse have teleports. Beast can also give super high evasion for 1AP and can Nether Switch.
No one escapes.
Will I survive if I make a party of Band of Thieves?
I have a 4 aero hydro build and its stomping everything.
Teleproting rushers away. Pulling archers into clumps into ice airstrikes is amazing. Cant be burned. Poision washes away. Everything is either stunned, Getting stunned or frozen.
Feels amazing.
Is flight = phoenix dive?
Who? Alex? He's a Godwoken like you, and he'll come back even if you kill him. Just like you can.
If you beat the arena, I think an NPC will offer to take the collar off the champion.
As for killing Magisters, no there's no consequence. They're free Exp.
which kind of party do you recommend?
I play as fane
my current party consists of
>red prince
>sebille
>ifan
I'm just at the beginning, level 3 on all 4 chars, met Beast, seems like a pretty cool guy who doesn't afraid of anything.
should I trade sebille for beast? the few battles I had (in the dungeons and in that arena) all were successful with the party I have now.
will I gain something from having beast?
I'm giving it a try despite being a cRPG noob, and I feel like I'm missing something. I've already run across two unwinnable encounters, and I still feel like I'm in the tutorial area. I understand that some paths will probably be blocked off by high level enemies, but so early? I feel like there's something I'm not understanding about the combat or some other mechanic.
I murdered half of the prison. How bad did i fuck up?
Pheonix dive is warfare, which makes no sense to me. Could have sworn it used to be pyromancy.
The guy who makes the elf a mind controlled slave. I kinda walked in on him sentencing her and I murdered him for his huge ass hammer that no one in my party used.
Neat.
I'm going to try to kill that boss in the torture room too then.
>All these plebs having actual difficulties in tactician when me and my buds are breezing through it.
Just how fucking bad can you get?
how does one get behind the guarded gates? I've been everywhere else. should I simply fight the guards?
Nah, I have Flight AND Phoenix Dive.
I knew from playing the early access that I wanted to play a berserker with Phoenix Dive and Whirlwind. My build has obviously quite a lot.
Also, I wish chain lightning didn't require a source point.
remove your summoner from party
Youll get better once you learn the game. Its like playing X-com with more skills and stats. I had trouble too, but there are so many neat tricks you can use to give you an upper hand.
Get creative, the game lets you, like teleporting rushing melee characters away from you.
Is this a good game to start with for cRPG beginners?
Theres about 5 or so ways to the rest of the island. Dont worry about the gate
Honestly, I feel like most of the difficulty one feels at the beginning is due to the lack of equipment. The enemy has tons of armor and resists CC and meanwhile your party just gets steamrolled with all sorts of effects. Try taking it slow and picking easy fights until you get some more armor, that's really the key of it all I feel.
If you want I can give you a cheese strat to get some decent armor and exp so you can get going. Only caveat is that you need to around level 3, probably.
Get the teleport glove off the gators on the beach, and to the right you can drop a ladder for your party by teleporting someone up there.
What couples with Scoundrel? Started off as Witch (Scoundrel/necro) but the necro (apart from the situationally OP lifesteal) seems a bit of a waste.
my scoundrel (the edgy female party member) is underwhelming, should I respec into into hunter?
Rogues gets really great later.
Add some polymorph abilities to help with mobility and cc
Does anyone know if living armor (talent) procs on necro leech healing?
>make dumb bait OP
>ask people to use his thread
I have no idea what polymorph is
It's a combat ability (school). Gives druid-like things but is also a decent off-spec because it gives free attribute points.
It's pretty lite on actual RPing, but the combat is very entertaining to help you pull off through an otherwise mediocre script. That said, the customization is really something. You'd probably be stuck for several minutes picking on what character you want to make.
Give it a go if you'd like.
Nude mods when?
Porn mods when?
Mod when?
Wow! It turns out if you talk shit about the game in the OP people don't want to go there!
Alright i am buying it then thanks.
I'm playing a shadowblade scoundrel/polymorph which is fun as fuck. Poly is great
Anyone fucked around with Lone Wolf is Classic and above difficulty? Does it work well?
I don't get it. Alot of Sup Forums are slamming this title, so I strayed away. But Steam reviews and occasionally threads like this are glowing.
This, having extra fodder with no consequence makes the game a breeze.
I dont understand why you consider Sup Forums a good place to find if a game is good or not. Only Nintendo games really get praised because this site is largely kids and Nintendo fanboys.
Does elemental arrowheads apply to melee attacks too?
A board in which people try to earn some sick net buxx by shitposting and using the same tired jokes over and over again slammed something popular? No. Fucking. Way.
>Thread makes fun of Divinity: Original Sin 2
>Someone is so butthurt that they make a new thread about it that is positive
>Other thread has way more replies and people participating in it
>Mods delete negative thread
Nice circle-jerk.
Anyways, as I was saying:
It's like this shitty description non-writing. Why use the effort to write well when you can just put shitty descriptions? It even adds to the roleplaying, according to cocksuckers.
From the other thread
>The tag is completely meaningless. 90% of it's content is being a slightly larger dick than another dialogue option in place. It's just a little bonus for choosing a bunch of evil options.
That's not a defense of the shit tag system. If anything, it's just you saying it's useless. Why put it there in the first place, then?
>Other thread got deleted because Larianiggers were getting BTFO too hard
kek
What are you talking about?
There were tons of threads hitting bump limit a few days before the release, with the majority of posters praising the game
it's amazing either way, only 60 hours in so far, loving it thoroughly
Did you really have to make a whole new thread because you were too triggered at the OP?
works fine for me
hard as fuck, but doable
>it's
They deleted it because the thread was cycling into the same 4 posts over and over again, genius.
I'm kinda ok with you simpletons happy with this lolsorandum turd of a game but can you please, at least use the OFFICIAL Sup Forums name for this crap?
"Kiddynity unoriginal sin"
Kiddynity stands for terrible, childish sense of humor, lack of mature themes and general goofyness of all sjwrian games
Unoriginal because game is most generic, shitty fantasy game without any originality
Sin, because it's a sin that this fucking turd even exist
Use the official name, it's not that hard
even for people like you
Sup Forums hates everything that's popular except Nintendo shit. This place became reddit after the Tortanic memes.
Is this shit still random generated loot? I hated that crap
Tactician difficulty feels like an after thought. I have a hard time believing anyone tested it and thought it was fun.
It's a good game if you want to have what is called "fun." I know, gross right?
>Random loot that gets scaled to your level
Indefensible
looks really generic
You are falling for bait and samefag shitposting.
The majority of this board likes the game, Larian are good devs that dont just wanna pull money outta your pocket.
There doesn't have to be a purpose for it, it's a bonus tag to mark the fact that you are a cunt.
How SJW is this game? I hear it's infested with leftist politics. I don't need that shit in my games and I don't want to support more of it in video games by buying this.
^^
