Is this game going to be that easy?
Is this game going to be that easy?
yes
Its probably gonna be easy seeing as how 3D World was.
95% of it will be too easy.
The other 5% will be infuriatingly difficult.
This seems to be the way modern Mario games are.
Every mario since 3 has been easy.
3D World was easy up to World 6. 7-8 are already midly challenging. Everything after them is hard. Champion's Road is hell.
>Punishment for dying are just coins
Yes, it is going to be the easiest Mario in a long time.
That is extremely irrelevant
At least you lose something of value, instead of losing one of 99 infinitely respawning lives.
extremely easy, also short
but it'll be a calming and interesting, exploring around
>also short
source
Are coins important in Odyssey?
>Is this game going to be that easy?
Every mario has been easy
lol
>short
source?
Every Crazy Cap shop seems to have two vendors, one in a purple hat and one in a yellow hat. The one in the purple hat sells stuff for the local purple coins, and the one in the yellow hat sells stuff for global yellow coins.
Isn't there going to be like 20+ moons in each world?
There's 69 in Tostarena alone
I don't particularly care about the difficulty of 3D Mario games. I just care if they're fun. 64 and Sunshine are piss easy, but everyone loves them.
>"short"
This game is looking like the longest in the series.
Not as easy as your mother.
>Champion's Road is Hell
You're not being serious, right? It's the hardest level in the game sure but it's not THAT hard. Something tells me you don't play an awful lot of games if you can call Champion's Road "hell".
Every mario has been easy
I'm not the guy who said it was short I'm just correcting him on the number
Personally I'm excited because I think this game will top 64 as my favorite 3D mario
Lost Levels, bro.
>baby franchise sold on a baby console from a baby company to baby fucking manbabies
gee I wonder
The last time I got a game over in a Mario game was Mario Galaxy and I was a young lad when I played that game
Besides Game Overs are a really outdated concept
they should really have difficulty settings. Like, on easy mode you get 3 hits before death, but on hard you only get 1. Also on hard the enemies move faster and change up their tactics.
Pretty much every open world game is short as fuck if you just do the main missions / story etc
I just want to see a game that has a real game over. i.e., when you get game over, you gotta play the whole game again all the way from the beginning.
I think you'll be able to influence the difficulty much more than you were in NSMB or 3DL/W. The open-world design means it's not a linear course from beginning to end, you can choose how you go there. I just watched video where someone got to the checkpoint by picking a much more difficult path than they could have, which involved more difficult acrobatics
Granted its still a Mario game, but I think the challenge will be there, and there will also be particularly difficult challenges as there have been in every Mario game
Here's your reply
It's going to be easy until that "reward level" for collecting all the moons
There's plenty of Roguelikes on the market
>2007
>young lad
10 years ago I was 9
Sorry to disappoint you, gramps
get off my chinese cartoon imageboard
Yeah. It's like how you can make Kirby's Epic Yarn really really hard if you choose to use your tongue for the controller instead of your fingers.
Name one challenging 1st party sony game from 7th gen to current gen.
uncharted 1
lol
btfo
There's not even a failure state, so it'll be easy by definition.
Will the switch go out of fucking stock again when this releases?
>Videogames
>Having a failure state
If it doesn't kill you in real life, the game is too easy
Will any modern Mario game, present or future, live up to the glory of Paper Mario: The Tousand Year Door
>it's fun 5 hours in
Probably. My GameStop sent me an e-mail last month when they restocked and that's when I got one, luckily just in time for Sonic Mania. If you aren't already on their e-mail list I'd do that.
original was better
Fuck. I'm so on the fence. I competed BOTW on wii u so that's done (also Mario kart). I'd like to play sniper clips with my gf but dunno how much reply value it has. I was so ready to buy if animal crossing got announced but Nintendo seem to hate money.
I fanboy hard for both.
I think in the last Nintendo Direct they announced an extended version of Snipperclips with a lot more content.
Plus there's stuff out now like Splatoon 2 and ARMS, and stuff on the way like the new Kirby and Metroid Prime if that interests you.
Yeah I'm pretty gay for Kirby, however that robot 3DS one was boring as shit. I'll probably pull the trigger one day when I'm bored and done with XCOM DLC.
Robobot is generally agreed to be one of the best games in the series though?
>Is a Mario game post World going to be easy?
Is it? Holy shit perhaps I hate Kirby now. I found it totally boring.
it'll probably take an hour per level if you want to discover all of the shit
People really like the new abilities, story, characters, that final boss, the meta knightmare returns mode with its own amazing final boss, all that good stuff. I found it really enjoyable, personally. In fact I think all I have left to do to 100% it is like, the True Arena mode, and I'm just garbage at those.
lol
I assume getting to Bowser must be a as challenging as any other Mario game but I hope that getting 100% is actually hard like Sunshine or Galaxy 2. It's gonna be a great game.
It'll probably be a pretty comfortable ride until the post game Ramps up the difficulty x10 as most modern Mario games tend to do.
Though seeing as this is an exploration based Mario, the challenge will come from collecting everything.
World was easy as balls.
An easy game isn't necessarly not fun.
A hard game isn't necessarly fun.
Think what you want. To this day it is considered by many Mario fans one of the hardest levels in all 3D Mario games. And it's not just me saying this. If you are a suped duper pro that can't do anything wrong, good for you, I guess. But it doesn't make the level less hard.
the maps aren't that big
probably more difficult than 64 and sunshine but easier than galaxy?
Why do people make a big deal when a Nintendo game is not as hard as it could be but never bat an eye when the AAA industry shits out piss easy "press X to win" games that are made for brainless people on the regular all the time?
Because those games aren't on Nintendo consoles, so they can't make fun of them.
Bloodborne
>playing open 3D Mario for the difficulty
Many of the moons are gained from exploring or solving a puzzle, so you will probably get a bunch of them without much difficulty, and for all we know maybe you can beat the whole game just getting moons like those. On the other hand, there's almost certainly going to be some moons that are hard to find or are behind some sort of puzzle challenge so if you're going for those or 100% expect some difficulty.
Also, since they're removing the lives system, the developers might be a lot more open to having challenging parts which can kill you dozens of times since you won't be getting game overs anymore.
