So now that TGS was a shitshow for people who care about Fromsoft dark fantasy games we have time to speculate about their future titles. What would you want them to do for a new dark fantasy title? What themes and ideas would you like them to explore?
From Software's next dark fantasy game
TGS isnt over retard
something very "insert author/artist"-esque/ian to be quite honest
Well has From been presenting anything at TGS?
it lack diversity
I wonder if they even have just 1 feemale working at their studio
Diversity in what exactly, environments? Themes? Gameplay?
Oh they have. I remember one of the Souls ecelebs, might have been enb, talking about the Elite Knihht set in Dark Souls 1 and it was designed by a female to my recollection.
Btw if anyone wanted to see Miyazaki's workstation...
Sci-fi, but none of the boring functionalism and tired modern culture infesting it. Make it dark, baroque, alien, secretive, etc.
>themes and ideas
Dark souls was about how shit was fucked because the nature of the world, bloodborne was about how shit was fucked due to the influence of a higher species, so I think this game should be about how shit is fucked because of what we inflicted on ourselves, no outside force of primordial gods or great old ones.
The locale could be some sort of isolated cylindrical habitat. The same "see that castle? You can visit it" but that castle could be hanging over your head. Shit went fucked, you're running around doing stuff, cloning technology is running amok which is why you get to respawn, etc.
also find a way to integrate ranged combat into the melee systems that makes both of them as fun and core to the combat as each other, while making them play nice together (how to do that is another question though)
and it would be really nice if they could lift some imagery from beksinksi, he's such a good artist
>integrate ranged combat into melee systems
I mean From also does Armored Core so they should have SOME expertise in that area.
he's just shitposting
Why couldn't the game have actually looked this way instead of the shit stain color pallet that we got?
I see.
>beksinski
Holy shit, if you could attain the atmosphere of his works in game form it would be the sickest thing ever.
I also like your idea of a game setting, because it would enable the game world to be ridiculously internally interconnected if it was all part of a huge, vertically stacked area.
Dark Souls 3 concept arts a beaut.
this thing even looks like a dark souls boss
but I wasn't talking about a cylindrical tower, I was talking about a hollow rotating cylinder with the inner surface being like the ground. Look up o'neill cylinder if you can't visualize it. It being vertically stacked would make it even more interconnected, but it feels like it would make the whole thing too cramped and labyrinthine. You can see archdragon peak from vordts arena, if it was like a skyscraper how would you be able to see anywhere other than the adjacent room?
Where is that?
That thing is fucking horrifying and reminds me a bit of Rom the Vacuous Spider from Bloodborne.
And now I googled the O'Neill cylinder and understand what you meant a bit better.
That's the Corvian village from the first DLC of Dark Souls 3.
Jesus, he didn't lie when he said it was a total mess.
I just want fast combat, trick/switch weapons, and gun-parries
Like literally they could axe Everything else and I wouldn't care
Oh, have they mentioned its going to be dark fantasy themed?
he makes a lot of scary shit yes
By the way, why were hollows turning into trees on the lothric high wall?
What magic card is that?
They're working on 3 games; Armored Core, the dark fantasy one, and a "weird" one.
Yeah, the transforming weapons are a must at this point. Or at least the direction of fewer weapons, but can you do more with each individual weapon.
>this pic
Looks like those crate monsters in Boodborne.
>why were hollows turning into trees on the Lothric High Wall?
I think that nature claiming back areas like Lothric and the CoA and the overall crumbly / apocalyptic aesthetics and themes were symbolic of everything falling apart from the way of new things. The hollows turning into trees was probably a part of that.
It's also possible that we're returning to another age of ancients after the fire fades.
>and a "weird" one.
I would totally play a japanese comic surrealism soulslike
Yeah, I'm excited about that one too. I like the idea of Miyazaki expanding his boundaries.
>Miyazaki expanding his boundaries
Miyazaki should also expand his fetishes
Interesting, a new Armored Cored sounds really promising.
I honestly hope that "weird" one is pretty much Souls in the Blame! universe with AC combat but even faster and longer range, although i must say it sounds unrealistic, its what i dream of.
from softwares artists are better than nihei though
Without a fucking doubt, but he created a nice universe.
from softwares writers are better too though
I get you though, if they did their own spin on the general idea of Blame! it would be great
>crate monsters in Bloodborne
They're called Cramped caskets if I recall correctly.
Exactly, although one of my fears is that they decide to make the game about Killy or any other character from the series. I said this 3 times now but the key is in UNIVERSE not the characters nor the plot.
Unless From's next title is a sequel to Bloodborne, I don't care.
Bloodborne didn't left room for a sequel, bro.
a sequel to bloodborne wouldn't be a proper sequel
to do a sequel to bloodborne in the spirit of the original you would have to make a new IP
so yeah, I hope they make a sequel to BB
I want a robot game.
A sequel to Bloodborne similar to how Bloodborne was a sequel to Semon's Souls sounds the best.
>Dell Optiplex 740
You gotta be kidding me. We have those machines at work and they're straight up dogshit.
>that character design
>that boss design
this is no better than your average unsuccessful f2p assfaggots/cardgame
Tell me about them and how are they shit?
Looks interesting, that just a photoshop though?
I'ts a general concept, an idea if u will, doesn't have to be EXACTLY that you fucking waste of oxygen.
>Majula pit forty fucking miles out of Majula
>Old Majula
>Old Majula just leads straight to the fucking castle
>Things BeTWIX (wtf) smack dab in the middle of the fucking landscape
>Throne of Want juts out of castle instead of, I don't know, going underground like it's meant to
>The Lost Bastille is connected to the fucking mainland, how the fuck is that "lost"?
>Fucking magma pit next to Brightstone
>Brightstone next to fucking Undead Crypt with no connection
>Dragon Aerie just lumped in with the others even though it's a million miles in the air
Like... Dark Souls II's actual world map didn't make a lot of sense, but holy shit
>general concept
it's literally just dark souls with a shitty sci-fi skin, the guy who made it could have saved time and just said "sci-fi dark souls"
>a game world based on the lovecraft dream cycle
>no room for a sequel
You're joking right?
You realize that some of your complaints are because you fail to reaĺize that there are elevation differences that can't be depicted because the map is in 2d.
I mean, I would love a spiritual successor.
Spiritual successor would be fucking great.
only thing I care about From Software is their amazing art design and world building. Everything else is pretty shit in my opinion. I would like them to do a actual action game so that they are forced to make good gameplay for once
>a spiritual sucessor of a spiritual sucessor to a spiritual sucessor
how deep can we go?
Seriously man all they have to do is take the dream and move it elsewhere. There's nothing stopping that and if they absolutely need more Lovecraft to riff on they really only touched three short stories.
The only thing a sequel to Bloodborne loses is the sudden surprise of aliens, and even that's not much of a surprise since early trailers had Ebrietas in it.
>elbows on the table
fucking degenerates
>anything good from post-souls post-merger from
Haha no.
>forgetting their level design
Spiritual successors swirl and churns unending
>There's nothing stopping that and if they absolutely need more Lovecraft to riff on they really only touched three short stories.
I would love something like At The Mountains of Madness or his stories involving the egyptian pantheon.
>early trailers had Ebrietas in it
Really? The only thing I remember that hinted ayys in the game was that celestial emissary.
What about a level based on that story about a guy who got himself trapped in an invisible labyrinth on venus?
Ebrietas was in the Project Beast trailer in the church where Vicar is now the boss. Of course technically not much has changed since Ebrietas is below that church anyways.
Stop right there, haven't read that story yet. What's the title, btw? A level based on Music of Erich Zann would be sick too. With the level changing its form as some crazy melodies play in the background.
Here we go the obligatory blame poster fuck off you sheep
Can you link the video please? The only video I found has a Cleric Beast in it.
in the walls of eryx
If you're using youtube it's the one that says first gameplay trailer. Ebrietas is at the end of that one. You're looking at the one that says first teaser trailer that has cleric beast in the burning chapel in old yharnam.
>my COMPLETE FICTION book doens't have that story
I was scammed, boys. Thanks anyway, user.
