It's out in about a week. Anyone got their preorder in? Can't wait to use those new controllers.

pretty excited, i really wanna play earthbound on my tv

Would it be more worthwhile to get one of these or a raspberry pi?
Are N64 and PS1 emulation any good on the pi?

You can get one of these mini and load roms onto it through a hack I believe. I doubt N64/PS1 games run smoothly on a pi board.

Raspberry Pi is worth it. N64 is hit or miss, but ps1 emulation is pretty good.

>Preorder
>CANCELLED

Well atleast they will give us another chance next year

Right Sup Forums?

I've been waiting to pre the sfc mini but so far only fucking Amazon.jp had them.

And you couldn't do that before?

Pretty much this. I've always been able, but have never bothered. My TV space is kept simple, don't want raspberry pis and shit connected to it.

Connected my laptop to tv to play these some roms. Holy shit. So many cables. VGA, audio cable, usb cable for controller, power cable for the laptop. All this just to play some old games.

the jp version has shittier games

What about pi3?

Hope you're ready for the n64 Classic Mini, with 5 whole games!

nigga like just buy a raspberry pi

All scalped.

More expensive, more effort to set up.

It'll get hacked anyways. The novelty is having the mini chassis that doesn't look like rat-chewed etsy garbage.

>More expensive
no it isn't

Get the euro version, looks the same as the JP version but with the same games as US. Don't worry EU version is 60hz.

Might end up doing that since they seem to have their shit together over there when it comes to preorders.

I can't wait for someone to dump Star Fox 2.

I still can't fucking find one.

Yes it is.

>RPi 2 + case - £45
>Good power adapter - £5
>x2 good SNES pads - £50 (for 8bitdo - We'll have to pretend they're not wireless as this obviously adds to cost)
>4GB SD card - £5
>Total: ~£150

The SNES mini is £70. Admittedly, the RPi can do more but thats besides the point.

Are there any USB SNES controllers that aren't utter shit?

You can buy a pi bundle that comes with a case and perfectly fine power adapter for a lot less than that. Get buffalo pads, not 8bitdos, they're cheaper and wired and better.

I wasn't aware the snes came with two controllers unlike the nes, so that makes a pi marginally more expensive, but given the fact that you can put any number of games you want from basically any pre-6th gen console makes it really not a valid point against it as an alternative

Why the fuck are people about to buy a 20+ year old console?

Nope. Isn't it possible to use old SNES controllers over USB?

What about buffalo? Worth it or not?

A raspberry pi is smaller than the snes mini and would have less cables since you can use bluetooth controllers. obviously requires more setup though.

If you can suffer with shitty d-pads and super light buttons, sure.

>My TV space is kept simple, don't want raspberry pis and shit connected to it.
It's the same thing as the console it's replacing. The unit itself, a power cable, an HDMI connecting it to the tv, and controllers.

8bitdo makes pretty good clones but apparently the d-pads are hit or miss. mine works great.
they work wired or over bluetooth and are kinda pricey though.

Are you upset?

Well they can't because Nintendo only made like 5 snes mini systems.

Because modern gaming is shite

ukfag here

no we don't. they sold out after an hour all over the country

No they didn't. Amazons stock allocation did. GAME still have them in-stock now...

£50 deposit and you need a GAME card which means you'll get inundated with spam mail.

Actually they will! They're bringing back the NES and the SNES classic next Summer because Reggie fucking hates scalpers

Why does a deposit matter if you're going to buy it? Also I've got a GAME card (which was actually a GameStation Elite card) and I just gave them a disposable email address. It's never actually needed.

Will it be hard to get controllers separately? The SNES controller I had for Wii/Wii U virtual console got lost when I moved and I could use a new one.

ARE YOU LITERALLY FUCKING RETARDED
THEY'RE ARTIFICIALLY SPEEDING UP PAL GAMES
LIKE THEY DID ON THE WIIU ESHOP
DID YOU FUCKING PLAY THE ARTIFICIALLY SPED UP VERSION OF SUPER METROID ON THE WIIU ESHOP

IT WAS FUCKING UNPLAYABLE
THE EU VERSION OF THIS SHIT IS HORRENDOUS
THEY'RE RIPPING YOU OFF
THIS IS Sup Forums YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE INFORMED ON THE TECHNICAL ASPECTS YOU FUCKING MORONS

This isn't true dumbass. The European system has has the same ROMs as the American one. Just like NES Classic

They're not selling controllers separately since there's two with each system.

Damn, I might try to buy one just to get 2 SNES controllers for Wii. I have like 150 VC games.

>bluetooth
No thanks.

>The SNES controller I had for Wii/Wii U
Which one did you get? I've got an NES one but I can't find a good SNES one to plug into the Wiimote.

It was a european club nintendo prize I got on ebay.

Fuck SFC colors and design are so much better than the burger shit.
Never even had a snes and I'm still mad about that shit.

Nope. I'm going to be camping overnight with all the other virgin neckbeards, probably get some good local multiplayer Switch games going, assuming we don't get mugged at 3 AM

Got my preorder in. Can't wait.

You could wmeasiky velcro tape it to the back of a tv.
