Pretty much the story and just the story
Explain!
Game ends just as the story starts picking up. Literal sequel bait. Also, 98% of the characters in the game are bland as hell and some of the replacements are straight up cunts (pilot)
Prague was fun to explore and the gameplay was as good as ever. But it feels like half a game.
>Only 1 real hub, 2 if you count the underground
>Felt 30% as long as the last game
It was ok, but really short. I regret paying full price for it on release.
"Open world" meme that wasn't even open world.
too short, clearly an unfinished product that won't be getting a sequel because nowadays a game isn't a success unless it managed to nickle and dime every single shekel from its customers. gone are the day when games would need to sell x copies to guarantee a sequel, now you need to *provide a service* which a story driven single player game obviously can't do as efficiently
still waiting for it go on sale for 10-15$. was it that much worse than HR?
Somehow shorter than human revolution.
Ended as it was picking up
One singular bossfight
No. As I said before, the only real disappointing thing about it is the story.
And the fact we will never find out what happens to Jensen
HR was actually good
Runs like garbage even on good hardware.
Is the middle child in a trilogy.
who cares about Jensen? I was puzzled at the fact that it's Jensen again when it was first revealed. Each DX had a unique protag til MD.
i know. i loved it.
story i can get through as long as the gameplay carries it
Sloppy optimization.
Games runs off on my PC for no reason, while TW3 can be played on High settings at 40 fps. Explain this shit to me.
I DO
>implying it's still not unique
you play as a clone of Jensen
is this actually true?
who will we play as in the game that bridges MD to DX? assuming that ever happens
soo is it even worth buying if you're just interested in where the story is going?
There was some kind of mistake with this. The entire narrative was an expansion for HR that arrived 5 years late
How can one game be so cucked?
did the original Deus Ex mention anything about a mechanical apartheid?
If they had disclosed that the game was the start of a trilogy, then it would have been considered a good game. It feels shorter than the HR but I think really isn't.
The DLCs are the best thing about it. Especially the prison break one is really fun.
Eh, it's conjecture. In some part of the game (the aug ghetto, I think) there are some cryotubes. Inside is a low quality, untextured model that resembles Jensen (the hexagon on the forehead is clearly visible). It would also make sense with how Jensen has new augs implanted into him.
If Human Revolution was a 5k marathon, Mankind Divided is just a couple steps forward.
Shorter, less weapon variety, way inferior levels (the only good one they showed pretty much in its entirety when they revealed the game for the first time), only one hub that's way worse than both Detroit and Hengsha (Prague is just a gray boring concrete block that is a black hole where no moody atmosphere can exist)), worse characters and a story that feels (and was) cut short, lack of truly interesting new augs, etc.
It's implied
Why no laser dick augmentation?
what would the real Jensen be doing?
tfw I don't even know whose side I'm on
It was mentioned on the side if I remember correctly. The original is so far in the future that being augmented wasn't something out of the ordinary anymore. In HR augmentations are a pretty newish thing.
>allowing shitty Sup Forums opinions to sway your beliefs
Do you just believe everything you read faggot?
I googled it and I found it, it's in the VersaLife vault apparently
Imprisoned by whoever found his body
Prague had a great atmosphere especially at night.
>Imprisoned by whoever found his body
he died?
reminds me of FFVII lol
It is that much on Amazon.
Well he was in Panchaea when it exploded, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's dead
Just read this autist's blog, he sums up everything better than I can
it makes zero sense that augmentations were suddenly made available to everyone, and even they why were they made a plot point to control the population? augments would realistically be only available to the rich
It's definitely better at night, but the vast majority of the game takes place during the day, and iirc half the time you're there at night, the entire city is a hostile area.
you have these eccentric, idealistic rich guys like Sarif pushing to get as much technological advancement out to the masses
Paul Denton.
Poor people were getting augs to do construction work, presumably being paid for by their employers. That's why all of Panchaea went berserk during HR.
so which hub d'you prefer?
I like the stylized Hengsha more. Prague just ain't aesthetic enough.
Augs are viewed with absolute disdain but i don't remember anything about the actual apartheid.
There's a few augmented people here and there like the bar owner or drug dealer.
is worth picking up HR? or is everything that happened there obsolete by this point?
>Augs are viewed with absolute disdain
From what I recall it's because they were outdated, and nano technology was replacing traditional augs?
I made that image specifically to show how much more interesting Hengsha and Detroit look/are.
I think making most of MD take place during daytime is one of its biggest mistakes.
Nah, they actually faced discrimination and i remember certain UNATCO materials that specifically referred to that.
Unpopular opinion here but I liked Prague the most. It was a very different take on a cyberpunk world compared to the other two.
What went wrong is that the game pretty accurately modeled exactly whats happening in our world right now. So the powers that be had it shut down.
Placed on hiatus my ass.
It's worth it for awesome level design and super comfy hubs and interesting side quests. The DLC is also really good, and the director's cut fixed boss fights and added good dev commentary (probably save that for the newly added NG+ though)
>The DLC is also really good
It would if it didn't remove all your fucking skill points.
Too short and sequel bait. Gameplay was good though.
by not being cyberpunk at all?
>fixed boss fights
how?
You're thinking about it the wrong way. While your skills points are removed, it's excellent that the level was designed so that skill points aren't needed for anything. And it's hard to present that design when you have skills.
-this- is the Deus Ex that I want. If Utulek was the hub, I would have liked it waaaay more.
It's a pain, but also a bit of an interesting challenge, at least the first half.
By making non-combat builds actually viable. They added ways to hack stuff and other indirect ways of taking bosses down instead of just shooting them.
It takes up 76gb on my hard drive.
just canadians ruining everything as usual
still a massively stupid plotline, companies won't even pay for training yet now will drop a fortune on augments for unskilled labor instead of a forklift?
I liked the story but yeah it ended pretty badly, not a satisfying ending at all. I liked the sidequests but the way they handled them at the end was terrible. Especially after something like W3.
>I liked the sidequests but the way they handled them at the end was terrible
What do you mean?
Dishonored 2 came along 3 months later and did everything way better than Mankind Divided.
Deus Ex was the last franchise I expected to get so cucked
The story was pretty meh, half of the new cast is underdeveloped or boring, ends with a cliffhanger, only one hub. Other than that, it's pretty good.
It literally got cucked with its second game
it was just a poor game, not cucked
It's not a bad game, it was just too short imo.
The way they resolved at the end. The reporter lady just said the events of the sidequests in a news report.
>it wasn't yellow enough!
>Dude let's take game about Illuminati and force some racism shit into it as an allegory for current year!
>make game set in Prague
>can't even hire ONE fucking person who would check the grammar for them
it's MW3 all over again
