Surely you've completed that chip library you were working on, right?
So what boss annoyed you most to fight? I haven't played in many years, but I'll always remember being annoyed at fighting Sharkman. Especially because I was younger then so I wasn't as good. Fuck him and his stupid fins. In fact, fuck most bosses with adds.
I'd have to go with SharkMan too, honestly. I know the real one doesn't show the same buster impact as the fake fins, but he's still annoying, especially when one of the fins is in perfect sync with him. Been playing the games for years, but he's still very very frustrating.
Bump, don't leave me hanging guys.
Would anyone know how someone would have to go about editing the text in a Battle Network game? Nothing besides 5DS has been translated outside of English, and I'd like to give translation a shot so French people could experience the games as well, but the people who actually translated the first two games I tried to contact never replied to me...
I've been meaning to create a MMBN thread. I missed out on the 'finished content' patches for the Japanese version of Greiga. Does anyone have the links? And a clean ROM of JP Greiga?
Posting best cross beast in the mean time. Actually you know what, all of Greiga crosses and beasts are best. There is not a single one that is bad, unlike Faltzer, who has shitty Aqua and fucking Dust. I mean Dust, fucking really?
I liked the nes and snes megamans, would I necessarily enjoy BN?
forums.therockmanexezone.com
I believe this is what you're talking about?
>Talking shit about my buddy AquaMan
I'll fight you.
The BN games have nothing to do with the classic ones. While classic is a platformer, this one is an action RPG where you fight on a grid. You can send attacks (called chips) to MegaMan, which allows him to use moves such as swords, cannons, various virus abilities, summon other Navis (that's the name of the sentient programs in this game) to do moves for you, etc...
Nah, too busy playing F/GO.
Capcom would make millions if they made a BN mobage with all the gacha and shit, but then again its Capcom
It's a little different in that it's more of an Action RPG/Card Collector but it's really fun. I'll see if I can find you some videos on mods people have done, especially this one I found a while back that was pretty intense in showing how battles worked. I think it was a mod on increasing Boss HP and adding OC chips. If you don't hear back from me, I couldn't find it.
...
I'm making a fangame that mixes stuff from all 6+ BN games into one battle engine.
What kinda shit do you guys wanna see return?
I'd play a romhack of 6 where shit from both games was combined into a single game.
No, I don't have any interest in completing the chip library in any BN.
Here's a link to a prepatched version of Gregar.
mega.nz
I've also included my own personal patch for Blue which adds chip images for the White exclusive Giga chips. It also incorporates the Wii U VC patch, which lets you get Delta Ray and BassGS by entering the Comm option in the main menu.
Wouldn't we all? I would play that for any game in the series, really.
Oh shit, you go on Sup Forums? I came across your blog once, and thought the stuff you were making was really neat.
Like half of the bosses in BN3 are tied for most annoying imo.
Dunno, I find Drillman more annoying than Sharkman.
Yeah dude, I'm a regular. I don't tripfag or shit like that though.
getting chips like Lava Stage * and Ice Stage * was honestly the hardest thing in those games.
...
I haven't played through MMBN3 in so many years, but I recall Drillman being a cunt. Did he constantly drill forward whilst invulnerable except to breaking chips? Like Guts Punch or something.

God no, BN is an abomination compared to real MM games.
Surprisingly he was one of the easier fights for me, but only because I had the customizer piece that allowed me to damage enemies through their guards or whatever, without that I'm sure I would have hated him as much as a lot of others in BN3.
I'm afraid the closest thing is a patch that restores all the shit that was cut out of game when it was localized.

Oh my god. OMG. I actually found it. Sifting through youtube video shit, I actually found the video. Warning: In no way do I condone downloading or supporting this patch, I'm only showing you how battles work, and I thought the way this dude battled in his video was pretty fun to watch.
Skip to 1:37 for the actual battle. There's this fight, and one more after it showing OC donut steel chips.
If I remember right the key to killing him is just to use a sensor.
It sometimes hits him 2 or 3 times. It's really good if you ice stage and then he takes like 400 damage from a single sensor and gets locked in place for a bit...
I mean you could just use flashman. Flashman works on everything.
AquaMan is THE best NetNavi and DustCross has trash chute
>kirby fans have AirRideGuy who is remaking Air Ride on PC for them
>battle network fans have Anonymous3D who is remaking Battle Network for them
And they said Sup Forums was shit
Oh hey, thanks a lot anons! I really appreciate it! How exciting, I never thought I'd get to play the post content stuff, but now this gives me a reason to start a new 6 run.
Be the change you want to see.
Any chance for broken as fuck Geo from OSS as some kind of ultimate reward?
Falzar's Crosses are based around gimmicks, while Gregar's Crosses are meant to be straightforward

im down for any design where the ass isnt a solid block of metal. the nt and bn series were true godsends

Standard and Mega complete in White. Never got PA complete Because I put a second Rockcube * in the chip trader not knowing I needed it for the Momquake PA. I put chips and bugfrags into traders for months trying to get another one before giving up forever So obviously never got Giga complete either
>4
Standard, Mega, Giga, and PA compete in Blue Moon
>5
>Implying I completed 5's library

Stardard, Mega, Giga, and PA complete in both games
surely you have forgiven capcom...
It bugs me that when the title for the first three games in Japan was "Battle Network Rockman EXE" that you don't make use of that for the TTGL logo parody
I never had investment in the Legends series because I haven't played them. That said I can empathize with the pain they felt from that day. And considering some of the bullshit they do today, Capcom makes it really hard to like them.
Yeah, actually. Oh well, too late now.
I can never forgive Capcom for canning Rockman Online.
...
Why wasn't Starforce based on the X series instead of weird sentai aliens?
I don't know if it's just me, but I can't seem to get your link to work.
Also, if this post ends in 4, I deleted you. Because that's how Killer Cross works
i want big anime tiddies on lan's mom
She ain't appearing
>Princess Pride was basically a super terrorist in her debut
>Released because she's really really cute
>Count Zap still in prison
Wait does that mean Mr. Match got released because he's cute too?
Put big anime tiddies on Protoman then.
Match got released because hotdogs.
>Killercross gets eye lasers that hit anything and unlucky number 4
>Killerbeast just gets poison tail
What a rip off. They could've came up with something better than that
...
She was forced into working for the cyber police. Match was released because he is a massive fucking faggot.
Got a model for roll?
you want big anime titties? I better add this then
Meddy has a hime cut!
>I haven't played them
why don't you? its really good
Which one? I did a model of Roll from Legends and a friend contributed the Roll model for EXE ver
best fem navi
I'll suck your dick if you add them no no no tho
Are you going to adjust that model to fit with the artstyle of the others?
It's always just escaped me. To be fair I'm still working my way through the classic and X series too. I've played every Battle Network game sans 1 and 2 a million and two times. Just felt wrong that I somehow skipped all the others.
I\m surprised Capcom hasn't made some sort of Megman Battle Network MMORPG, make custom NetNavis, fight or explore the internet. Hell it can also be linked up to a mobile app or something.
I guess Capcom hates money.
are you gonna try smearing in your animations?
I'm kidding. I'd rather die than add that fucking piece of shit
I've been thinking about it. The most I would do is adjust the face texture to be more in line with Meddy and so on.
Now post Roll Soul. Because that's the actual best fem navi.
>best fem navi
i can tell you're using blender. did you use any online courses to learn (like the ones from udemy) or are you self taught or what? how long did it take you to get to this level of modelling? also, your models seem to be heavily inspired on megaman legends, i think it's the shading but i don't understand enough to be sure. so you just practiced a lot with mml models as reference?
Haven't made him yet
I've been working on new animations here and there, but the game's gotta come out someday. Can always go back and fix the worst stuff later.
Why have Roll if you can have best navi in your PET? (pic related)
Picked up Battle Network 1 for the third time and I'm getting more into it. Any general tips for building a good folder? Right now I'm typically just swapping in one chip at a time if it's a straight upgrade but I typically don't get more than two chips equipped per turn in battle. Is there a rule of thumb for how many different letters of code my deck should have so they combine better, say no more than 5 letters? Right now they're all over the place but I have a few chips with 4-6 of the same code letter.
A MMBN phone game using starforce's battle system would be fucking perfect. Piss easy to control, already have a vertically oriented battlefield, even have a lock on feature from star force
Self-taught, I just had a style in mind and went with it. Pic related was my first (shitty) model and it just evolved from there.
Been modeling for 3 years, but took me 2 years to get really confident in my modeling.
I'm doing a tutorial vid on how I model, if you're interested. Basically I'm livestreaming it while explaining action by action what I'm doing on mic.
Why were they like zero Battle Network clones?
I know there's that lego browser game or whatever.
Used to play Red Sun religiously. Although I don't think I ever collected all the chips necessary to fight Bass in the undernet(?).
Revolution 60's battle gameplay seems like a cheap clone of BN.
Well there's Shanghai.EXE.
1-3 different codes per folder is ideal. However, you're playing BN1 which doesn't get access to the * code chips, so 2-3 is fine, I think. S is good in pretty much every game, and it has access to the LifeSword PA, so that's a good one to shoot for.
When, Sup Forums? FUCKING WHEN?! I NEED IT!
would be nice if you could post a youtube link or something, i'll watch it later. i want to learn modelling with blender but right now i'm trying to finish my masters and learn japanese, besides my job, so i don't have the energy to do it. once i finish my masters though, i intend to dive into it. udemy has some really extensive courses on it, i'll try to use them and see how it goes i think. though i'm more interested in modelling stuff as the nips do, so i'm not sure if using western classes/non weeb references will end up being good
>masters
Hey, doing one right now too!
The main skills are the same, aesthetics afterwards will just depend on what you practice most.
I'm not sure when I will finish the tutorial but just keep track of my twitter (@heatphoenix) or the game's blog/twitter and it'll come by there when it's done/live.
Custom, so powerful it's hard to pass.
Proto soul for SWORDS
Slash cross for SWODRS
Protoman.exe because he uses SWORDS
VarSword for QUADRUPLE SWORDS

Team Style felt like such a waste
>One extra Megachip
I'm still super butthurt that we didn't get a cool looking FlameMan.EXE. BN3 would have been the ideal perfect game in my eyes. Like God came down from heaven and directly handed you the cart himself. I will never let it go.
I just remembered that one rainmeter skin.
MagicMan.EXE
That son of a bitch kept wrecking my ass after the Point Of No Return and the one time I DID beat him... the final boss fucked me over sideways.
Similarly I had incredible difficulty with Alpha and Gospel.
Because God hates you.
Battle Network seems like it'd be real easy to make a fan game for.
Well I would say dark chips but even though they were brilliantly designed and offered a very welcome change of pace and alternative way to play the game
I know a thousand people who never actually gave them a fair shot or understand how and why they were so brilliant will greentext me to hell.
So I'll settle for the next best thing, some incarnation of bug style,
Oh and I guess the other styles too or whatever.
Turning bugs that normally would be thought of as a a hindrance into an advantage is so satisfying.
Especially with the later inclusion of chips like Static that power up the more bugs you have.

How far along is this? Never heard of it before but sounds sick
You looking for help with anything?
Getting the frame data to line up is a pain in the ass. It always feels like you are slightly faster or slower than the original games and it fucks with muscle memory.
>Heat Ground for floor breaking
>Colonel for Arm Change
>Charge for Charge Tackle and trains
>AquaMan because he's the absolute cutest
>HubBatch
It can still happen, in a way. I did lame Flame Man EXE as a commission for someone, could do cool Flame Man too.
I've been adding beta/unused designs to my game as I also have a fascination with unused stuff, see: twitter.com
Bug Style is in the works. Been thinking about Dark Chips, but permanent HP penalty would not work for the type of game I'm trying to make.
I just need more time, school is swamping me but it's coming along. Just tell yer friends (that like MMBN), the more eyes on this the better it is for me in the long run.
Never, since Capcom's allergic to money
It's not terribly far enough along. It's one person working on it on his spare time. He only ever posts about it in Sup Forums kirby threads, so there's no links to share or anything.
He was saying that he might have a demo available near the end of September, though.
Aqua Man the cutest, huh?
That's what I thought, but between some 2D stuff not transferring to 3D well and the general complexity of the BN engine it's actually been a challenge.
This is also my first 3D game
Dark styles major problem is that once you go Dark you can never go back. Ever. Because you nerf your HP down to 1 and you can never get it back. So if you're playing Dark and then suddenly you decide you want to make a Protosoul folder then you have to dedicate huge program space to installing HP+1000 so you don't die in one hit.
Also for all the risks you take on for the damage bonus you get for Dark style, you can get similar bonuses with Full Synchro. And all it takes is learning the counter timings for NPCs which aren't that bad. Dark style just needed to be balanced a bit better.
Just make the HP loss temporary or have it not be there and just glitch the player.
Shanghai.exe has pretty much no penalty for dark chips from what I remember, but then again the game gives you plenty of other bullshit to use anyways.
Even though that's the way he stands in game I wish GBeast stood on all fours
Maybe if I make an animation for the beasts I'll go with that, would look cool probably (if my model doesn't start clipping).
I've been thinking either bugs or -200 max HP on use or something for that battle.
