Switch isn't a competitor to the PS4, it's its own thing. It will never get the huge range of games the PS4 has, but the PS4 won't be ever portable or have Nintendo franchises.

Get either a PS4 or PC and a Switch, best coverage there

It had literally only Bloodborne until 2016. The rest were ports and HD rereleases. Most of the good games for the PS4 have PC releases, like Nier.

PS4 has the biggest amount of multiplats, if you buy a PS4 then you have most of the games that would be available on PC, either buy a PS4 or a PC, depends on what you are interested.

I need software and a heavy rig for my job to render shit so I enjoy a gaming PC. But if someone doesn't need that he could easily get a PS4 and be more convenient. There is no better or worse, just different.

Switch is 9th gen so it's not competing with the PS4. WiiU was the same gen as PS4 and it got blown the fuck out.

They're not direct competitors, but it would be very wrong to think the 2 wouldn't affect each other a significant amount, they both still play traditional games and share many of the same multiplatform games. Even mobile trash affected console sales, and mobile trash is very different than normal games.
