i don't understood what you were trying to say OP but Factorio is a fucking good game and everyone should try it once

He's saying it's as addicting as drugs and should only be administered in restrictive doses.

He is saying its like crack cocain its so addictive.
I have to agree with OP too.

bobs mod ruined my life

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Controlled_substance
This game is fucking crack.

it's possible im just a fucking brainlet but i had a really hard time enjoying this game

i get maybe 30 minutes in and just drop it, i dunno what it is but i just can't bring myself to play more

thank you fellow anons, and yeah i agree with OP too, never got a game this addicting since simcity 4.

> This should be a controlled substance.

> everyone should try it once

not even once

Its fine OP, i self regulate it.

I always get to the point where i would have to add something new to the base, which wont fit into my current setup and would mean i have to redo large parts of my base, and then i give up till i feel the itch again.

Same here, it's just so easy to tinker with some shit and forget to eat or sleep.

Sup Forums server when?

>tfw too much of a brainlet not too make a spaghetti that becomes incomprehensible by the time to reach blue science

This game looks like ass and plays like ass. Factorio a shit.

game look great and runs great?

Then it's not Factorio.

>love factorio
>but want to play with friends
>tell my friend about this
>they just can't play other than Minecraft or some shity obscure indie games like colony survival because factorio is too """"hard"""".

It feels like I'm having a 7-15 years old friends all the time.

weird because im running factorio .exe

How far has this game progressed int he past 6 months? I've been meaning to get back into it again.

In a good way or bad? What's it do

>How far has this game progressed int he past 6 months? I've been meaning to get back into it again.

nuclear power, new train stuff, total science change, few new techs, new "presets" for world gen, few other things, nothing HUGE but some stuff

/egg/ has one

Also partial HD graphics

no
when's kill?

I just want a multiplayer mode where I can other players.
Create a fucking factory that generates robots who automatically destroy anything around a waypoint you set. Boom, war. Who produces the most wins.

that is all possible though user, pvp is available and multiplayer is available

I have a master degree in Electrical Engineering and i'am bored too. People saying you need to be intelligent to play it are delusional or want to make themselves feel better.

Requires special autism. Very fulfilling gameplay if you have it

Don't take drugs, kids
Automate the drug intake instead.

Game is like a time sink of comfyness and solitude.

>trains
it's like having fun and despair in a nightmare

Inside the nightmare, we're all dreaming for an automated future.

fuck you maj0r lee, you fucking redneck no one likes you

I always get annoyed when I realize how many fucking furnaces I have to place and all the trees I have to destroy by hand to make space for them then I have to somehow build the perfect number of machines or I'll have to deal with major bottlenecks but if I build too much shit the aliums come and fuck my ass.

You can fuck up trees with grenades and shit.

Is factorio any different from shit like Stardew valley?

I fucking hated stardew valley. All it was was doing the same repetitive shit every day that didn't actually require any skill.

Yeah but I was spoiled by the flamethrower.

stardew valley is about you manually operating a farm

factorio is about you automating the farm

instead of standing there mining your plant you mine your plant to make some iron plates to make a machine that mines it for you, then get stone to make a furnace that melts the iron for you into plates instead of doing it yourself.

the skill of factorio is being able to plan and create a line of creation and mass production, not wake up everyday to pick your crops.

>All it was was doing the same repetitive shit every day that didn't actually require any skill.
The entire game is about avoiding doing this.

Thank you for the answers. I appreciate it.

stardew valley is moving your lawn by yourself
factorio is figuring out hot to rig fifty lawnmovers to automatically mown the lawn by themselves 24/7

Factorio cured my autism and gave me super autism.

this game is fun as fuck and scratches the same itch that programming does
if you like it, i recommend at least trying out some coding

Oil management will be a mess no matter what you do.

Is there any way to flip the input pipes? I fucking hate when I must put pipes crossed just because my water and oil happen to be on wrong sides.

Like, underground pipes?

Game looks fun but
>early access

i tried bobs inserters and they were fucking amazing
what other mods are worth downloading?

it isnt if you sit and plan it, oh and make the area, for oil and products related to oil, at least twice the size you can image. SPREAD THAT SHIT OUT

yeh but the game has a lot of content already and the dev(s?) are not shitheads and actively add to their game

>tfw no 3d factorio
Don't you fucking say minecraft

Frankly it just adds a lot more crafting steps.
Angels is really where it's at, it changes gameplay strategy up a fair bit, waste product management becomes key, you make like 10 different resources from a couple ores, etc.

Build a small "bootstrap" base first, then use that to produce lots of machines and work up to construction bots, then start building a fuckhuge base.

>made fully automated factories for science pack 1-3 and automated transportation to research labs
>literally have 32 furnaces only making iron
feels good
the new science packs are sooo fucking hard to make tho

Game needs more late game stuff. Feels like it would be almost perfect with better and more varied aliens

I'd rather play the game when it's done, and not burn out before they even add all the stuff.

The good thing about early access is that by the time the game is realeased it will be time for good discounts.

>scratches the same itch that programming does
As a programmer I agree completely. This is a game about logic. If something should work, it does. If something doesn't work, it's because you fucked it up. What you do with the tools given to you is completely up to you.

>I'd rather play the game when it's done
It's a pretty complete and playable game, moreso than many AAA titles.

>The good thing about early access is that by the time the game is realeased it will be time for good discounts.
>he doesn't know

Closest thing I can think of is Infinifactory

It's only small levels solving a problem, feels way different. But I did like it.

This.

I was just about to say. If you're only playing "complete" games in 2017 then you've fucked yourself for it. All the games that actually come out now are just as buggy as the early access shit. Like it or not that's just the way things are now so a solid game like factorio is your best bet.

there are not gonna be any discounts.

The page even states this. It's 20$. Always.

No, the price right now is the discount, it'll go on steam sales for $20 from $30 when it releases
honestly salefags are so fucking annoying, for some reason you see them all the time with factorio

oh shit, yeah, my mistake

it's basically the same thing minecraft did iirc

Even so, Factorio is the only "early access" game I'd recommend.

youtube.com/watch?v=rtT_Qc5DIEg

anyone semi considering factorio check out this video

originally yes at this point it's just greed

I don't have an addictive mindset but I had to literally uninstall it because I was unable to not come back to it every hour of free time.

I realized I was addicted when I started considering skipping an exam to play more.

And that was just vanilla, I can't imagine the mods.

>spent ~1 hour reading about nuclear plant component component and what it do
>spent another 4 hours figuring it out and setting up each
Goddamn by the time i was done and it was running smoothly i felt sense of accomplishment like no other

why would it take you four hours to set up something that should come naturally

>greatest achievement in game is not having to play the game anymore
Is there anything more autistic?

programming a game within the game
then programming the game to make more games
then programming the games within the game to make more games

One (1)

>greatest argument against a game about automation is hurr durr automation isnt manual labor
You just found it

youtube.com/watch?v=xF--1XdcOeM

Lackner-Wendt Auxon swarms when

$20 that I won't pay then. I never pay more than $10 for a game. I am fine waiting years for a price drop.

>tfw you friend doesnt care about building shit, he just wants to kill shit with tank and build walls
>i can focus on autistic building

your loss on something that you can get thousands and thousands of hours from

>he doesnt chop his wood with shotgun

>I never pay more than $10 for a game.
Why?

there's a mod that lets you build a consumable lighter with 1 copper, 1 iron, 1 coal
you can burn shit pre-flamethrower, enough to clear forests at least

you'll wait for a long time. Devs claimed they will not do any price drop because that's not fair between who paid it before and who craking it right now. You pay full price or you don't play (it's completely worth it)

I'll wait till 1.0

>that's not fair between who paid it before and who craking it right now
Lol, that's just greedy devs trying to convince fanboys that opportunity cost doesnt exist. Its fine if they don't want to have discounts, but there's no need to justify it.

>Price drops aren't fair

Is he a retard?

>greedy devs
think whatever you want, i don't care they made a fucking good game
ask the devs, not my problem son

no, just autistic

>pay full price for an Early Access game

I'd pay full price for a complete, finished game, if they want to act tough I'll just pirate it.

Fucking Early Access devs.

Not greedy, just stupid. Companies don't do those -75% sales on steam just because. Even if you do a small discount the sames increase tenfold. You can't lose money.

Can someone post a torrent?

>if they want to act tough I'll just pirate it.
>Can someone post a torrent?

lol

Sorry user, I'm only not >pay full price for an unfinished game

When they finish the game I'll gladly get it. If they are going to demand I pay full price for an Early Access game they can go fuck themselves. Most Early Access games don't even get finished properly or are "half-finished".

Can you post a link?

lmao the hypocrisy

It's the 2nd option on google search for "Factorio torrent".

It's entirely your choice not to buy it but bitching about "full price" seems really childish when the full price is just 20 eurodollars.

Go fuck yourself, shill. I've been screwed by too many Early Access games, and these fuckers dare act as if they have the "moral high ground"?

When they have finished their game, then they can ask for full price.

I could buy an actual finished game for that price and not take a gamble on Early Access.

So, you are saying, your money would be better spent paying $60 on Mass Effect Andromeda, than $20 on a critically acclaimed indie game, just because it's not finished yet?

Imagine being this fucking retarded, and then bragging about it.
