False, only objects can cast shadows and you need light for that. Darkness isnt cast it just is when there is no light.

Shadow is the lack of light in contrast to the light near it. If you're in a dark basement with zero light you wouldn't say it's shadowy you 'd say it's dark

But in english darkness and shadows are different things. There can't be a shadow of an object if there's no light, with no light there's only darkness.
