So did it save XCOM 2 like Enemy Within did or did it just continue adding crazy nonsensical stuff like the XCOM 2 DLC did?
I'm personally really enjoying it a lot. The new environments and mission types as well as enemies really just adds to the game in the same way Enemy Within did. I am kinda sad though that they didn't have a more natural way to introduce the factions. They're neato, but you either start with one on your team and just always have them awkwardly right out of the gate or you have to go through a 3 part mission every time as a tutorial and get the exact same unit each time. At least I enjoy chosen encounters a shit ton more than the really shitty alien hunter encounters.

The chosen kind of just gets annoying after awhile. The new classes are cool, but get old after awhile.
Tyler Martinez
Played the fuck out of this and shot myself in the foot by beating all the Chosen before I even made a skulljack.
Now I'm just left with the base game to finish and I can't be bothered, was an absolute blast though and the Chosen weapons are fantastic.
Xavier Robinson
Content was alright, but it doesn't change things up enough. The game still snowballs at a certain point, the balance is still whacked especially with the new classes and chosen weapons, the new advent/lost enemies are generic, and the chosen should really not talk as much as they do. Instead of being fearsome adversaries it's like running into cobra commander every now and then. I got it cheap through a key seller so I'm happy with what I got for the price. If I had paid full I'd be more disappointed.

>chosen gained a new ability >planewalker Just fuck me If you don't beat them early, they get really annoying. Meaning you will play late game without them OR with them being an incredible pain in the ass. New classes are great but you can only have one at a time. You'll never lead a group of templars to battle. Buying extra skills is very neat and makes some soldiers fucking invincible (sniper with rupture). That's a good reason to play it again, but it isn't worth $40, which makes long war the best extension
Elijah Lewis
>you can only have one at a time Why are you lying on the internet?
Adam Cox
>you can only have one at a time There's covert actions to recruit more. But it's RNG so you could end up with three reapers, or never see a single faction soldier outside your starters.
William Wright
...you can recruit more? Vanilla makes them heal so fast, I did not open the menu to buy new soldiers
Matthew Parker
Through covert actions you can recruit more my guy
Tyler Richardson
It was really fun but it's definitely just a bunch of wacky shit.
Ian Perez
I mostly use covert operations to increase my sniper's aim
Elijah Harris
It fixed XCOM 2 for me. The mission variety now feels really good and the majority of missions feel unique. Chosen keep things interesting in the mid game and I enjoyed fighting them unlike vanilla Alien bosses. New resistance soldiers and bonds help iron out some of the issues with stealth/timers New resistance ops help make the base building a little less mundane Endgame is still what it is but I don't really see how they could improve it.
It feels complete now. I couldn't ask for more out of XCOM2 and just want 3 to either come out soon and give us the greater threat and let us get really diverse alien/human squads or for them to start fresh and ditch the rigid pods/Overwatch gameplay because it seems to be reaching its limit and return some of that impending doom/fear of the unknown atmosphere back.
Price should be half of what it is really but I got mine from a keysite so feel happy with it
Oh and the Lost need to be 50/50 aggro or they need to make it really cleat they are less likely to attack Advent via some plot bs.
Leo Robinson
There's mods to fix the lost thankfully.
Jason Foster
True but why they thought 70/30 (?) aggro was a good idea without even mentioning the bias is bizarre.
Lost two soldiers thanks to thinking the 10 lost surrounding the advent priest would attack him and not climb a fire escape to bother them.
Owen Reed
There are two kinds of people who bought this:
People who live and breath it and play it over and over and over and over again.
Then people who were fooled into thinking it was a new campaign but was in reality just a mod pack.
Hudson Roberts
It's really weird that the pathfinding cost for climbing up on things is basically negligible.
>ask a guy to go around a corner >climbs three stories to the roof and drops down
Charles King
The first time I saw a group of lost just run right past an advent squad and try to get into range of my units I honestly thought they had programmed them to ignore advent. Just more proof that they have no idea how to balance their games and instead rely on the fans to mod that it.
Anthony Martinez
There was plenty of coverage on what this shit did before release and EW was also not a new campaign either.
I can get people getting pissed that the amount of content for that price is lackluster or the fact that the content is a bit rough around the edges but not that.
Alexander Cox
Haven't played it yet, still doing my first LW2 playthrough.
Elijah Hughes
I find the lost annoying and feel that they only slow the game down, and the chosen are always either completely trivial or an utter bitch to deal with, no middle-ground
Everything else is fine and improved the game
Robert Robinson
I thought it was fun but sharpshooters are too good. In one turn: >grapple onto high ground >run up to cover >activate serial >get 5 OHK's in a row >free reload >activate killzone and end turn i would feel bad if they weren't alien scum
Leo Russell
Not killing the Chosen makes them really fun lategame.
My Assassin negated overwatch, fire back at missed shots and could auto-overwatch after moving. My hunter generated shields when shots against him missed and and had immunity to explosive damage.
Aaron Sanders
I'm loving it. I spent a few days playing non-stop 10+ hours - commander/ironman
Christian Watson
The steam page is misleading as fuck, most people don't read up on a game past that.
Ethan Brown
I had it on my wishlist for ages, I thought it was offering a new campaign because the videos implied that.
They conned me into buying it but the trust is gone and I won't be fooled again by xcom / fireaxis dlc.
Jackson Ortiz
>things that happen once every three campaigns
John White
>colonel skirmisher with superior repeater and superior hair trigger
Adrian Smith
thats what you get when you cant read
and as for the dlc - the addidtions seem well ballanced and interesting (70/30 for the lost is kinda shit tho) i realy dont get why people are bithing about them and gloryfying enemy within at the same time EW was barebones compared to this also most things in xcom are ment to be a bitch to deal with so the chosen stealing your dreams work as intended
Jordan Martinez
>70/30 for the lost is kinda shit tho what's 70/30?
Tyler Allen
They only choose to attack advent 30% of the time and beeline toward your guys 70% of the time even though they're supppsed yo be mindless zombies
Jace James
I don't like it, chosen are really annoying. Training center is cool thought
Jace Rogers
git gud

Cameron Nelson

>sharpshooter has 60% crit chance More like once every three moves
