Divinity Original Sin 2

Non-shitpost edition.

How good was this battle?(pic related)

What characters are you rolling with?

You realize he's just going to come into this thread for the attention he gets while shitposting right? Probably will report it too just to say "stay salty"
On Topic still spending too much time trying to figure out what party I want before venturing forth.

annoying, the only battle i had trouble in the game because i couldnt respec my shitty preset party before it

that fight was just decent. There's much better and MUCH more difficult fights in store for you after this point.

>not killing her at the start of the game

>edition
off yourself

why would I? shes nice waifu material, i killed red prince at the start of the game though because he was a shitty cocky lizard

It's pretty damn tough for an early game boss fight, especially if you're not on an even level-field.

Reminds me of pic related, which was by far the hardest boss of the first game, despite only being the first area.

>MUCH more difficult fights
maybe on tactician cause on classic there's nothing harder than this, unless theres something in act 4

>not dicking her to remove her edge

I'll probably keep her as Ranger, she performs really well in it.

>killing off best bro

WHY user, WHY

this fight was annoying and tedious, sometimes you breeze through it because the worm will just wipe out ennemies for no reason, sometimes they will just focus on one character and their high ground advantage just fuck you from the start.

I decided to be a cunt and just chain tp'd alexandar in the middle of the seeker camp

>WHY user, WHY
there can only be one noble and that's my self insert and not a shitty lizard
he would have died anyway since i got sebille, fane, beast

>best bro
You mean Ifan? He was literally tailored to be the ultimate bro.
Red Prince is too much of a snob for true bro status.

...

>walk into the room
>entire party destroyed by meteor shower
That's the moment I began to consider positioning my party members before fights.

Battle was pretty good imo. I'm playing a character like Jaqen where I can transform into anyone and reroll my character when I see fit.

Groupwide Lucky-Charm when anyone loots and giving the chance to swap characters depending on Persuasion/Barter when?

Ifan is a cool guy. With his personal skill, he makes a great Rogue.

this just took long, wasn't hard for shit if you just got everyone on the top of the platform, also it fucked the framerate cause lmao entire fucking battlefield in necrofire

Not really "role playing" if it's a group-wide aura, now is it?

...

>What characters are you rolling with?
Custom Undead
Beast
Ifan
Lohse

Ifan is highly a recommended choice, he seems like the companion they put the most effort into and he has the most interesting moments so far.
Lohse is garbage. Only redeeming factor are the interactions with Jahan.
Beast is okay but his story didn't keep me hooked at all as it was slow for a long while.

>I'LL KILL YOUR SHINING LIGHTS

Anyone else spooked by this boss battle? It was random

Ifan is the cutest

How is Lucky Charm a fun method of roleplaying, it's literally just "I have to loot things with this character".
Persuasion/Barter should give you the option to defer to a character with the highest stat because that makes sense, if you are discussing something and need a hand convincing them you'd call in someone who's more diplomatic than you are, in the gamesense it's frustrating to have an NPC autoengage with the nearest target who is not your Persuade character and then have a Persuade skill check and you have to debate reloading just to try and shuffle your party around.
Bartering would be fine if it was easier to mass move things between characters at least.

Why would you ever choose a Battlemage?

>it's literally just "I have to loot things with this character"
which you fucking need because the itemization is fucked in the game since you can get fucked by getting unlucky and not getting good gear

I'm saying it's a poor design choice because all it's doing is making you run around on X character to click containers. If it was just a group wide aura then you don't have to worry about accidentally looting something with your non-LC character.

why is this allowed

I just want to play multiplayer with a group.

Join a lobby then?

Don't do it with randoms, especially not on Sup Forums. Games like this should only be played with people you can tolerate because everyone plays at their own pace and does things differently. If you can't stand how someone plays, you will hate them.

Hello, fellow divinity posters.

I don't want to join a random lobby. I want to know if that person's a shitter or not BEFORE I invest time in them.

I really wish the starting classes you can choose for origin characters you recruit didn't have so much garbage tacked on. I don't want a ranger with pet pal.

must have mods for non hardcore fans:

respec from act 1
faster running speed
Pet Pal free

that's the minimum to make the game playable.

CUTE

>deal fucking 500 pierce damage every turn to everyone
>has 5 fire totems spawn
>deals around 700 melee damage
Was a hell of a ride

is the game fun for solo play? i have 0 friends to play with

The only one I MIGHT agree is running speed, everything else is needless is not needed in Fort Joy at all
Why would you even respec when you don't even have the slots, money or enough skillbooks to be worth it?

>Braccus Rex armor set in the 2nd game

Why does it look so shit on human characters?

There's also one that reduces armor by 25% but buffs hp instead. This is for you fags who want to CC early.

Modifying the characters at level 1 would be nice since every Preset has at least 1 skill point that's kinda "meh"

So I can get characters that have useful shit without their stupid fluff garbage. Why do rogues have 2 sneak? Sneak is 100% worthless across the board, why wouldn't they have thievery?

Why do like 3 different class presets come with fucking petpal?

>wanting to fuck a tree

why?

Ifan just has pet pal if you were wondering, regardless of class.

God this battle fucked me up i thought i had it till that last wave of fire dudes came but it was still such a fun fight. Cant wait to come back when im actually the right level

wait a minute, I recognize that nose

I can understand most civic abilities being exclusive the characters including persuasion but they should have made lucky charm and barter party wide skills that gets it's power from the guy who has the highest of it. Just for the sake of playing the game easily without all the hassle.
>open all containers with only the loot guy
>send all the crap to the selling guy
>now talk to the NPC to finally sell the stuff
Who thought this was a good idea? I'm not a coding expert haxer but all this hassle can be fixed with devs changing a few lines of code.

>since every Preset has at least 1 skill point that's kinda "meh"
That's it? Just meh?
I'm all for player choice and such, but this is seriously reaching autistic levels of min-maxing

>Sneak is 100% worthless across the board
>pick guerilla
>keep that character out of combat, in sneak
>get free 40% damage boost, when entering combat
>repeat if you want more
Not 100% worthless, though is a roundabout way

Still, that's serious minmaxing which I don't see a point of in a single player RPG, and a cRPG at that, AND in Fort Joy of all places where nothing but armor matters

that mod is shit. I like those 3 because they have very little impact on vanilla gameplay. Maybe free Pet Pal is too much because you get a free talent but everything else is legit.

Also, main 2H Warrior Sebille is being a fucking hell ride. I love it!

Man, between her damage aura and -50% fire resistance thing she has she can one shot your entire party if you walk up to her in a gormless clump. Reapers coast has some real shit you can wander into.

Some people have autism m8 and they want to start the game with a party they designed instead of dealing with the presets.
It does get pretty annoying to have to swap to a specific loot character then transfer everything to the barter character.

Going to start a second playthrough since I want to actually pay more attention to the story and such, since playing co-op lowers our attention considerably. We're playing on tactician and I don't really find it hard - specially after getting some decent gear around Fort Joy.

Should I play on classic, tactician or honour? My only fear with honour is getting fucked by something without warning and losing hours and hours of progress.

It's the same thing with Aetera. She casts like 12ap worth of skills and stunned all my characters on the first turn. Not sure how you're supposed to do either of these without manually positioning while in dialogue.

W-what are you talking about?

I see no reason to ever play on honor unless you know every fight so you can avoid getting ambushed into a shitty situation. I think Tactician is pretty fun despite bloated stats so I'd say go with that.

Go tactician

It's reasonably hard without being able to screw you over permanently, or being piss easy

Alright, I'll stop shitposting

I will replay the game in a few month when it's less buggy and more balanced, until then I'm just going to uninstall.

If I'm level 13 now, how much of the game do I have left? about half? What should your level be when you encounter the final boss?

It gives me wood.

How many acts are there? Is nameless island the last one? WHY THE FUCK didn't they teach you source vampirism BEFORE you have to find all those source masters, spent over half the fucking game without using any source spell

No! Only anime is allowed to be cute!

I'm kinda ok with you simpletons happy with this lolsorandum turd of a game but can you please, at least use the OFFICIAL Sup Forums name for this crap?

"Kiddynity unoriginal sin"

Kiddynity stands for terrible, childish sense of humor, lack of mature themes and general goofyness of all sjwrian games

Unoriginal because game is most generic, shitty fantasy game without any originality

Sin, because it's a sin that this fucking turd even exist

Use the official name, it's not that hard
even for people like you

>Try to play Rogue
>It's utter shit and I deal like 11 damage per backstab
>Play Wizard
>Fossil Strike + Flame Daggers one-shots everything
>Like five enemies have significant magic armor compared to every other enemy but those five having a fuckload of armor
>Can take full advantage of terrain

You can get a better Source Vampirism in Fort Joy from the wand and helm. They only have limited charges but still

>get free 40% damage boost, when entering combat
And get placed at the start of the next turn, effectively loosing 60% damage and putting yourself in danger.

just you wait before your warrior finds a good shield for shield tossing and shows you an actual damage output instead of your pew pew

>not hard wood

one job, user

>thisisfine.jpg

You can do that without any levels invested in sneak past the first point though. Extra levels of sneak do not make guerilla more effective. I can understand doing things inefficiently from a roleplay perspective but surely that means that you, as a player, who isn't roleplaying a character, can understand why people don't want to waste the talent/civil points considering you only get like 4/6 throughout the whole game respectively. It's not so much minmaxing as avoiding waste. I don't need to have 10 levels of thieving to have fun, but I also don't WANT 2 levels of sneak, or pet pal, on people who won't ever use it.

>those glasses

guys, I think something is going on here

>Tactician
>enemies constantly just destroy my entire party's armor within a single turn
>struggle to get through theirs
>can finally CC everything once I do
>mfw finally get Overpower on my tank

It would actually be a fairly simple mod to make the skill apply an aura/buff to all party members that gives them lucky charm levels. Similar to how leadership works. Hell, I wouldn't even mind if that sort of thing was a talent.

Really fun fight but not that hard once you know the worm is coming. Going into it on tactician i saw the enemy stats and figured it would be a bloodbath and take a lot of attempts to get right. Absolutely loved the worm barging in and that moment of what the fuck afterwards not knowing what to do.

Got it on my second attempt, just backed up and killed the ranged enemies while the rest fought the worm and killed themselves.

Fuck, I took Battering Ram and the Crippling attack instead, didn't realise Shield Throw was good.

hahahahahahahaha

Sure, but what would you spend those points on though? Especially in Fort Joy. There isn't really much except bartering and thievery maybe, but you have 4 total characters, so at least one of them can get each

Damn, Lizard armor in this game is really fucking cool

That's amazing

>armor covers the tail as well

Or just create a new tree with
>Party Perks
-pet pal
-barter
-other shit

Just give 1 point per level in a separate tree or let you use someone's talent ability point for it.

Why doesn't anyone play Arena?

that literally just got nerfed
one rune per item now

>Beat bishop alexander
>Use purge to devour his body for source
>He's literally a pile of guts
>Get to boat
>"Alexander survived, you didn't hit him hard enough"

What would a good party balance be? How many mages do you need?

I'm running tank - melee rogue - ranged rogue - mage right now, do I need a healer?

yeah larian hates fun

>What would a good party balance be
a single damage type
either full mage or full phys, or at least phys with a mage who deals phys damage don't spread them out

Nice, I'll do that. If I run Ifan, Sibelle and Red Prince, what would be a good class for Red Prince since he gets some a bunch of magic buffs? Can I make him a battlemage or summoner just for some magic coverage?

summoner is universal for any party as he can do turrets of whatever damage type you need
a bit of geonamcy won't hurt warriors for buffs alone
necromancer is good for passive hp leeching

>What would a good party balance be?
Knight, rogue, huntsman, cleric. Cleric should specc in necro and hydro and use a shield and a one handed weapon.

>How many mages do you need?
Exactly one mage with hydro.

Nice, that sounds good, maybe Summoner since he has those Lizard magic buffs, and the other party members can be pure phys damage and magic buffs.

The boss fights are absolute shit in 2 and 1 objectively did it better.

Its a real fucking shame that this new armor system has fucked the combat so hard. Every boss is just a sponge fight with barely any interesting mechanics. Even the final boss feels boring as shit in comparison to 1s dragon final boss.

You wouldn't. A character that is half/half damage is literally worthless.

How the fuck can people stand Sebille or even ask her to join the party? I fucking killed that bitch on the spot after she when full coldsteel on me.

dohoho! Why didn't I think of this yet?

Oh shit, never thought of Cleric. That sounds pretty cool.

>haven't update my game yet

...

I murder her every game. Annoying as shit as she is quest breaking killing lizards everywhere.

>ranged rogue
u wot
