that art is so good why does the game have to look so awful and awkward in comparison?

Your pic is the opposite though. It tried to be serious but ended up being hilarious.
Still a sad way to end a great series but at least we got some laughs and memes out of it.

...

any modern western shit

Sunset Overdrive

>Mass Defect Andromeda

The "jokes" in that game had the humor of a dead fish.

Skyrim
>pass by any guard in any town
>he spouts some stupid one-liner at me

...

>It tried to be serious but ended up being hilarious.

No doubt about that user, but the few times it tried to be funny, it failed.
>Oh, I know! Let's cut Junpei's arms!
>Sigma with bucket on head
>Sigma asking for a cab for Phi

But now that I think about, Phi's response to Sigma in the incinerator took a smile out of me, but that was it.

I still don't understand why they did what they did.

borderlands

>Hail summoner, conjure me up a warm bed, won't you?

LOL

>Sigma with bucket on head
No, Sigma is kino. And it's not like I want his 18-inch long cock, no.

>What's the matter? Can't stand the sight of a strong Nord woman?
10/10

life is strange, or ME:A, both are cringy as hell.

>game tries to be
>it isn't

This was pretty funny youtube.com/watch?v=K4N6GJBApdk

B A T T L E B O R N

whoops

...

Is ZTD really that bad?
I finished VLR about a month ago and I'm still not sure if I want to even bother with ZTD

it's literally one step above a vn, be glad you got what you got

it's pretty bad.
if you're uncertain as to whether or not you should play it, flip a coin.

play it for the sake of it, but don't expect anything great

It's pretty shit compared to the other games. It's slightly above average.

It's not completely terrible if you don't consider it as the last part of a trilogy and go in with no expectations.

>Those combat lines from Liam
>which occur no matter how serious the situation is
Did they just not grasp why all the previous installments had lines that weren't inherently trying to be funny?

Suda went above VN format almost 20 years ago. Why didn't others follow?

>tfw ztd only lives on because of memes

if you even call it living on.
threads these days are lucky to get above 50 posts.

>game claims to be the end of a series
>ends with more problems then when it started

It's completely terrible. Do NOT play it.
All of the characters became retards. The rooms are horrible.
Fuck, just remembering it is making me angry.

It's a hell of a lot better than VLR, but that's saying little.

...

What was the point of Eric and Mira?

Piranhas in a fish tank.
Yes, really.

It's difficult to point the reason down to one word.

>ZTD and DR3 threads at the same time

Its like a overdrive of memes.

Obvious leftovers from a version of the script that made sense.
Brother.

Seriously, the idea is so simple, yet I've never seen people doing it.

youtube.com/watch?v=mfOsjVT8mlU

Remember the hype threads? How people are so excited for it with every new leak?

it all seems so far away now.

I still remember

Borderlands 2 and TPS
Destiny 2

Basically this . Is it so hard to do humor? I guess when your target audience is kids you don't have to try.

Don't fucking remind me. I took two vacation days when it came out just to relax and play the fucking game and then when I got that retarded ending I just sat there a minute scouring everything to see if I had actually missed some secret path or if a final real ending had unlocked like in VLR. I should've just gone to mcdonald's and gotten 40 mcdoubles instead of that garbage, considering the end result would have been the same.

i really tried, but i just didn't get the silver case.
It's just so horribly confusing, weird, and convoluted. Suda's other work was much, much better than that, and i heard some people lauding it as something fantastic.

It certainly is difficult to penetrate and the plot only (kind of) makes sense near the very end. I think it's the characters that pulled me in, they felt almost like real people, epecially Tokio. I didn't expect to like him at first, but damn, near the end of the game the game really made me care for him. Thy dynamics between him and the bartender were also superb.

i thought it was hilarious

>game tries to live up to its predecessor
>fails
>next game tries to live up to that predecessor
>also fails

Were there any clues about Tenmyouji being Junpei before you find that picture in that one room? I can't think of any.

>no mention of Drakengard 3
literally the most cringe-worthy game ever written
also zero time dilemma is unintentionally hilarious

...

the 'wet' thing in 999 started off as being unfunny but it went on for so long that by the end of it i'd come around to it.

also the fact that kanny presumably knew what junpei was thinking and was just fucking with him

The jokes in Zero Escape are pretty great though.

any pop culture references in phoenix wright.

the clown rapping the fresh prince theme made me feel physically unwell

what does he say in the japanese version?

He knew who Alice was in one of the routes, but that's about it.

I found ZTD pretty funny desu.

it has some moments that elevate it, particularly in the "middle", but it ultimately leaves a bad taste in your mouth

999 worked better than VLR as a standalone game. VLR is better in every other aspect except maybe characters but that's subjective.
Although you could argue that ZTD retroactively ruined VLR I guess.
And I don't think ZTD even tried to live up to 999/VLR. It tried to appeal to a wider audience and people new to the series.

Pretty sure there were.

If you guessed that the old woman was Akane, then the way Tenmyouji reacts to finding her in the elevator makes more sense.

He also puts a lot of trust in Clover in some of the routes, even though pretty much everyone else thinks she's a psycho bitch.

You can't be fucking serous.

It's pretty good till it gets bad. There's a turning point in the game that destroys everything. I'd say play it, become one of us.

ZTD was funny alright. A funny joke.
I just discovered that Uchikoshi worked on fucking Pepsiman.

When did you realize that ZTD story is pantsu-on-head retarded?
I had to put the game down when Zero explained that the Germans had a working alien time machine since 1888 and somehow still lost two World Wars

this is true

【F】

For me, it was the stand-off. I got to it pretty early
The moment Eric was threatening people a foot away with a grenade laucher

>Game tries to be funny
>It is
What's her name?

Phoenix Wright

New Vegas. Game is consistently great.

FFXIV's Hildibrand quests tickled my funny bone in an unexpected manner.

you didn't find it funny because the joke was too complex for you.

TF2

Snails?

The quote for cutting off Junpei's arms isn't funny. However, the counter banter he lays on Akane is pretty funny.
VLR's writing is still the apex of the series though

I fucking loved DoD3 and most of the admittedly crude humour it had (Zero's home-cooked meals segment was excellent) but on the whole it's more a small splash of paint to "hide" how fucked up everything is, viz. Dito and his censored murder of Five.

Play it, but consider it a gag reel for the series instead of a conclusion
Basically , after the twists start getting unraveled the game goes to shit

Borderlands 2 springs to my mind. I laughed at one joke and that was a Handsome Jack one that was predictable as hell but the delivery was so good that I laughed anyway. Maybe the reason why it was funnier than the rest of the game was because because they let the VA improvise many of his lines, rather than have Burch write for him

Project X Zone 2

>motives try to be complex
>they aren't

I think Moe had to be unfunny on purpose

Disgaea series, the fourth wall jokes will always make me smile

i get what you mean.I admit, Kusabi, Sumio and Tokio felt like really unique characters. I liked them. Can't say the same for pretty much everyone else in the damn thing.
I also expected much more from the story. The whole game felt like it was a backdrop for that absolutely ridiculous last chapter, and i can't even say amusingly ridiculous. That fat guy spinning in his chair is something that i'll always remember thinking about the silver case. And it isn't a happy memory.

>It's just so horribly confusing, weird, and convoluted
that's part of its appeal, but it's definitely not for everyone
