They all have been turned into a walking joke. Homura with that crab bullshit, Yomi with her fucking beansprouts, Katsuragi with groping, Mirai with her "hurr I want tits", etc.
I mean yes, it's been all there in previous games (Burst and DC) but not to the extent SV and EV did it. PBS is step in right direction IMO, sure they still overuse the jokes but at least they do something else too - Kat fights with Ikaruga, Homura for once behaves like a competent squad leader, so is Asuka, Yagyuu talks about something other than Hibari, etc.
I've just finished PBS and I have to say, after that twist and ending I'm really hyped for 7EVEN, really hope they will continue restoring the series.

yeah, nah. It's really generic third person shooter with extreme amounts of fanservice and twist that the weapons look (but don't really feel) like water guns.
In splatoon you have things like drop-off, in PBS all guns feel like normal guns with bullets replaced with water - so sniper still has pinpoint accuracy, shotgun still is run-and-gun, minigun behaves exactly as you would expect a minigun to behave, not a water gun.
That being said, it's still fun, and it does have that splatoony feel, especially during last boss fight.

honestly i'm a bit worried about the characters in this series. seems like when most of them were created, they had a story they were meant to go through and nothing else was planned. like every character has had their arcs already.

Yes, some characters have a different default hair in the game like Ikaruga and Miyabi. The regular styles are still there though.
