>there will never be a cyberpunk city builder game

What's there to miss. Just play them.

what game is this? it looks beautiful

Emperor Rise of Middle Kingdom

It is maximum comfy

OUR FOOD STOCKS ARE DWINDLING

youtube.com/watch?v=EZehl3GsmH8

That hurt more than i thought it would.

sure is

why can't there be any new games like this

I miss isometric strategy games in general. Why has this entire genre died?

literally too hard for today's children. by hard i don't just mean difficulty and learning curve, i also mean they don't have the patience for those games.

they need the instant gratification of loot boxes.

There hasn't been a good city simulator game since 2003.

I've been enjoying project highrise recently

>Spending entire days learning a game so you can finally have fun

GTFO granpa

>tfw as a little kid I barely understood what I was even doing in most games and never actually got anywhere but I was still content trying and mucking about
I can't honestly tell if I was more retarded than the kids who don't bother

Isn't that a shittier sim tower?

Last one I know of was Lethis or something.

>tfw coming home from school and playing Caesar III
>Load up Age Of Empires and go into the scenario builder just to build villages and shit
>Do the same thing in Empire Earth
>my fucking face when I got the very first Sims game and could actually build individual houses

The give me decision anxiety.

depended on the game for me. I was fucking atrocious at management games and would fuck around until i failed, and then try again. Didn't learn much, either.
I seemed to have a mental block where PC games were for dicking around and console games were for completion. Nowadays i probably spend more time trying to perfect shit in 4x/grand strategy/simulation games than I do actually enjoying them

Kids are pretty retarded, but they can still play any game with their ability to spend hours doing the same shit. The problem is that kids are being spoonfed shitty phone games when they could be doing anything with substance.

Yes, there should be more city builder games
So you idiots can finally fuck off from RTS games

Speaking of The Sims, how come the music was so fucking good?
youtube.com/watch?v=Mtf7pocKg-E

building monuments in emperor was such a snorefest

There's a widescreen patch?

brb reinstalling

Age of empires 2 campaign was hard as hell. Especially the scenario where all the factions surrounding you are enemies and they keep raiding every now and then

I dunno but the Hot Date expansion music was fresh as hell.

I had no idea how zoning worked on SimCity 2000 when it came out. I just liked building roads, schools, power plants and police stations until I ran out of money then started all over. I figured the skyscrapers and houses on the box was just concept art or something.

>RTS games

What the fuck is an RTS game? Never heard of it.

Glad to know you ignore it
One less cuck playing my games

Don't worry, nobody does.

yup, i had to disable the intro movie for the game to launch without flickering in windows 7. do it in the .ini file.

Oh you mean Dota? Nah i got bored of it.

Good.

Good meme, keep trying

>no mesoamerican city building game

JUST

Caesar 3 > *

feel free to go play the old city builders.

>you will never have one of the largest slave populations in recorded history
>you will never use them as human sacrifices to your gods on such a scale the entire city is ankle deep in blood.
>you will never kill all the children and rape all the women to make sure their blood lines end and carry on yours
>you will never have this regarded as great deep culture
>you will never have all of these facts forgotten because a white man stole some gold from you

feels bad man.

...

...

This hurts

What a great idea for an indie dev! Brb spending 5 years learning to code.

Anyone played Pharaoh? It's probably the best of the Impressions games. It has a very immersive atmosphere/aesthetic, and the monument building is unmatched.

my nigga OP fucking loved that game

>Muh nostalgia
if you can see without nostalgia glasses you can see that new strategy games are 100x better than old ones in every way you dumb fuck

>bought SimCity 2000 ages ago
>have never actually played it
is it worth my time boys?

keeping all the deities appeased was a total pain in the ass, other than that it was pretty comfy

the (you)inflation this year is really bad

FEELS
WHY DID YOUPOST THIS?
FUCKING HELL

I BET THE GUYS WHO MADE THIS SOUNDTRACK ARE DEAD

Then make some more you lazy fuck

...

cities: skylines is pretty comfy desu

>forgotten

Im-fucking-plying, it's the one thing people remember about the aztecs, and it's most exaggerated to ridiclious levels like what you said.

To begin with, London alone executed almost twice as many people per captia as cortes said the Azecs sacrificed, and we know that corte's numbers were wildly inflated to begin with because it would have been logistically impossible to sacrifice as many people in as fast a time as Cortes said, and we also know that the Aztecs like to fudge their numbers to be bigger to make themselves seem more pious. They likely sacrificed maybe a couple hundred per year at most.

Also, the vast majority of sacrifices were war prisoners, people who would have been killed on the spot in Eurasian warefare instead since the Aztecs prioritized capturing enemies over killing them. And since you mention slaves (but to say they had one of the largest slave populations is absurdly incorrect): Aztec slaves actually could buy themselves out of slavery and had a pretty decent amount of legal rights.

Not to whitewash them: The Aztecs were hugely militaristic expansionst assholes that used their religion as a pretext for said military expansionism, and they DID practice an unsual amount of human sacrifice even compared to other cultures in the region, and their religion was absolutely balls to the walls batshit (the star skeleton futa demons with rattlesnakes for dicks being my favorite example), but them litterally killing thousands of their own citizens as sacrifices is wildly inaccurate.

Also Aztecs =/= all of mesoamerica, that would be like saying that francse is all of europe. There were the Olmecs, Zapotec, Maya, Mixtec, Teotihaucans, Chichimec tribes, Purepecha, Tontacs, Tlaxcallans, etc; the region had plenty of other nation-states, empires and city states.

yes, play it right now!

what the fuck does a city builder have to do with wanting a strategy game you mong. The majority of people who enjoyed these older games enjoyed the city building aspect of it

Put down shrines/festivals.

>MFW the music for sims 1 was made in 1999
fuck im old

>No one can accept these goods! That's OK... I can use the rest.
>I don't know why we came, this city never trades. And the shore leave was boring.
>I've been kicked out of my home and through no fault of my own!
>THERE'S NO PLACE I'D RATHER JUGGLE
Probably the most quotable game I've ever played, even if it's just quotes in my head to make my day more bearable.

tl;dr aztecs sacrificed way less people then people think they did, the sacrifices were mostly prisoners of war that they collected rather then killing them in battles

who original war here?

>the star skeleton futa demons with rattlesnakes for dicks
Elaborate

Aztecs dindu nuffin.

A steampunk game released a while back. Apparently it's just okay.

...

>Not to whitewash them: The Aztecs were hugely militaristic expansionst assholes that used their religion as a pretext for said military expansionism, and they DID practice an unsual amount of human sacrifice even compared to other cultures in the region, and their religion was absolutely balls to the walls batshit (the star skeleton futa demons with rattlesnakes for dicks being my favorite example)

you obviously know a bit more about it off the cuff than i do, but i just wanna clarify i didnt mean to imply they sacrificed their own citizens. i knew they were slaves that they sacked.

Ah, my bad then.

Except you're wrong faggot.

SimCity 2013 released a Cyberpunk DLC called Cities of Tomorrow.

sc 13 is trash though

You said a Cyberpunk city builder doesn't exist.

That's a great file name you got there.

CoT is comfy though.
And we're all just waiting for SC2020 anyways. Cities skylines is absolutely abysmal and feels like a no name brand SC.

>SC2013
lol

Like most people, we like to pretend SimCity 2013 doesn't exist

>he doesn't orient his garden paths inward to avoid the weird nubby corners

why does it look like shit?

>playin aoe
>strat says to use buildings as walls
>my aesthetic sense says no
>lose

There's a Caesar IV?

How does it make you feel to know that SC2013 is still one of the top city builders?

These bridges on the lake are my fetish. Fuck I love it, even if more than one bridge is impractical resources-wise, I wish it happened more often.

>put gardens on the inside
>citizens have to walk through rose bushes to get into the temple

i'd rather have nubs

>London alone executed almost twice as many people per captia as cortes said the Azecs sacrificed
> it would have been logistically impossible to sacrifice as many people in as fast a time as Cortes said

You are dumb.

>SimCity 2013
>what is Cities:Skylines
alrighty.

>Empire
Holy shit that fuckin game was so fuckin great. My main issue was there was in general a best way to design a city in districts and about half way through I found it and all my cities looked copy pasted and I couldnt bring myself to play suboptimally so I always did it and I got bored.

>one of the top
So not only are C:S shills unbearable, they're also illiterate. What else is new?!

>mfw don't like Caesar or the ilk but like Children of the Nile

I experienced kind of the same thing, except on most maps if you play optimally you end up with a shitload of extra resources and unemployed citizens and nothing to use them for. So might as well play for fun instead.

They got a pianist in from Sydney and he just improvised for an hour, which they recorded.

There's no contradiction there, pseudo-intellectual.

he is dead
he is over 110 years old
thats how old sims 1 is

20 years ago it was released

I miss Sim City. I want proper city simulation back, not this purely cosmetic sandbox shit we get these days.

but it isn't

it was on release, it's not so bad now. It's on par with Cities Skylines only because Skylines' traffic is fucking ass.

What about frostpunk

Ya I dont like to play like that though some times I did do amusing things like make a million fishermen.

Or you could try raising the difficulty level. I suddenly found my normal layouts weren't good enough on Hard as the citizens are more demanding and you need more infrastructure buildings.

I'm in agreement with you on that, but it doesn't change the fact that SC 13 tarnished what was once the definition of city building games and basically killed their franchise. Just because C:S is crap doesn't magically make SC 13 good; it's like if there were medals for shit city builders, C:S gets bronze, SC 13 gets gold, and that's not the sort of medal you want to be getting.
