Replayed it recently. They fixed the FPS problem and now it runs almost as smooth as dishonored 1.

Arkane seriously fucked up on launch with idtech's engine, no idea what the hell they were doing, beth just forced it on them.
They fixed it after but damage was done.
It's a great game but I hate Crack in the Slab. Playing the expansion right now and it's real good too.
Because I spent 3 grand and built myself a quantum computer and it still went sub 60 fps on launch. The engine was fucked up, didn't matter what setting you used. It was a shame because I felt the game was an improvement in every way except the story.
At launch the PC version was shitty. it already been fixed months ago
Personally, it makes more sense with Emily as the protagonist in this game. With Corvo, it feels more like a rehash of the 1st game.

I find emily annoying and corvo has no emotion besides "muh daughter!" also some runes require you to have certain abilities to get.
I don't recall that much of a negative reception towards this. Pretty much everyone loves Clockwork Mansion and a Crack in the Slab, and the game overall plays very well. I guess because of the poor performance early on, but it's smoothened out and they even added some more features like NG+. Sure the story and characters are still flat as fuck, but it's Dishonored you can't expect that much.
I hate a Crack in the Slab. It's too gimmick and annoying to play.
For some reason I didnt find it as engaging as the first one. Might play it again later and try to find why.

Bethesda gave them idTech 5, aka the engine which Rage and The Evil Within ran on, then let them patch it up with some tech from IdTech 6 themselves. It's no wonder it didn't go that well, especially since they went from Unreal 3 to the shittiest idtech iteration in a long time.

The only bad thing about the game is how blurry it is.
Everything else is 9+/10. Arkane are gods.
It improves on everything from the first game, except in characters and story. Reusing Delilah was such a big fuck up, and petrifying Corvo/Emily for the whole game was super lame
I hated that they made the characters talk, particularly in Chaos where they talk full edgelord for no reason other than I'VE BEEN KILLING PEOPLE.
Other than that I enjoyed it. Corvo feels really out of place, unfortunately.
I pirated it and I never had any optimization problems. Sure I couldn't play it on ultra, but it was fine on high with no v-sync

I didn't mind them talking, I just wish they'd done it like they did with the Daud DLC. Ie sparse comments where it adds context; them commenting when did shit like killing an enemy was just way too much.
I didn't care much for their VAs either. Emily sounded incredibly generic, and as much as I like Stephen Russell, he's absolutely not what I thought Corvo would sound like.
i had playable 60fps+ and down to 40 in some sections on ultra but i had lots of microstutters, never saw one single video of this game during release without microstutter/hitching, it doesnt exist, everyone was affected by it, even their official trailers had microstutters, performance was terrible for everyone

I just finished it on the hardest difficulty, and they were not that easy to bring down without explosives, although they're not that dangerous. Juking them with the folding walls was fun though.

I didn't even hear about it on Sup Forums when it was released. Prior to that it was some variation of wanting to fuck emily and that corvo looked like a fag, then release week and nothing.
