Yes, it's true. The trees and some of the shrubs would grow regardless, but flowers needed to be watered and, if i'm not mistaken, weeded. You could also hire a gardener to do this shit instead

That was a nice little old couple with a fucked up secret.
A nice little house with a prison behind it obscured by bushes.
The old couple made food for them and presented it to them over a set of cupboards that was exposed to both the prison and the couples house, but no way to get on either side.
Nothing to do but grab food and play pool in the rec room.
I had some mod that prevented the AI from turning in to fucking retards at night when they needed to go home.

When Sims became full EA it got turned into saccharine shit. Gameplay evolved but the aesthetics suffered massively because they were aiming for the inoffensive preteen audience. It was already evident in Sims 2 but Sims 3 & 4 has it in full blast.
