TNO was praised for its storyline and characters. Its gameplay wasn't even anything outstanding.

All Wolfensteins before it were made before "I hate Nazis" 100% meant "Hitler would be alright if his master race was black trannies"

The only thing that made it special was that 3D was the first shooter ever, and that RTCW spawned Enemy Territory.
