You get less missiles per missile expansion as I recall, might take more damage from attacks as well

Now, I love Metroid II as much as the next contrarian, and it has some good songs in it, but come on man, 90% of the songs are beep boop ambient crap. Which isn't inherently bad, but when you're running around a samey looking maze, it's a lot better if you have some catchy tunes to listen to.
I'm convinced a big part of why people have trouble putting up with M2 is because the music makes exploring a lot less rewarding.

The tracks had to be ambient. Because of GB limitations they needed to be short and looped often, which is why ambient works better,

Completely agree. I loved Metroid 2, and think the remake is amazing, but the music is easily some of the weakest in the series. Not that it's bad, but the other games have such great tracks, and Metroid 2 kinda falls short of that musical glory.

My man. Both were good but SR was still one of the weaker Metroid games in terms of music, whereas AM2R is actually one of the best.

I think we need more original music in the series but the tunnel theme is something that should be remixed again. I liked its remix in SR but I think it could be a nice semi-recurring theme. Honestly with the way SR remixed a ton of themes all willy-nilly, I think we're reaching the point where it'd just be nice to hear some new music for a change.
Surface of SR388 did need to be used more though.
