It's a third person shooter AND a first person shooter. It has both modes. There are servers where third-person mode is disabled, but even on third person mode servers, you can switch to first person mode. So the game is by definition more first person than third person.
On third person mode play, ADS still uses first person mode. Firing from the hip in third person mode only works for extreme close quarters.

I think competition is good for multiplayer games. It pushes people to be better, but obviously not as good as pro. Like a rec league. I don't like when multiplayer games become e-sports because it pushes competitive players to make the game their life. Every mistake you or your teammates feels 10x worse because, after playing the game for so long, there is a mental precedent for you to play extremely well. As a result, you get tilted, become toxic, very easily.
