Gungeon Thread

To the beach edition.
1 hour includes the two secret levels btw.

>Doing Old King
Madman.

It as my first time doing him and my first time in the Abby.
For the life of me i couldn't bring the shield to the altar but got lucky this time.
I expected to be difficult as fuck but it as surprisingly ok.
I will admit that i saw his attack pattern before the fight though i don't have the time to lean a new boss I already wasted huge amount of time on the game as is.

>kill the main four character's pasts
>play Robot
>a run starts sloppy, but picks up later on
>kill the Dragun
>motherfucking Lich out of fucking nowhere
I thought he only supposed to appear on the characters whose past you already killed. I was so fucking close to beating Robot's past.

As far as I know he appears on any character if you have the 4 main pasts cleared.
Cant wait to fight him.
Until them look at my two doggos :D

>330 deaths
I thought you 100%'d the game already. Don't tell me these are your first past kills.

yes they are first.
I quit at 180 deaths having killed the dragon but i dint have the bullet.
That I returned to the game after 2 months of break and had to re learn it.
I could have started new save for that e-penis inspection but i dont care.

>normal ending
>not finishing bullet hell

What a fucking pleb.

>didn't have*
>Then I returned*
ffs

I completed the bullet before I even could kill the Dragun for the first time. Well except the casing of course.

They need to include some sort of log or progression meter so you actually can keep an eye on your goals through the runs.

There's the giant bullet status right in the middle of the Breach.

Statue*

Not until you talk to the blacksmith in the forge.
I literally waste my frost 100 runs fixing the elevator to the 5th floor lel

Why the hell WOULDN'T you talk to the smith?

wasted my first*

How does the Lost Adventurer work?
Does he just appear randomly on any floor, do you actually have to find him and map EACH floor once? I haven't seen him in a while. Could he be stuck on the secret floors until I mapped them for him or something? Or am I just unlucky?

No man he is not always around but he does show up once in a while.
After you explore every room on the floor (excluding boss room and secret rooms) he will give you a chest.
Somethings pretty good stuff sometimes not.

I was just doing that for completion's sake to make him move to the Breach.

I missed an opportunity on the fifth floor with him.
God dammit I could have gotten Excaliber.

How has the game improved since launch?
I played it then and had a blast playing it but I was bad and it got too repetitive and too dependent on the guns that dropped for me to continue.
Are there better passives now and more synergies?

BUT I CAN'T ONE SHOT BOSSES LIKE I CAN IN ISAAC! THEREFORE GUNGEON MUST BE OBJECTIVELY INFERIOR TO BOI. IT'S NOT BECAUSE I'M BAD AT A MECHANICALLY CHALLENGING GAME THAT REQUIRES SKILL. RATHER I AM CASUALIZED BY THE OP ITEMS AND SYNERGIES THAT BOI HAS GIVEN ME AND CAUSED ME TO EXPECT FROM ALL ROUGELIKES./

Jammed runs are the best runs, I can't go back to normal ones

>All that dosh
>Regular rooms you curbstomps before can become extremely stressful
>Getting a Jammed Mine Flayer
>Getting a Jammed High Priest
>Getting the Lich jammed on all 3 stages

Dunno how it was on launch, but there was one big update at some point, the Supply Drop it's called, so check that out.
And another one is scheduled to come out this fall, specifically intended to improve synergies among other things.

>Mine Flayer
>High Priest
Fuck these guys. I'm still having trouble with the normal ones.

is gungeon for the superior rouge-like player?

We are waiting for update 1.4 on PC.
Synergies at least for me are still too far in between runs.

What about Jammed Old King?

In working on getting that still. It's only a 30% chance lest I want lord of the jammed on my ass

I did get a Jammed Door Lord before. Yea. That was fun

Its literally not that hard on controller since auto aim snipes everything even off screen and the camera reveals the whole room instead chasing it with a mouse.

Do jammed bosses have a billion times more HP like regular jammed enemies, or just hit for a full heart?

I need to pray to the Lich statue to begin cursed run correct?

>Jammed Door Lord

I thought that that had come out already
I'll reinstall once that goes live

For the Mine Flayer, best I can recommend is sitting at either the top or bottom of the room. It's a lot easier to dodge his attacks, one of the most annoying ones won't hit you at all, and you'll only have to move when he mines or if he does the bell hide thing. When he does that, reposition back to the top or bottom(preferably the furthest from him)

It did on Xbone.
There is beta for it somewhere for some people on PC but I dont know how to get it since on GOG.

Yep, although for the option to be available, you have to have killed the past for whatever character you use

It's both.

I have never seen a jammed Door Lord and I hope not to.

Yeah I figured as much. The bouncing bullets always throw me off, and they're the easiest to dodge if you're standing with your back against the wall.

Alright time to test my skillz

If I love Isaac, would I like this?

Maybe.

It may be too difficult for you.
I wish I was joking.

Could you repeat the question?

Probably
There are extremely few broken synergies, and the ones that are, you won't get for a long time with the humongous loot pools. Bosses have DPS caps, and enemies are dangerous all around, so there's a lot more focus involved

Depends.

Did you like old Isaac that was just powerlevelling for 20 minutes: the game? Then no.

Do you like new Isaac that's just underwhelming items for 20 hours? Yeah, probably.

>have Lichy Trigger Finger+Gungine
>not listed as synergy
>wreck boss fights in 30 seconds falt
wew

How fast do you reckon Railgun+Alpha Bullets+Omega Bullets+Hip Holster would melt bosses?

probably even faster lel
I love OP runs

>get the Ammulet that hits the room 65 upon blank
>get the little blank guy that follows you around and blanks upon item activation
>get the Jetpack
>game becomes press spacebar to nuke the floor simulator

I don't even care that there was a delay and that you can't mash it, this shit was broken beyond belief

>press spacebar to nuke the floor simulator

Feel like there's no real reason to play any character except the Pilot since he gets the most free shit.

You want to play marine at least in the beginning on keyboard/mouse because of his incredible accuracy.

Bullet is fun

No contact damage at all. Jammed enemies, blobs, tazies, ice blocks, anything that hurts by touching won't harm you at all

Probably the best starting gear damage wise, if you can avoid being hit. Swing is strong, projectile is strong, you can nullify enemies completely with its huge swing destroying bullets. You have your rolls too, which instakill bullet kin and do a lot of damage on others. With armor of thorns, your rolls will do 240 damage! That's a one shot to practically everything

He's the only one I really do jammed runs with, because he not only brutalizes even their hp bars, but played right, the sword will make me never get hit
