Redpill me on Stardew Valley

Redpill me on Stardew Valley

Indie developed farm sim game in the same vain of old Harvest Moon games. Sprinkled in with some combat. There's romanceable characters, quest of sort, and an overall objective.

Harvest Moon clone with less stress and worrying about time management. Just the right level of depth youd expect (and then some more). Entirely made by one man which is admirable.

I enjoyed it for about 200 hours id say. Good for a farming grind. Some relationship/character development too. If anythng seems slightly SJWish. Combat elements that many thought it could have less of. Romance too options too. Good overall plot of maintain the farm through grind OR sell out to an evil walmart.

Most of the game is centered around farming and community development (referring in this case to the town). The "forced combat" that another user referenced is that in order to upgrade at a steady rate, you more or less have to engage in the dungeon crawl part of the game. Fun overall, developed by one guy, and really feels like spiritual successor to 90s games.

If anything, I would say this is the type of comfy game to play while marathon watching a television series. You might get bored otherwise since the game isn't too complex. Bonus interest if you avoid the wiki and faqs and straight up do it journal style when it comes to figuring out the mechanics of the game.

marry penny
marnie is a milf slut
that's all you need to know

It's not actually comfy because days are much to fast. I still enjoyed my time with it though. Good luck keeping the motivation to play more than 1.5 years.

You can mod the boys into girls

I wish there was more stuff to do. Year 2 Spring was a slog because there was some quest lines left to do and I couldn't do anything until the Summer.

game lacks proper tools to automate everything. there are springklers but they are outrageously expensive (require a lot of farming of materials) for what they actually sprinkle. if you go the animal route it's even worse.

the game really is only good if you're in need for something uber braindead in order to get comfy or if you actually like that kind of monotonous 'get up and do literally the same thing every morning'

Uber chill spiritual successor to Harvest Moon.

You think you're a NEET recluse now? Play Stardew Valley and you will be the subject of a missing persons case.

Where harvest moon and Rune factory keep trying to add and take away gimmicks. Stardew Valley gave a basic meat and potatoes farm sim we always wanted. Its nothing special, but it didn't try to fix what wasn't broken.

>get a bunch of penny quests on the board
>get penny as gift partner
>get 8 hearts without really trying
guess i'm marrying her now

IIRC you can get 8 hearts with everyone. Once they're at 8 your relationship no longer degrades with them. It only goes to 10 when you actually marry them.

Play the field with all the singles until you find the one you like.

Multiplayer when

you develop relationships with people by giving them gifts

essentially buying them

game doesn't have any real goal

>""""""""""""""""""relationships""""""""""""""

fuck this shoehorned in shit. im tired of every single one of these kinds of games pushing some HURRR HAV FAK RELASHUNSHUP WITH NPCS. fuck that. i dont give a SHIT about npcs and i shouldnt be forced to.

you are not forced to, I didn't care a damn about them

It's a Harvest Moon ripoff that's better than any HM game. Especially because it's on PC and you can use mods to play with your friends and family. I had a blast playing this game with my cousin.

How are you forced to? You can completely ignore all the NPCs except the dude who sells you seeds and shit and have the same basic experience. Game doesn't force you to befriend NPCs at all.

its less this game than it is the others

in several of the harvest moons the mayor kicks you out if you dont marry someone

Its a good game.

Oh. Well, I've only played 3 or 4 HM games and none of them had that in them.

fug i already gave her the bouquet

thinking about it though the only other girl i particularly liked was emily, and clint's pining for her pretty hard

sam and alex will probably move on and find other partners but clint's stuck in pelican town forever, can't begrudge him the 1 eligible girl that's interested in him

Will this fill the gap until rf5 ?
