Ess would have worked better. Especially because of the t-spin part.

DELETE THIS
ESS IS PERFECT
Literally Raffina if she were less tough and more bitchy.
FEVER 3 FUCKING WHEN
24 CHARACTER LIMIT DROPPED FUCKING WHEN
NEW PUYO FUCKING W H E N
SUZURAN DELETED FROM EXISTENCE WHEN
oof
Suzuran grew on me, and they're a small enough addition at only 4 members that they don't impact the roster too much.
EMISSION!
Raffina's pretty great.
Has Tetris been nerfed yet?
Perfect clears now only send about 16 garbage. They even got nerfed in swap mode.
Puyo has much less delay when placing pieces.
Nigger, Oshare's gone because of Suzuran bullshit.
That's a big enough impact for me.
DO NOT STEAL MY ART.
>only english dub
>Oshare gone
>Popoi as a unique character gone
>Strange Klug gone outside of 20th
>Baldanders gone
>Akuma gone
>Onion Pixy gone past 20th
>Dongurigaeru gone past 20th
>Hohow Bird gone
>all the other fever/madou characters like nohoho and gogotte that will forever be forgotten because sonic team is clinging to this autistic fucking 24 limit bullshit
I think the worst part is that rhey almost seem to be teasing us for it. All those fucking cameos in the PPT story mode, the fact that there are about 5-6 characters who are fully animated and voiced in the 3DS game that're only playable in singleplayer, it all just makes me hate sonic team even more.
I wish they'd bring back the Fever 2 artstyle, too. The new style isn't as nice, even if the 3DS version of 20th has some really nice animations.
Based fish still has a good voice, so I can deal with it.
>tfw sonic mania had a mean bean machine cameo but robotnik's AI was so stupid you could absolutely murder it with a single 3-chain
But they fucked his voice up, too.
You can't tell me his spells sound anywhere near as good as his JP voice, user. I mean, listen to this fish fuckin' yell like he's some kind of luchadore.
youtu.be
Truly a crime. Even Bomberman R has Japanese.
I always thought the puyo puyo games had a great art style. Fever in particular.
It kinda had to be that way. Any person who's never played Puyo Puyo isn't going to have any idea what a chain is or how to get one without some kind of tutorial, which would kill the flow of the whole thing.
It's disappointing, but not really worth getting worked up over. When I'm in the mood to play as my old favorites I just boot up desmume and play the older games a bit. If I'm playing online there's always going to be at least a few characters in the current roster that I like.
He sounded better in 20th desu
To be fair, Puyo Tetris's JP voices aren't even that good, either. They sound really off compared to previous games.
youtu.be
PPT is just a really weak entry in general, honestly.
Fever's art is a little iffy, I think, but Fever 2's art is amazing, especially with the heavy use of colored outlines.
ONION!
They couldn't make it difficult at all or else he'd be a legitimate roadblock for people who aren't Puyo-savvy. Though it would've been nice if they at least implemented offsetting instead of sticking so strictly to Puyo 1 rules, and that way they could've stuck higher AI levels into the Mean Bean side mode instead of just increasing drop speed.
...
I get that but I mean, I honestly don't think making it as hard as say the first level of the original game would have been too much to ask.
So, what did the two Puyo dubs (Fever and Tetris) get right, and what did they get wrong?
Fever kept most of the spells accurate and had a fairly good voice for Oshare Bones and Onion Pixy. The voice actors were pretty shit aside from those, though, and the writing was wonky.
Tetris got fairly decent voice actors, gave Maguro an absolutely perfect match for his JP voice, kept most of Schezo's dirty lines, but fucked up all the spells horribly.
Neither games managed to give Ocean Prince a voice that didn't sound like absolute shit, and I still can't figure out why he seems to be so hard to dub.
Haven't really touched this game too much since mk8 came out. Thinking about playing some after work today though, I suspect online is still pretty dead though.
I get it.
>ringo's alt voice
Hoo boy.
If they give you a full-fledged Puyo game inside Sonic Mania, what are the odds that you'll actually go out and buy Puyo Puyo Tetris?
No dual audio is a shame, but at least the eng dub is pretty good.
I think some of the chaining lines are better in Fever, such as Raffine's, but overall Tetris is just a lot better. Fever's voice actors were pretty amateurish and Tetris did a much better job of localizing the lines, at the cost of some things being less accurate.
Fever had a lot of lines that were both read by the VA really oddly and just sounded weird.
>NOW THAT WAS IN POOR TASTE
>GET REALLY REAL
>Rider/Rita being called both he and she
>Arley's lisp
That being said I unironically love Raffine's "La-ti-da".
It could only boost sales. I mean, depending on how you look at it PPT came out months or years before Mania did and it's niche enough that it already got most of the sales it was gonna get anyway.
...
Fever's dub had good chaining lines, but shit story lines.
Tetris's dub has great story lines, but shit chaining lines.
Also, what the fuck were they trying to do with Ocean Prince's voice?

CUTE
>I got a room set up on the switch ver

>Neither games managed to give Ocean Prince a voice that didn't sound like absolute shit, and I still can't figure out why he seems to be so hard to dub.
In case you didn't notice, he sounds like a scratchy little shithead in Japanese too, but sounds like a regular person when in his non-fish form. Odds are he's just meant to sound really stupid to suit his appearance.
If it makes you feel any better, no one has shown up yet.
*blocks your path*
his normal voice is adorable
I dunno, he sounds pretty similar in both his normal and human forms, and I wouldn't call it a "normal" voice in either case. The difference being, like you said, his fish voice is just a bit scratchier. But the english dubs didn't give him any sort of similar voice, they went with a generic "regal-sounding lady" in PuyoTet and with some unholy mixture of british and southern accents in Fever. It's bizzare.
That being said, the only English equivalent I could really think of would be Morgana's English voice in Persona 5.
I got puyo puyo tetris on the switch, it's my first puyo game.
Holy shit, I'm bad at puyo
>Morgana's English voice
That would work pretty well, actually.
youtu.be
closed the room since no one showed up. Take this in consolation.
i heard puyopuyo is a spinoff of an rpg. you think they will make one of those again?
...
That's already Ringo.
>girl name
>voiced by a girl in both JP and ENG
>is a dude
I don't get this game
See now I'd like this more if they were all moved down a puyo each (except the yellows since them popping works for the joke)
morgana was going to be a girl but they changed it.
Aw, fuck, you're right. Shit.
Probably not directly, no. Puyo was a spinoff of Madou Monogatari, and owned by Compile. Sega bought Puyo and made Fever and all that came afterwards, but Compile is now CompileHeart, who make the Neptunia games. That being said, they did make a game for the Vita called "Sorcery Saga" or something which was basically Madou Monogatari with the names switched around. There's even a not-Carbuncle.
The AI set up a ridiculous chain against me off the bat - and then went completely retarded.
Every other time I've played the level, it has just been full retarded the whole time.
Bit of a late reply, but if you host again I'll join.
What's he gonna do with those huge big block?
Also, if anyone doesn't have it on switch I'd be up for ppvs2 instead.
>tfw so bad, stage 2 ai can beat me
Any puyo v puyo?
Ringo needs more up-skirt art.

I'm up for anything

How do I get into puyo puyo?
>that one pic with a ringo over ringo's ringo
not gonna post it since the last time I did I got a 3-day
I think she can't play puyo because of a trauma she got in SUN.
I too want to know how to puyo.
Just bought the game for some puzzle action on the go.
It's fun but I get tired of the same two songs after awhile. It needs an option to change the music like all the other modes.
>Chain limit
Why though
I forgot I had it on
Then all the more reason to protect her dumb little smile.
You watch people who are good play Puyopuyo then you play Puyopuyo a lot.
But is PuyoPuyo only tetris?
I want to molest Ouji
For the very basics of chaining, you gotta put together three puyos of one color, and then build a second colored group on top of that so that when the second group pops, a puyo will fall into place and cause a chain with the first group.
Refer to pic related. Put together the three reds, build the three greens on top of it like so, and then place the fourth red on top of the greens so that when the greens pop, the red will fall and pop the reds. It can be further extended then by placing the blues over the three greens like so, causing a three-chain when the blues pop, making the single green fall and pop the green group, and so on with red.
There are specific types of chaining forms, but I think the simplest thing to start with is just messing around trying to build small chains like this out of whatever you're given. Once you can do that, the story mode at least should more or less be a breeze. After that you can start looking into different building forms and transitions like GTR if you're interested in really gitting gud.
Oh, no that's not what I meant. I meant are there any games besides the newest one that I need to play?
>Try to set up a three-chain
>Fuck up because of trash puyos
>Start building around it to recover
>Pop some puyos and it ends up setting off a five-chain and I didn't even realize I was setting up for it
Best feeling.
I want to be eaten by ouji
but only if he's in fish form
Drill 3-1 stairs until you can get a 5-chain every time. Once you make the pattern a couple dozen time you'll start to see how to make it more efficiently and you should slowly start to realize how the game should be played.
After that learn some more patterns and GTR and you'll be BAYOE~Ning in no time you'll still probably get wrecked online though
Oh, whoops. Well, not really. If you are interested in the older games, Puyo Puyo Tsu and Puyo Puyo Fever are also common starting points. The SNES version of Tsu has an English patch but it really doesn't matter, and Fever was localized.
But if you're just interested in starting with Puyo Tetris, there's really nothing wrong with doing that either.
I'd recommend Puyo Puyo Tsu for super famicom if you want an easily emulated compile-era game.
>ocean prince vore
Oh boy, time for me to post /trash/ memes.

Not gonna post the images, though, because I'm not sure if I'd get banned or not.
Here's the pattern. it's easier to make than it looks.
