Guess resolusion on switch version
Guess resolusion on switch version
400 or lower
Definitely below 480, and 360 is the standard a\under that, maybe 360.
LIES
Source?
540p
PC's looks like it's from Daggerfall.
eyes dont perceive reality in peixels
thus there is no difference your a idiot
420p
>swapping the ps4 one with PC
Why are all these ugly as shit? Consoles got fixed graphics, and it's disgusting.
PC one is understandable since it's on the lowest.
...
What do you mean? Handheld or docked?
Whadda give a fuck?
PEOPLE, WE'RE GETTING FUCKING PORTABLE DOOM!
Both run at the same external resolution 720p, now the internal...
Disgusten
It does say "PC Low/540p" to demonstrate how the Switch's best compares to PC's worst
i dont understand why
was there even a demand before? i dont think so
No proof
>muh graphics
Nice source
Handheld
>I-I KNEW THE PS4 IS BETTER THAN PC
>No motion/gyro controls
Dropped
Who cares. It's 30 fps. There are games that can't compromise on framerates and Doom is definietly one of them.
fucking faggot
>Hey just believe everything Sup Forums says with no source lol
Moron
They said earlier today that it was 720p in both handheld and docked mode.
720p docked
540p handheld
>Popular game ported to portable console
>Necessary optimizations to run at stable 30fps without any drops
>Looks great on small screen
>It's still fun
>Sup Forums is still butthurt
Because it's embarrassing. The game runs at 200 locked fps ultra at 1920x1080. I could probably play at 4k 100 fps on my rig. This thing struggles with 540p 30 fps low settings. It's garbage.
On a handheld? Are you dense?
You're aware even the other console versions are medium at scalable 1080p, and can't even maintain a steady Framerate right
there is a screen resolution ie your monitor and a rendering resolution at which the game rendered at.
Dark Souls 1 on PC without mods is always rendered at 720p iirc and then put into your screen resolution at 1080p for example and this is why its blurry shit.
In Arma games you can set the render and screen resolution individually.
you have a point but it's a CONSTANT 30 fps meaning no annoying drops at any point and the console itself has potato hardware compared to a decent desktop.
>comparing a screen 50cm from your face to a screen on the other side of the room
Consoles don't need as good visuals.

I'm just telling you what they said. Don't shoot the messenger.
>hey man, your car is pretty slow, it can only go 30 mph
>yeah but it can go EXACTLY 30 mph without slowdown so that makes it okay!
>uh alright dude
>speeds off at 60 mph
I'd prefer a food analogy over a clunky car analogy th
>car analogies
>hey man, your [FOOD OR BEVERAGE] is pretty slow, it can only go 30 [CALORIES OR KILOCALORIES]
>yeah but it can go EXACTLY 30 [CALORIES OR KILOCALORIES] without [LOSING FLAVOR] so that makes it okay!
>uh alright dude
>[EATS] off at 60 [CALORIES OR KILOCALORIOES]
b-b-but it's impressive that it runs on a handheld!
source?
That's more like it
>hey man this food doesn't quite taste like shit, but it's not exactly masterchef material
>yeah but it ALWAYS tastes mediocre so that makes it okay
>uh alright dude
>enjoys a gourmet medium rare filet-mignon
now work out how to shove numbers into that
>PS4 vs PC
it would be like paying 60 dollars for the mediocre meal, when the gourmet meal also costs 60.
It's like, yeah you can have the okay on, but why?
>multiplats on a nintendo console
hehehe
thanks
Because you got the okay one on the go, while for the gourmet one, you have to stay at home for.
reminds me when they put half life 2 on original xbox. pulled some black magic and rewrote the engine but they did it.
This compares a beta version of Doom for Switch with a released version of Doom for PS4 PRO
Good point, if anything we should assume the Switch version will be even worse.
I don't really give a shit about the graphics but I do care about framerate. I lost interest once they announced 30 fps.
Who cares you should only be playing this on pc anyway
It deson't even make sense for the Switch's screenshots to be this blurry. A lower resolution wouldn't make everything more blurry. It would make everything more pixelated. I don't trust these comparison.
>Handheld game looks worse than a game on a console
Whoa.
>consoles are fast food where PCs are cooking gourmet at home
yeah, that sounds about right
>PC
that is your problem
...
They probably used a 360p version of the Switch youtube trailer vs direct feed from the PS version.
People forget that the disparity between SNES doom and PC doom was far greater. SNES doom was barely playable. Yet, no one would argue that the SNES is a bad console, because of all the amazing games it gave us.
Consoles are not supposed to be as powerful as PCs. Never have, and never will be.
It's amazing that a portable system today can even run the game smoothly, albeit at a diminished resolution and framerate.
Or maybe it's a shame that PCs are so slacking, that they let the disparity between technology close this much.
>no one would argue that the SNES is a bad console, because of all the amazing games it gave us
Tell me about all 4 of those amazing Switch games that aren't ports of older games.
That's probably the case. But I'm reminded of the time when Capcom promoted the HD port of Okami by using blurry screenshots. Can't trust these companies either.
Will you settle down. So fucking aggro for no reason. I wasn't even saying that switch is a great console. I'm just pointing out that a console can be even more disparate in technology to it's PC contemporary then the switch, and still be considered great. Which illustrated the point that greater technology is not the end-all-be-all for a gaming platform. And that shitting on the switch for lacking technology is really just empty blustering. If you want to shit on it for it's lacking library, fine. You probably have a point about that. Assuming you don't care for any of it's exclusive titles. But shitting on doom's resolution and framerate is retarded.
Guess resolution on SNES version
rendering technique to make the low resolution less obvious, you fucking brainlet
youtube.com
People had portable doom for some time now and this is running on worst GPU in existence.
And this is pretty much what it's going to look like in handheld mode.
What bums me out, and keeps me from buying it again, is that it's only 30fps.
Dumbass, blur and dithering is used when enlarging a low resolution image to a larger dimension. Not when you scale an image down to lower dimension. The smaller screen would make pixelation less obvious.
If only it just looked worse, but it also runs worse: it's only 30 fps.
It's not a handheld.
>dithering
Do you even know what the fuck you are on about? Dithering is related to color depth not resolution.
what is it?
Dithering is any kind of alternating noise in order to reduce banding.
Home console.
Banding is caused by low color depth not resolution.
Does this mean that PS4 and Xbone can do this too?
It's more like paying 10 for delivery versus buying ingredients for 10 and making everything from scratch but it tastes better
One that has to take into consideration it is portable.
>Reviewers and tech analysts like DF keep pointing out how impressive the Switch is to run these games despite it's tablet status
>Sup Forums filters out all positive words and just jerks off about numbers
>But when Who The Literally from whatever company shit talks the thing his words are taken as the gospel truth
DF has been sucking nintendo, sony and microsoft dick for that matter
>A lower resolution wouldn't make everything more blurry. It would make everything more pixelated. I don't trust these comparison.
take an image of 500pixels. that is the ps4 version. take an image of 120pixels and scale it up to the size of the ps4 version.
blurry.
640x360 checkerboard (outputting at 720p).
Well, doesn't that suggest they have no bias and just say what they believe?
