>"The development theme is to properly fill any holes left in the story and to make Final Fantasy XV complete. Director Hajime Tabata said “It won’t only be about digging further into characters through additional episodes, but we must show more for the setting of the world that is its base in order to better depict how its characters are living."
>"Episode Ignis was expected to be the last content for the game, but Square Enix has decided to keep adding content to the game into next year."
Damn, stings like a motherfucker. Knowing you bought and played an early access game advertised as a complete game, only to walk away completely underwhelmed and unsatisfied, and then have the director come out a year later and say "wasn't finished and definitely wasn't as good as it could've been LMAO, gimme just one more year plz". And it's pretty fucking sad, considering they've spent this past year and a half adding all this Universe fluff, which still isn't sufficient.
I seriously fucking hate XV and everything it stands for.
As someone who was close to purchasing it on PS4, but though 'nah fuck it, PC will get more frames' this just makes me happy to read.
Whatever this game is, at least the version I'll get will be it's best.
Joshua Ross
I'd take that over what happened to MGSV. Not complete and never finished. Be glad they're finishing it at all.
Nathan Evans
I wasn't underwhelmed or unsatisfied though. After XIII, sure, but not XV.
Alexander Adams
>more content is a bad thing.
i'm looking forward to playing this 4K on my xbox one x.
Lincoln Long
>HURR I hate games everyonr was disappoint by dis
Nah fuck you. I really enjoyed XV and episode Gladious.
David Green
fuck off i spent 60 bucks on this bullshit
What kind of fucking place do we fucking live in that makes it acceptable to release games which are literally unfinished? It's a scummy and disgusting business practice. Imagine going to see a movie and half of the plot is just fucking erased.
Brody Wilson
It's been so long that the game is put under development, and yet they need more time to make it less shit after it's released in unfinished & unsatisfactory state? That's pretty embarassing, although it might be good for fanboys since SE don't just walk away and pretend the game is alright as is.
Thomas Parker
What went SO wrong with FFXV?
Asher Ward
Kill yourself
Everyone was warned before release and you fell for day 1 pricing. Literally people like you are the reason they get away with this.
Justin Nelson
Got to give them credit for trying to fix it up even though they could have just walked away from it after launch.
Lucas Diaz
I am ok with this as long as they actually do fill in the gaps along with adding additional content. Like said, at least they are doing something rather than nothing.
Zachary Wright
>a company actually wants to further improve a game and give the fans what they want instead of just saying "deal with it nerds" like every other company out there >I'm supposed to be upset by this and the added replay value
why?
Lucas Mitchell
Welcome to the modern day, where early access, crowdfunding and patreon is the norm. It was only a matter of time until AAA devs started doing it, too.
And until people stop being stupid and encouraging devs to do this shit by pre-ordering and buying early access, it's going to happen more and more.
Jeremiah Sullivan
Well, the fact that it still isn't finished is a major part of it.
Owen Lopez
I just want magic to be tied to MP and more spells
Christian Sanchez
>Even Final Fantasy XV’s staunchest defenders—of which I am one—would agree that the game’s story felt messy and incomplete. Tabata agrees. “Understandably within the main game there were certain aspects that lacked explanation, and that’s been some of the feedback we received from fans,” he said.
>"Of course creating this kind of grand adventure on PS4 and Xbox One, it’s a hard task to accomplish. In that sense, we probably lacked the strength, or abilities and skills, in order to really finish that in a complete sense.
>Tabata added that one of his goals through Final Fantasy XV’s downloadable content—which will continue for an indeterminate time to come—was to patch plot holes and give players a better understanding of the game’s story.
Ahahahaha well at least the hack isn't damage controlling anymore and is coming clean. Fucking hilarious honestly. XV is such a triumphant trainwreck.
Aiden Jenkins
>Buy a FF game in 2016 for 60$ >In 2018 the game still has plot holes, missing cinematics, missing chapters and the story is still unfinished and explained like shit
Benjamin Brooks
so they know the game was a colosal blunder like ff14 ver.1but wont admit it?
James Smith
Does xvkun still show up in these threads or has he given up on this piece of shit too?
Nathaniel Collins
will you buy FFXVI, Sup Forums? what about the VII remake?
Brandon Foster
>Literally
opinion discarded
Jonathan Hughes
>probably lacked the strength, or abilities and skills what is this faggot even atlking about?! all they had to make is some more cutscenes. fucking hell.
Brayden Ross
thank you, con man.
Brandon Bennett
Game will never be "fixed" when this awful directors philosophy is involved.
This man cannot make a combat system or a good boss fight for shit.
Wyatt Phillips
He showed up when the PC version was announced so I'm sure he's still alive
Brayden Rogers
>tfw anons are too underage to know this has been happening to FF, and most SE games, since forever
Jose Long
He didn't post for 1-2 weeks but was still lurking 24/7 until he couldn't take it anymore and exploded again this week
Henry Gonzalez
So the PC version still won't feature all content? Guess i'll have to wait a couple more years before buying it.
Christopher Cook
It's been in development for 10 fucking years or more.
Square needs to take notes from Namco and release mainline FF games every 1-2 years so we don't spend 10 years getting hyped for disappointing garbage.
Juan Stewart
Did X really feel unfinished without this and had no optional content?
Zachary Hernandez
>we probably lacked the strength, or abilities and skills Bullshit, they just lacked a clear vision and had hte wrong priorities. Literalyl all they did for like 2 years is make one big green and one big brown area because muh big mepty open world so amazing and then forget that there's still content to put into it and story
Jordan Murphy
Next time make sure to finished your game before releasing it, SE. Also, be honest with your customer, you guys are fuckinng terrible liar.
Jayden Myers
>tfw everyone around me shilled this game so hard and urged me to pre-order it >tfw I listened to my tingling shit-game sense and told them to fuck off >tfw I was right >tfw they still try to damage control afterwards and defended the season pass >tfw this article
Asher Jones
Jesus fuck how incompetent can you possibly be to accidentally make an early access game?
Eli Fisher
With Tabata already admitted that the game is an unfinished mess? He got BTFO real hard, user.
John Garcia
Pretty fucking /hype/
I'm glad Square Enix understands the value of this masterpiece.
Samuel Sullivan
>being this fucking retarded
Idiots like you are ruining this hobby.
Isaiah Anderson
>start developing a game as a kind of spinoff for the mainline game >make mainline game intentionally shit >people get hyped for spin off because it looks different >freeze the development >wait for 10 years looking at people going mad over it >announce that development is resumed >see everyone losing their minds from hype >release the game intentionally shit >see everyone losing their minds from dissapointment >start slowly releasing cut parts from the game one by one as DLC >people buy it because they starve for content and proper conclusion >promise to continue "fill holes" for the next 5 years >release Ultimate Complete ReMix All Holes Filled 2.5 edition 5 years later for full price >bath in insane amounts of money
Henry White
I should've listened desu. He was trying to warn us all.
>tfw it's been one year since Conanposting
Joseph Morgan
Who is really at fault here, Sup Forums? Nomura, Tabata or SE?
Samuel Harris
>X >Unfinished The unfinished mes market as complete game start with start with XII, user.
Dominic Bennett
Make up your fucking mind, SE
Connor Evans
see
Elijah Morris
His twitter is nothing but RTs about XV. Nearly twenty of them just from today.
Jace Butler
See It's a mix between Tabata, his incompetent team, and SE as a whole. He even says it had nothing to do with Versus.
Luke Wilson
Good man.
Chase Garcia
he basically covered all of those things in what he said. For a game to come out after 10 years of ???? is a miracle and it is clear they needed the strength, ability and skill to create a great product if it took 10 years to release a mediocre one.
Asher Moore
fucking wow
Joshua Mitchell
Pretty much every FF ever had a troubled dev cycle and a ton of cut content. They need to stop keeping the public updated on this shit. Just tell us when the game is like 3 months out and don't ever tell us how much ended up on the cutting room floor.
James Rivera
>makes a twitter account >wants noone to look at it Why doesn't he set that shit to private or followers only then
Jordan Reyes
This XV is way more incomplete than other FFs and even people that didn't follow it can see it, but still. They need to stop announceing shit to early and having updates every few weeks just to cut even more or implement non of the things they talk about, they even show shit that was basicly cut at this point in artbooks etc. Just do it like most companies and show a trailer when the game is a few months or a year away and be done with it, but SE basicly starts development when they show a trailer. Wll, for FF at least, for some reason most other IPs at Square don't really have that problem and it's only really been that bad since the HD era
FF needs a break
Benjamin Butler
Please stop. Honestly, you guys talking about him constantly are almost as annoying as he is.
Ian Johnson
All they need to do with FF16 is make the game and not even tell us until it's almost done. All of these games lately and keeping fans along for the whole ride. Shit gets cut
FF7 was going to be a modern detective story at one point, if that was happening today we'd have FF7-detective edition fans mourning the loss of their game all over the internet.
At one point IIRC FF9 was going to be a story about 2 dragoons, and honestly I think that looks rad as hell, but I love the ff9 we got because I didn't have 2 years to fall in love with the idea of a dragoon game.
Kayden Morales
Please stop. You're replying to the people that talk about him constantly, you're almost as annoying as he is. Get used to it, Final Fantasy threads are some of the worst on the internernet, but xv-kun takes the cake.
Ryder Scott
Didn't part of that basicly turn into P.E.?
Julian Wright
I think some of the ideas did yeah.
Brayden Howard
gamefaqs.com/community/bazztek >last gamefags post >a few minutes ago Guess he'll be here soon. Also funny how he always calls others fanboys yet ti doesn't count for him even though he is one of the worst fanboys and sucks tabatas dick all day
Luke Parker
I hope he killed himself
Imagine deluding yourself every single day for ten years that something is the greatest thing ever, and then the director just comes out and says "nah it was pretty shit desu"
Charles Collins
Just let it die alr- oh wait games as a service right?
Nolan Long
MGSV was more complete than FFXV will ever be, even after the patches.
Ethan Diaz
Cool, I wouldn't care either way. But you guys following him around like a weird fanclub is fucking weird. I'm pretty sure he's mentally ill but I expect better of you guys.
Luis Smith
Try harder next time. If X and XV are at the same level for you then FF can just die already. At least X had tons of optional content and nothing story related felt as unfinished as it did in XV. It didn't even have ONE optional summon
Ryan Cruz
Why? People did for years with characters like CWC. I think we might actually be entering a rebirth of Final Fantasy threads soon, now that XV is confirmed shit.
Jace Walker
I doubt it. We're going to talk about 15 until something new comes out most likely. Other than the odd thread where we rate the series and get mad at people who disagree with us, like those retards who think X was top tier.
Lincoln Bell
Not even the people he fllows on twitter like him anymore. He just can't hold back as if FFXV is part of his familyor something.
Connor Wright
I'll pirate it on 2019 when it's almost "finished" PC already has enough early access games anyway
Tyler Wright
>bought game day 1 >enjoyed the story >every couple of months there's new updates and content >get to continually play the game for over a year with fresh and new ideas being presented >no subscription nonsense, just a game that keeps giving >salty antifags think this is a bad thing
Adam Perez
Lol no you wont, half the shit is still not out
Isaac Brown
Yeah, I enjoyed my time with 15. It wasn't perfect, but that's life. I think the multiplayer shit looks cool.
Charles Richardson
I honestly thing XV is a good game. I don't know why it's all black and white with you faggots.
Something is 10/10 gotyay or 0/10 complete trash can't wait for the dlc tho
Owen Barnes
Serious answer, XIV. If that hadn't bombed, Noruma would of had his team to finish it as Versus
Robert Clark
I wish i had zero standards like you. >antifags Oh you're one of those guys. I guess expecting a full game at full price is too much these days. Also i don't want to come back every few months to see a 30 second cutscene or fight antoher monster with the mediocre combat system. Even the fucking MMO has better pacing than this shit
Brody Brooks
I don't care if XV is brought up in discussions, but I'm just glad no one will try to argue that XV is "a masterpiece", or that it "has the best story", or that it's the "best FF" anymore. At least that dreadful side of threads is dead. It's a new beginning.
Colton Gonzalez
Same with Wada being the boss at the time. Every was muh polygon countin XIV 1.0 and nothing was put into content or playability. Part of that is still in XV for some reason. I don't get why Nomuras team was pulled off to help on other titles though, that shit would never fly in other companies
Connor Williams
Don't you need to pay, and have PSN+ for the shitty multiplayer, XV-kun?
Jayden Murphy
He's still here though, just not as often, but when he appears he does harder than ever. He's already going nutson other websites again. This guy will be in his death bed and still defend the game when it's almost finished at that point and Tabatas son took over
Lincoln Lopez
I'm sure people will try to argue that, and who cares if they do. If someone hates turn based combat then FF15 is going to be their favourite in the series, and there's not really anything wrong with that.
Dominic Powell
t. Cunt who started with MGSV If you honestly believe this you need a fucking bullet. Yes i am fucking mad
Nicholas Anderson
I'm glad they're going to address it, but it's a worrying trend for the industry that they're releasing unfinished games like this. I remember MGSV was a kick in the balls in that regard, especially since it'll never be completed. No Man's Sky too, but that game made an incredible turnaround through its content patches and is now kind of fun.
I really think the introduction of patching on consoles is what started this trend. They know they can release unfinished products now and patch it later, so it's getting less and less worth it to play games on release as opposed to waiting 6 months to a year for them to fix everything.
Jacob Thompson
Good. Keep this guy shackled to XV and his new game so he won't be part of anything else at SE.
Sebastian James
This idiot has no fucking brakes on his destructive path. Just stop. Fucking resign. Let someone else take the reigns. You're nothing but a corporate mouthpiece by now.
Caleb Diaz
>need a season pass or to pay for dlc seperately
Nice shill attempt tho
Nolan James
Just let it fucking die already.
Kevin Evans
nice counter argument.
Grayson Adams
No, I don't care about that. People have been talking like that in FF threads for ages. I'm just really glad that the people that parade XV to some heavenly degree and go on damage control tirades can be quelled and brought back down to reality pretty fucking fast now, and no one has to waste their time arguing against it.
Should improve threads significantly.
Carter Gray
>fresh and new ideas
O I am laffin
Jason Long
XV-kun will find new things to latch to or somehow mislead the quotes. He's done it before. Nothing will get through to him. You can't reason with mental illness. Just mock it.
Mason Evans
Not an argument. Just stating that you are cancer.
Xavier White
If you were trying to respond to me, I already have ps+ for other games and the multi will likely be fairly cheap and tide me over until MHworld drops.
I enjoyed XV but it had some major problems. On the one hand I'd like to see the game made better, but really it seems like a waste to resources on a product that's pretty much done selling. Unless they take the ARR approach and completely rebuild the game in order to resell it, but even that's a dumb idea for a single player game. At least Tabata confirmed his next project is a new IP and not FFXVI.
Jaxon Rivera
Who should make FF16. I vote we bring back one of the old guard or someone new, or maybe give Yoshi P a shot.
I veto Tabata Nomura and Toriyama.
Daniel Bell
>Play Sword Art Online Hollow Realization >Has 4 people in a party at once >Combat is actually involving and has many moves you can learn and use >Plenty of buffs too >You can actually command your party to attack all at once, move away from the enemy etc >A fucking SAO game has better combat than a FF game
What timeline is this?
Levi Reed
>actually paying for online
Okay, so you're retarded. Figures.
Jason Jones
I'd like to say Taro but there's no way he wouldn't be forced to tone down his offbeat stuff due to the IP.
Jonathan Young
Hi PCfag what port are you begging for this time?
Ayden Jackson
the battle systems guy, I forgot his name
Brayden Price
I feel sad for the idiots that bought it on console. IT might npt be a great game, but it'll be 100 times more enjoyable on PC.
Honestly wish they would just develop a new FF in style of FF9, back to the roots of castles, medieval style worlds and comfy small villages.
