Switch

What went right ?

games

1. Advertising. The Wii and Switch had it. The Game cube and Wii u didn't.
2. Wii U ports. Only drones owned the Wii u. So they bought it again on the Switch. Casuals didn't own a Wii u So it was new to them
3.parents like to buy their kids tablets so they can ignore them at home and on the go

The Wii U failing. It forced Nintendo to wake up.

Have they made a console revision where the screen doesn't scratch from the dock yet?

this isn't actually a thing that happens

but all those pictures

yeah, the mini was just released. glad i waited

only seen 2 pictures of this allegedly happening, and one of them didn't even line up with where the bumps in the dock are, neither have any evidence that it was actually the dock that caused the scratches either.

The Name.
I'd love to see what would have happened if they named it the Wii S or S-Wii-tch.

The New Wii U

I can't say for certain that it doesn't happen. But I have this suspicion that the dock scratching the screen isn't actually anything that happens unless you're being absolutely retarded with it.

I got a screen protector for mine as I do with all my handheld devices. So I haven't even been all that careful with mine and just slap it onto the dock from whatever angles even it slides across the front. But I have no scratches I can see on mine yet.
It almost feels like you'd have to push the Switch against the front of the dock with force and drag it down alongside the edge while pushing it the whole way. For it to scratch it.

Needless to say I doubt it's anything that happens easily. But get a screen protector they're cheap and you won't have to worry about scratches afterwards.
The hori ones are great when it comes to scratches, but if you want more blunt protection the numerous tempered glass protectors are great too.

>marketing
>focus
>games
>scheduled launches of great games
>Most of their key games review extremely well
>3rd party interest and support
>MOBILE/ TAKE IT ON THE GO
>NO KIDS in ads
>decent simple design
>the gimmick of "switch" to handheld or tv ACTUALLY WORKS AND IS SEAMLESS
>cornered the handheld market due to sony's Vita failure
>people, for the most part, are willing to sacrifice 60 fps and 1080p+ for the ability to take their game on the bus, train or plane
>Reviewers praise the portability because most reviewers travel often making the switch the perfect console for game journalists who therefore praises it for fitting their lifestyle despite most gamers not leaving their homes on a regular basis
which in turn makes the switch look more appealing
>the games are fun and most are exclusive
games that are multiplats get the perk of being portable with very little difference from its ps4 and xbone counterparts.

Nintendo just made a really good move here.

Innovation that isn't a gimmick this time around

Gaming journalists, Nintendo haters, Neogaf, Sup Forums, IGN, various gaming forums predicting doomsday, all got BTFO.

It's gotten to the point where Sony itself refuses to acknowledge there's a market for handhelds/hybrids.

get the fuck out of here with you shit meme kiddy toy """"console""""

Top to bottom, everything.

What console should I own if I wanna feel like a real adult and impress everyone on Sup Forums?

A Neo Geo

Unlike the Wii U, the mimick is mostly a marketing stunt and doesn't affect the performance with, it's still a pretty powerful handheld, also marketing, it's obviously something nee instead of trying to leech off their other successful product

>Nobody complains about battery, wifi connection, joycons sync, dead pixels anymore
>The only bad thing of Zelda was the fps drop, that got fixed
>Skyrim looks as good as in PS4/Xbone
>Doom will run fine with a downgrade not very noticeble
>Sonnygers are now affraid of seeing their majors third-party games in Nintendo, as it will happen with DOOM. GTA V when?
>The best two games in history of Metacritic will be Zelda and Mario
>Two of the last three finalist games of the GOTY award will be Switch exclusives (Zelda in WiiU too)
And don't tell me I'm a nintendofag, I don't even own one (yet). It is just too funny to see sonnygers despair

I still have a fucked left Joycon so I leave my dock on the center of the living room, cats dogs and myself constantly kicking it over by accident and no scratches or any damage. Console war people are so overly dramatic

5.5% market share, how can Sony recover

Breath of the wild and being the most powerful/only portable on the market

The red Joycon.

No one took it seriously so it had no real competition

Yeah, it's called not being a fucking nigger with the thing. Works like a charm.

Two controllers. For me it's the biggest selling point. I love to pop those bad boys out and play some mk8 with friends, or family

>Switch just arrived today
Any demos to show off the HD rumble?

PS4 so you can play some games.

It also doesn't make you look like a complete fucking child in public.

>but muh portable
Eat a dick, Switch isn't any more portable than the PS4 or XBox.

Not a demo, but Fast RMX is cheap and will make your joycons shake so hard you gf won't even need to buy that dildo she wanted anymore
