you are not big boss

Empty open world.

I liked but I've barely played any of the games and i don't give a shit about any of the backstory.

Great gameplay shit story.

It's was a decent port that technologically illiterate Kojicucks put on a pedestal for some reason.

You aren't Big Boss, but you actually might be Big Boss who tricked himself into thinking he's not Big Boss

Well I've never played another MGSV game before so hopefully I'll feel the same

Kojima voted for Trump

half the shit is locked behind tonnes of GMP and resources you have to farm for, shit customisation and cant even customise the character

Huey was right, DD wasn't an dog.

It had its moment but kinda sucked. Most of it was filler and not even especially good one, it had no idea how to use an open world and the last third was an unfinished mess.

There was some merit to the whole Venom Snake fakeout but it wasn't a good enough hook to build a 50 hours game around.

The best game in the franchise by far, but "fans" hate it because it doesn't have enough muh ebin meme plot.

Every important cut-scene was already in the trailers, seriously.

I think people hate it because it clearly unfinshed and most of the missions are the same shit.

WORDS THAT KILL

>literally a nanomachines tier explanation for why words literally do kill instead of an analysis of the interactions of language and power

>implying MGS2 wasnt the same shit as MGS1

I still maintain that it's great. Not what people were expecting but it has its place.

Those charts are shit.

shut up you stupid dumb weeb virgin shitter

it's not amazing but for a Japanese company it's one of the best ports out there.

Gameplay is amazing and it's definitely fun.

Venom is more of a Big Boss than Big Boss himself.

>starts off with a bang
>fucking fire unicorns and whales chasing you and shit
>then you get dropped in an empty open world with copy/paste outposts
>save Kaz
>listen to Kaz bitch about shit for 10 minutes
>get dropped in the world again
>"Hey boss go get that thing we need in that place and shit and maybe grab some of this other shit if you can be bothered"
>rinse and repeat until the game abruptly ends and nothing you did for 25 hours feels important, rewarding or most importantly - fun

Fuck this game.

No the real one builds a literal nation for soldiers with its own national anthem and everything. Venom is just a goon.

It made me miss cutscenes, oddly. Cause nothing fucking happens after you take out Quiet.

The game is unfinjshed, and some fucking how Ground Zeroes has better story and map design.

...

Those charts are correct.
It was a good port, but not some super magical port that runs on DOS laptops like Kojicucks would have you believe.

Niether venom nor BB ever acted like they were in charge. I love Kaz but Why give Snake the title of Boss if he's just going to act like a soldier instead of a leader?

>tell me about the gane
>well the port wasn't particularly good

You faggots really are a cancer on this medium.

Big Boss was the greatest soldier of the 20th century it would be a waste not use his talents when he's still young enough. Old BB with the white hair wasn't active in the field anymore.

yea suck it you BITCH

No story or gameplay. I hope you like monotony, microtransactions, and revisiting the same locations over and over.

>Those charts are correct.
I finished phantom pain on amd x2 4800, 4gb of ram, and 730 1gb.

On 1400x900, mostly lows some mediums, 60 fps.

...

>ctrl+f
>Who two hits
>not one meme who

WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO?

>Empty open world
>fixed by a simple mod
>konami refuses to patch the game or release any other content besides a fucking reskin of big boss with worse stats

lmao

>1400x900, mostly lows some mediums
What exactly are you trying to prove here? That games run well if you turn down the settings far enough?

Those benchmarks test the games at maxed settings, 1080p. If you turned down the settings of every single game on that list to '1400x900, mostly lows some mediums' then they would continue to BTFO MGSV in terms of performance.

If you didn't ride the hype train the game was great. It falls apart in the end and is clearly unfinished. Best way to describe the story is "pants on head retard" but it's so weird and out there it is entertaining.

Tl;Dr it's a good game if you don't get a hung up about how it could have been one of the GOAT'S if it wasn't for company politics.

>blue pill
>I let my internal hype, fanfiction, and demand for content regardless of quality sour my experience and ended up disappointed, parroting complaints to anonymous virgins for minute corroborations that my limited point of view and stunted cultural appreciation are not, at least, my own failings, but those of a collective consortium of other brainlets and plebians

>red pill
>I understand the narrative techniques, appreciate that only the most polished content was deemed suitable for release, and revere the intricate ludonarrative consonnance that make MGSV one of the greatest works of interactive fiction ever created

God damn you moron, I'm trying to prove the game is well optimized. Your fucking charts change only one variable.

In comparison in Battlefield 3 I struggled to get 30 frames.

>no opinions allowed

venom created outer heaven while the original big boss was doing foxhound
so until zanzibar land, it's pretty much the opposite

Opinions are fine, as long as you realize there's a right opinion and a wrong one.

It's more of a sequel to MGS2 than MGS3 was.

It's a game that Kojima spent five years making and it still felt rushed and incomplete, but everyone gives him a free pass and demonizes Konami.

Filling an empty world with enemies does not make it a good open world or game. The cassette player still sucks, you can't fly between points on a helicopter, there's still a bunch of wildlife missing from the game, compounds and checkpoints are still horribly designed, and you can't even climb properly. Mailing yourself doesn't save the game, meaning you can lose progress on two different locations. Zelda did this too. The way they implemented mailing is in itself retarded, with some places having patrols that won't let you move without being spotted. There are buildings without objects to boost you on top of them that you can just never reach. And the list goes on. As an open world game it's inexcusable how little it lets you do.

half finished but more finished than anything else the gaming industry is releasing recently.

People were expecting Metal Gear Solid 4: Revenge of the Sith. A gratuitous checklist of canon events and fanservice accompanied by Big Boss screaming with angst and killing kids or something as he truly becomes the Evil Big Boss and puts on the trench coat right at the end as we look over Outer Heaven and there's a metal gear and there's solid snake and he's voiced by david hayter and

Instead we got Kojima going over some of the themes of the series again like memetics in a way that was intended to give a sense of thematic closure and seperate the player from Snake, as well as showing the "fall" of Big Boss in a way that both was subtle and also was consistent with his descent we see across Snake Eater and Peace Walker, turning what was already pretty much the Big Boss of the original games not only by the end of Snake Eater, but definitely the end of Peace Walker (What is he doing literally any different at the start of GZ than at the start of MG1?) into the final descent by making the ideological extremist into a total hypocrite in a way that very clever.

Unfortunately Kojima let his stewpot of neato cool ideas, anime and hollywood influences as well as a handful of actually good ideas get the better of him and the exploration of these themes are super poorly done and ham handed, as well as characters lacking much development or interesting writing, with a main story that was all over the place and utterly unengaging. The gameplay, whilst having rock solid core controls, fails by having a boring empty open world and relying on the player wanting to be varied and experiment rather than just taking the same rewarding yet boring approach over and over and over and over, demonstrating.

TL;DR: MGSV: The Phantom Pain

*demonstrating that sometimes it's necessary to have the developer guide the player rather than dump them in a sandbox.

>it's an open world out there
A little too on the nose, Doc.

But hes still a Dog, dawg.

literally the worst possible story

blatantly unfinished

but also, best gameplay in the series despite the repetition

> I'm trying to prove the game is well optimized.
You're not doing a good job then.

FACT: an R7 260x runs Battlefield 4 at maxed settings, 34-41 FPS
FACT: an R7 260x runs MGSV at maxed settings, sub 20 FPS.

So how about you tell me which game is more well optimized? Which game scales better with lower end hardware?
>but you can lower the settings

Okay, so which game, using the empirical evidence provided in that chart, can you assumed would run better if you lower the settings? The game that can already squeeze out 34-41 FPS out of your card at maxed settings or the game that cannot get above 20FPS at maxed settings?

MGS V is decently optimized, but pretty much every game released during that same time performs better and looks better on similar hardware.

This.
