Competition with Odyssey.
"To be more specific, Playtonic Games noted that it needed to wait for Unity 5.6 to fix some of the problems Yooka-Laylee’s Nintendo Switch build was experiencing. However, even more problems appeared when the Unity update was released. It is only after all of these problems are fixed that the game can be submitted to Nintendo. Once it is submitted, then the developer can start thinking about release dates."
ARM processor as opposed to the x86 architecture of other platforms
Im not getting a switch until x-mas so I dont give a shit lol
Nintendo has always made it a fuss to put games on their system. Expensive devkits that are restricted to who they want to hand them out to, lockout chips back in the old days, etc. But I don't think that's the problem behind this.
why would you give a shit about yooka laylee of all things regardless?
Because video games with reptile protagonists need support?
Back in the day people made the same games for vastly different console and home computers without complaining.
Now they all bitch that "it's too haaard".
You can get the game for less than $30 these days brand new for the PS4 and Xbone, even more if you have that Best Buy 20% off any new game membership, y’all drones better not pay full price for it because I have a feeling they wanna port it asap bc y’all niggas are thirsty for games.
This is false, difficulties in port development has always been a thing
It's not too hard. It's "wow i'm not getting 75/h for this? just say it's impossible and not do able. I'll be in the break room drinking all the coffee"
Playtonic is incompetent.
That's what happens when your staff is 80% artists/environmental designers.
I blame Steve Mayles
Wise and Bayliss dont deserve this shit

It's a unity issue, not a Switch issue
>implying its not the game dev's fault
Its a kickstarter game, nyiguh
>waited to play this on a nintendo system cause it "feels right"
>turns out its shit
>Mario Odyssey is literally out in a month
Does it even matter any more? The damage is done.
Why doesn't the switch support Unity?
Is this why A Hat in Time doesn't have a switch release date yet?
sounds more like unity being inconsistent as fuck
also this, developers forgot how to optimize. they want raw power to solve their problems instead
But user. How can this be when Mario Odyssey runs good? Aren't they both Unity games?
unity
It does support unity, it's just there is an issue with the firmware, the recent one will apparently fix it
>Mario Odyssey
>Unity
I don't know where you got that info from.
Pick one, it's probably right.
>The Nintendo Switch Indie program isn't really because the Switch is indie-friendly, it's a marketing scheme and they've been paying off developers like Team Meat to port BoI to the Switch, same with larger companies like Bethesda
>The Nintendo Switch cannot handle YL
>Playtonic is completely incompetent
>Playtonic is composed of scam artists, the Wii U version was impossible anyway but they suckered nostalgiafags into giving them money anyway
>Mario game
>Unity
It's a Unity issue, not Playtonic or Nintendo.
Can't help it if the developer is incompetent as fuck.
Just look at fucking DOOM running on the thing
its not like anyone cares
the game is crap and their ruined their reputation by retroactively censoring jontron over some virtue signaling shit and let their publishers (why even have one if it was crowdfunded?) sjw goons insult their backers
they can go fuck themselves all theyve shown is that nuts and bolts was no accident
