Overrated useless dumbed down garbage that becomes one of the best open world games available when you fill it with 20gb of mods.
Overrated for sure.
But nothing wrong with it outside of the general dumbing down like the other user said. Game-breaking bugs in the console versions was also pretty unacceptable.
overrated by critics and steam underrated by Sup Forums
Vanilla: overrated
Modded: best shit
If you liked BoTW you'll like Skyrim a lot.
Accurately rated, but is now 6 years old and has reached its "been there done that" stage.
10/10 porn game
6/10 actual game
This definitely
Its the same with Fallout 4, its objectively a bad game which has been simplified to the point that it can barely be called an RPG but when you mod it to fuck, it starts becoming very, very good.
This.
Actual game is pretty lackluster. It has its good points but overall it's a very shallow imitation of an RPG. Skyrim really broke my heart man, ever since Bloodmoon I wanted to go to Skyrim and see all the weird shit like Werebears and dudes shouting down cities with their voice. Pretty sure there was even talk about a sect of Voice users so powerful they have to live gagged because their voices are so strong.
None of that uniqueness that makes Morrowind stand-out is present in Skyrim. I enjoyed my time with it, but at the end of the day it was a very rushed game and you can clearly tell it was.
And yeah it's a 10/10 porn game if you can get the mods working.
>Do I fit in yet, /v??
what did I meme by this
Came here to post this. Sure, there are some really nice moments every once in a while, such as the main story dungeon where these giant pillars with faces raise from beneath the water. Sadly, the most of the content isn't even close to on par with those better moments. It's clear that there's been a few guys with good ideas and skills to execute their vision, while the rest of the adventure is really shallow and repetitive.
Someone post those webms comparing Dragon's Dogma, Dark Souls and Skyrim
I wish the modding community would do like they did with morrowind and make this ultimate download pack already premodded with everything checked to ensure no crashes or bugs. Modding is such a fucking pain.
>give an honest opinion on Skyrim saying it's overrated but I still enjoyed it
>le ebin meme response
Yup.
Holy shit that looks great.
i don't get how people can put thousands of hours into it
off topic: whats the deal with Bethesda and their cannibalism fetish?
M O D S
Mods really increase the game's longevity. Unfortunately mods cannot fix the game's god awful quests.
I know, right.
Even when we try to be reasonable, it's like niggas never even bother to calculate that chance and assume we're shitposting anyway.
SHUT IT DOWN
SHUT EVERYTHING DOWN
>huge rock falls on him and nothing happens
Kek, this game was a mistake.
if you have played actual rpgs you hate it. theres no point in trying to explain why its so shit to its fans, they just have never played actual good rpgs
its like spending your life enjoying great food from your french grandma and the poor negro down the street tells you mcdonalds big mac is superior to your grandmas food in every way, its the best food ever made. a symptom of ignorant consumers, not of a well made product
If by overrated you're referring to the critical or financial reception of the game, then yeah.
Otherwise, everyone with an iq above 100 sees this game as the pile of shit it is.
It's good for about 20-25 hours of its 200+ hours of content. After that, you begin realizing that the writing, design, and variety are non existent.
Modders nowadays are very bitchy and will take down any "unofficial" download and guides have to link to their download pages instead and hope to god that the modder doesn't have a bout of depression and removes the mod.
I guess someone could make a torrent of something like STEP though, there probably are some already.
It's utter trash but Sup Forums loves it
Hi, Todd.
for the time it was great but in the past 6 years its become nothing more than a good "rpg" that is kept on life support by a modding community so like 8/10.
at least it was better than fallout 4 am i right guys? ahaha
>for the time it was great
It really wasn't though. Vanilla Skyrim right now is as good as it was when it launched, not very good.
Are you blind? The rock killed it
>Overrated
No
>Accurately rated
Absolutely not. it wasn't a 10/10 but it wasn't bad either, actually it's just good. Solid 7/10. Gets better with mods.
inb4 "BUT IF IT NEEDS MODS ITS BAD"
...
>do I fit in yet? xdd
not an argument
not an argument
lamefag.
Honestly 8/10 game. But compared to other stuff that has 10/10 ratings like witcher 3, botw etc, it's criminally underrated at 10/10
someone explain how people can enjoy bethesda games without mods?
not talking about sex mods but just visual and gameplay mods, combat mods and all that shit.
i like skyrim but without mods i don\'t think that i'd get past the 3 hour mark.
basically a fantasy simulation which makes it boring
Mods. Or rather a subset of mods. Go to /tesg/ and find out for yourself, but put on your anti autism mask first, dont wanna catch it and become one of them.
>skyrim
>simulation
not really,
Mount and blade is a better sim.
skyrim is all flash no bang it's got a lot of surface-level shit but it's surface level and there's barely any underlying sandbox mechanics.
Normies, like my friend, and consolefags play it once. Go trough all quests and guilds without caring for lore or character and never play it again. Autists like me install religion, home building, butterfly etc mods which basically turn in into Mount and Blade and roleplay as various characters for thousands of hours. And degenerates install sex mods and fap for thousands of hours.
This game has no competition unfortunately.
>religion mod
what's a good one
Autism.
10/10 if you roleplay as a sexual addicted Argonian or khajit
With the amount of people both praising and shitting on it, I'd say it's rated just right.
I actually enjoy the base game. Modding easily turns it into a 10/10 though. You can mod in almost any experience you want, though it can make an already not quite so stable game even more likely to crash, even via simple clothing mods.
"they have discovered our secret of developing a mod to transfer real life currency from one nation to another via Skyrim, pull the fucking plug now!"
What are some essential mods aside from graphic ones? What about gameplay mods?
Sex mods too because I deleted my pirated version and forgot all the mods I used.
>This game has no competition unfortunately.
Nope. It has none whatsoever.
your gonna have to decide on if you want
gameplay
or
sexmods
because they conflict pretty heavily if you try to do both. It isn't that it's not possible to have both, but there are many conflicting issues that will have you tearing your hair out if you try to do both.
it doesnt, it has a pretty good flow if you do it right
play game normally -> lose a fight -> get raped and enslaved -> get out of enslavement and go back to playing normally
or in my case
>get enslaved
>get raped repeatedly
>have so many mods activated that game gets confused and gives you only a fraction percent chance to escape your binds regardless of menu options. Always stuck in a yoke and blindfolded
well its not the game's fault youre an idiot that was too lazy to go through the mod menus
I gave a 100% chance to escape and it sits there like a goof while I get raped over and over for hours.
the chance to escape is for the default shit, theres multiple device types which you cant get out of unless you use a blacksmith or some shit
I like Realistic Needs and Diseases, Campfire and Frostfall because they make half of the items which are already in game actually useful for something. Also frostfall makes you somewhat feel cold of skyrim and is incredibly comfy
Better Vampires and Moonlight Tales are always fun to have
Extensible Follower Framework is fucking mandatory if you want to have any follower
Alternate start is a must have also.
Jaxonz Positioner is quite useful.
Wildcat + TK dodge + attack commitment make combat less shit
Currently I have fun with Tundra Defense and Heart Craft and roleplaying as castaway who then became mercenary, legionnaire, got rich, became noble who turns into werebear at full moon, built small village around his house, put away his armor and two handed weapon, and only use clothes, crossbow, one handed sword and mostly rely on expandable guards. I wanted to try Bruma or Beyond Reach but shit is still buggy and i don't want to fuck up my save.
Mods improve the graphics a lot but they only make the gameplay slightly better, so it's best served as a lewd simulator.
only problem is in a full yolk + blindfolded setup, you move about an inch or two per minute forward and any people In town that see you can have at you. It's basically leg cross shackles, a body bind and arm binds across a piece of plywood using your head as a prop. Yes my slave owner was a dick.
With mods its a great game, without its mediocre at best. The modding really lets you tailor something of a personal experience and it really carries the otherwise weak story and tame experience in general.
Overrated for sure. All those 10/10s are unwarranted.
Only overated by mentally 13 yr old Sup Forums contrarians who can only judge a game by the amount of t&a it has
>people are actually doubting that skyrim was shit
>this is the state of nu-Sup Forums
