How can people unironically play mobilegames and even worse, spend money for them? You always, ALWAYS feel cockblocked in one way or another even when spending money. There will always be shit thats walled behind money, heavy grinding or waiting and there will always be new content thats also locked behind gacha (=spending money or not getting it). Im astounded that people can play a game thats literally unfinished and made with addiction in mind. There will never be a point where you have the full game even after spending thousands of bucks. You want your favorite character? Well, spend 100+ bucks or cope with the fact that you wont get it. To make things worse, this money is utterly and completly wasted once the game gets dropped and the servers shut down. Its the ultimate scam.

FE:H is not very good. Phantom of the Kill is an older mobile games and better in every way.
Also I've played loads of mobile games for dozens if not hundreds of hours and I've never spent a single penny.
Also not every mobile game is a gacha waifu simulator.
It'd be like me complaining that all PC games are shooters. Dig a little deeper.
i play them at work and i never spend money on them. I know i can emulate games on my phone but i dont like the controls.
>To make things worse, this money is utterly and completly wasted once the game gets dropped and the servers shut down. Its the ultimate scam.
It's a good thing that has never happened with PC games huh
I play Brave Exvius and the moneygrabbing in this game is ridiculous. Its a shame as well because the game itself is outstanding. Good soundtrack, good characters (I quite like Rain as an MC), REALLY good battlesystem and challenging, deep battles on ELT difficulty. It just sucks that Gumi is so blatantly ripping of paying customers with their horrid droprate (1. fucking. percent. droprate for rainbow units). Also the TMR system is fucking bullshit. Its a HUGE grind and you basically have to rely on macroing all day if you want to get proper gear.
The game could be so fucking good if it werent for the f2p mobilegame system integrated in it.
FEH is better than Echoes
Echoes maps/combat system/dungeon crawling is fucking awful FEH is better game.
They're good to tell apart the braindead retards around you, so you never associate with them
>Also not every mobile game is a gacha waifu simulator.
Do you have even a single fact to back that up?
It's kinda odd that you point out FEH because it's one of the most generous of the broad audience mobile games. Don't get me started on the shitfest that is Record Keeper, or something like Exvius where you just wanna smash your phone sometimes.
The example you have has videos of people using FREE 3* and 4* version of characters to clear some of the hardest content in the game. When I say free I mean characters you don't get via orbs. I mean characters you get from starting the game and beating character quests that cycle.
I play FEH like 10 minutes a day and don't spend money on it. No reason to try and play it like a full game but it's a nice little distraction when you have a little free time.
>How can people unironically play mobilegames and even worse, spend money for them?
I enjoy things
>it's one of the most generous of the broad audience mobile games
Phantom of the Kill gives away 240 stamina energy meme units everyday
This
What are the rates like in it?
One of the biggest draws to FEH is that you'll be hard pressed to have an utterly useless pull, with the 5* Focus rate and Skill Inheriting.
I really only play FEH and I don't even spend money on it. It's basically the fanservice game for the entirety of FE since every character no matter how minor and obscure will be able to get in FEH. I just want to use my favorite characters.
Are you telling me the fun I am having with FEH is just imaginary and not real?
Also nobody forces you to spend money.
Phantom of the who?
What kind of obscure jap only weebshit is this?
But I haven't spent a dime on FEH and I have more fun playing it than anything else these days
>What are the rates like in it?
No idea, but some of the very best units (Swimsuit Gridarvol) in the game are free to play. You get them just by logging in a few days in a row during their events and doing basic everyday missions. They're also farmable.
You also get two free premium summons everyday, and can get up to 6* units from the friend points summon.
Because the game doesn't have the brand name power of Nintendo and Fire Emblem it just constantly throws free shit your way to have more people play it.
Does Sup Forums like dress up gatcha games? You can make cute outfits.
Questionable mental states, usually.
Hard to tell exactly what. We need a full scientific thesis on this shit.
It's a tactical RPG, just like Fire Emblem, and it's been available in English for a little over a year now. It's published by Gumi.
It also had crossover events with the Japanese op group Dempagumi and the Madoka anime... so yes it is weebshit but it is extremely good weebshit as well as being an excellent game.
You pretty much described how I feel about fire emblem heroes, its almost like people can have different opinions about the same thing.
Heroes throws free orbs at you daily. Plus tons of events where you can work your way to getting good 4star and 5star characters. Sometimes there even just given out like Narcian or the Brave heroes both extremely recently. And a free summon on each banner.
You really don't need to spend money on this game
oh this is where that sideboob girl is from
Exactly, no one needs to spend any money on most games.
If I really needed to play as Broly or something from the Dragon Ball Universe, as an example, then I'd play one of countless games where he's playable instead of throwing money at the gacha, or even make my own character in Xenoverse.
Sup Forums just likes to shitpost about normies mobile games cancer reeeeee while paying for CS:GO and TF2 crates.
I play them because I do nothing else on the bus except read news and blogs.
I spend money on them because I live frugally and the thrill of gambling is too addicting.
FEH is probably the best mobage out there aside from Japshit I can't read.
>and can get up to 6* units from the friend points summon.
>up to 6*
Does this imply there are even higher rarities? Because I'm done palying those kinds of powercreep games. I remember playing Fantasica when it had 5* max units. When I quit they had 10*s.
It's fun.
>play FFBE
>pull
>blue
>blue
>blue
>blue
>blue
>gold
>blue
>blue
>blue
>blue
>200 pulls later
>rainbow, its some outdated shit unit
Fuck this game.
>implying
The dungeon crawling was great and the combat system was fine. Have fun with not getting a character after spending all your currency though.
>Have fun with not getting a character after spending all your currency though.
That doesn't happen though. FEH is the most generous mobage.
It's literally impossible to not get a character but nice try user
>How can people unironically play mobilegames
Because just like anything else it's a form of entertainment that they enjoy. This applies to just about anything you do that others wonder why you even do it, like living.
>even worse, spend money for them?
Aside from one being a compulsive spender/buyer. If you like something you'll throw money at it regardless of how stupid it is supporting such a system.
I said that about XBL when it was introduced and people supported it and now it's the norm. Same shit with micro-transactions/DLC post Expansions.
Then I'm sure all those complaints of people spending 300+ rolls and getting cockblocked by some other garbage character isn't true then.
False, it's gacha.
Sakura!!!!!
Not him, but there are more generous ones out there. I like FEH the most though.
I got 5 fucking oscars and no neph to show for it.
>he takes the OSCARD meme seriously
Maybe they shouldn't have been rolling specifically for a waifu unit? They still got an amazing unit. Stop talking about things you know nothing about.
You still are garunteed a character no matter what, so what if it's not the one you wanted that's the risk and it's not like they lie to you about that.
you should at least have a general understanding of what you're shitting on whenever you decide to join a shitposting circle jerk user.
I fucking hate FEH. All I get is trash 5 stars. Then when I get good ones, they have shitty IVs. I don't even spend money on this shit and it pisses the fuck out of me.
>I don't know what gacha is
>Not him, but there are more generous ones out there
Surely you would name them then?
That's what "not getting the character you want after spending all your shit" is.
>lol you get this other one he's useful
But that's not what you were rolling for.
Puzzle and Dragons
Bleach Brave Souls
The aforementioned Phantom of the Kill the other guy mentioned
>Have fun with not getting a character after spending
Why did you move the goalposts?
>Sup Forums defends gachashit now over real games
How did this happen
Free gambling bro
This stuff has worth BECAUSE its blocked off.
I've played aroun 4-5 different gacha games and I haven't spend a penny of any of them, but I've still gotten a lot of enjoyment out of it. Gotten lucky in many instances, the feeling of pay-off is always great.
I do agree on the "spending money" bit though, unless you're someone who truly invests tons of time into these games. I've actually thought about it sometimes but prices in the west are so laughably consumer-unfriendly that I never bothered, and I'm better off without it.
Maybe you should go play the game that character is from if you want to be guarunteed to get it that's not how this game works.
Why are you defending the video game equivalent of people that lose there houses to gambling? I've been to the casino, I didn't lose my house or my car, I know how to quit when ahead or know when to call it a lost day and accept that. Why should all casinos be shut down cause some retards can't control themselves? It's like making sex illegal because people rape sometimes
PAD definitely isn't more generous, at least not when I last played a year ago.
>Brave Souls
Admittedly never played it: elaborate?
>PoK
I got a few hours in before I uninstalled. I don't see how it's more generous? The rates on the FP gacha re ass.
You're the only one moving the goalposts. You aren't getting the character after spending it all. You want to argue about misinterpreted semantics now? Good for you.
Rainbow units have a 3% droprate now tho.
>Then I'm sure all those complaints of people spending 300+ rolls and getting cockblocked by some other garbage character isn't true then.
Not the guy you replied to. But no those cases are still true. But interestingly enough as far as mobage are concerned, in heroes those people were really just unlucky. As opposed to being part of the expected majority.
Why are you defending the equivalent of locking content behind RNG that requires luck to access content, or bruteforcing it with money?
>You always, ALWAYS feel cockblocked in one way or another even when spending money
As opposed to regular games, where you need to spend money upfront?
>You're the only one moving the goalposts.
You literally changed the wording between your posts though.
There's no shame in admitting you fucked up, friendo.
Its not. In Japan ist 3%, yeah, but global still has 1% droprate and people are bitching because of this for months now. After the Nier banner people started to realize what a bunch of greedy jews Gumi is.
You can beat games like F/GO entirely with free units.
It'll change eventually. Alternatively just play the JP version.
Because there's absolutely no reason you would ever need to unlock every character in this game unless you're some ocd perfectionist in which case Id honestly suggest professional help because obsessing over getting 100% is unhealthy.
The game is about teambuilding and there are so many good units that can be used in different ways by inheriting skills and making different builds. Plus you can always just promote 3 and 4 star units you like to 5 star on your own. Why do you keep shit talking a game you know literally nothing about.
Because you seemed to have misconstrued what I said as "you don't get a unit at all." Not my fault you're a retard.
>PaD
Hands out monster points, tamadras, magic stones, etc like candy. Granted, the powercreep has gotten pretty bad, so I don't find the game itself fun enough to play anymore, but it's still more "generous" as a game I think. Oh, also the pal point machine was changed so you can actually get useful things from it, though I don't remember when that was implemented.
>Bleach
Admittingly I'm not entirely sure how it is the rest of the time, since I only started recently, but it's been pretty good with generosity so far. For the anniversary event a little while ago, they were throwing a bunch of useful things at you, as well as allowing you to pick a 6* (highest rank) of your choice, with their skills and shit already grinded.
>PotK
Lots of strong, free units from playing the game naturally, and friend points are actually useful here.
@391554908
Nah, what you said was pretty clear. The fact that you 5 other people called you out on it is pretty telling.
You're boring though and don't get a free (You). You can have the last word if you want, kid.
>game features a game wheel for prizes, suggesting that there's an equal chance of getting each one
>there totally isn't
I don't care about hidden drop rates too much, but if you're gonna give a GRAPHICAL REPRESENTATION. JUST.
>>Have fun with not getting a character after spending all your currency though.
>That doesn't happen though. FEH is the most generous mobage
Maybe you shouldve checked your post before outing yourself as never playing the game
>it's fine because only an OCD autist would want access to all the content without locking it behind RNG with a paid option "just in case"
Seek help.
>just give me everything for free I don't want to have to play the game to unlock things
Just go watch a lets play user seems more your speed
Nah it stops at 6*, 5* was the max for most of the year since it was released and older 5* were upgraded to 6*
>I got a few hours in before I uninstalled. I don't see how it's more generous? The rates on the FP gacha re ass.
You get two free premium pulls a day, premium units up to 6* in the friend points banner, and up to 240 free stamina a day.
Sure. You're a fucking idiot who supports gacha and thinks that it's ok to have a character locked behind luck and getting screwed out of it because another unit was there.
>all these people talking about free units like it's a plus
I sure love getting value-less trash that anyone else has
God Fantastica gave me the fucking biggest boner. But holy fuck was that grind unreal.
There is a considerable difference between making content unlockable in a game by playing it, like bonus levels or secret characters that require playing a certain way, to locking content behind rolling a slot machine and praying that you don't get screwed.
lol and what sort of "value" do your other units have to you? They're just pictures user. They only have as much value as you're willing to give them, which sounds like you're only willingly give it to the most contrarian units
Fantasica was my first mobage, but I eventually learned that it was catered to whales. You literally can't win unless you play 24/7 or dropped thousands a month.
Didnt read your whole conversation, but this. Its a fucking annoying system.
>you can build a party with all your favorit units, guys!
>by the way, all fan favorites are some special super rare units with a 1% droprate, but dont worry, this character you dont like and everyone hates is just as good and easier to get ;^)
It's a gacha game. The goal is to get rare shit. No one gives a fuck about your 5* decked out Felicia that every other retarded waifufag has.
I've been playing Starlight Stage for a while now and I haven't had to spend even a dime on it. All songs are free, too, which is great.
Why can't there be both? Like if you don't like it no one's forcing you. I have no problem with how FEH handles it. I'd much prefer this to being literally forced to buy new characters like most real games, which is already on top of a full game price. Its hilarious to me you think character unlocks still exist. Maybe the final boss in a fighting game but other than that youre stuck to a paywall. This is a free game where you're completely given the option to spend money of you like it enough to.
People always go
>paying for pictures
But all you're paying for with any other game is 3d models or pictures
You're asking to be given a whole game for free and have no profit go to the creators because you're so entitled to how you personally think a video game should be that you can't take your head out of your was and appreciate something actually good when it comes along.
Been playing this because i liked Naruto when it was still airing on Toonami
Plenty of multiplayer, dont have to worry about stamina since you can join other people and do missions without using your stamina, also a step-up guarenteed banner, and is ridiculously generous with giving players the premium currency (Pearls), i also like collecting since the art looks good and is usually based off of source material poses.
Not a cent spent, and have all the top tier units along with the Anniversary released units.
PAD is a great concept as a game but I wouldn't say it's generous.
For me one of the biggest flaws is how fusing two completely identical units doesn't guarantee a skill up. No other gacha game does that. You fuse two of the same units together you always get a skill up.
I also hate how evolution material takes up box space shared with your characters and how it's always a big mystery as to where you're supposed evolution material. There ought to be a permanent quest where on one level it's all dragon-seed/flower/fruit material, and the next level is those -lit ghosts and the next level is whatever else, etc.
I also never have any monster points to buy said material, all of the farmable monsters are worth one point so it'll take me a million years to buy anything unless I sell whatever few premium monsters I summoned.. I know that sometimes they do daily giveaways bu the last time I installed the game and played again it wasn't happening so there wasn't much incentive for me to keep playing.
It's a great concept as a game, I wish it was executed better.
>those people were really just unlucky.
Not that guy, but holy shit my man, 300 rolls and never getting the banner unit you want? On different banners? There are plenty, although apparently the minority if I take your word, who rarely get the unit the want, and rarer still, getting competitive characters on their roster.
Look, I'm having fun, I have developed my second-bests to an useful degree, but some bullshit cannot be shaken off with a "It's just bad luck".
Why do you care so much about what other people think of you in a single player PvE game user? Not liking a unit because it isn't rare is hilarious to me. Like spring xander is rare as fuck but Id never pick him over regular xander he'll I wouldn't take him over cecilia
>Maybe the final boss in a fighting game
Not even. Capcom and Arcsys have started making them DLC. This is the future we're in.
People that get droughts like that generally already have tons of good units anyways. Like yeah I've complained on /vg/ about blowing 150 orbs and not getting any crimeans but I'm already decked out anyways lol
Gives me something to do while I wait between classes because I'm either too autistic or not autistic enough to play my 3DS in public. I won't spend money on it though.
I can't speak for all units for all the games, but a lot of times the units are only available during seasonal events or even often one-time events. So not everyone has all of them unless they've been playing everyday on the same account since day one.
With PotK, arguably the best unit in the game is F2P.
Been playing this, can confirm that pretty much every banner has a step-up that guarentees you a banner card at the end, while guarenteeing you featured units in between the steps. I havent seen shit like this in awhile, and i've been through dozens of gacha games.
I'm not asking to be given a whole game for free, I'd be perfectly fine with them charging for the game itself minus the gacha cancer that you love so much.
>it's hilarious to me that you think character unlocks still exist
Hilarious? I think it's rather pathetic and sad that being it's expected that games will be sold without all the content and charged extra later instead of unlockable items from doing things like speedrunning the campaign or getting a certain amount of wins. I guess you've grown used to that though considering you're defending gacha though. Idk man, have fun with rolling your slots and such.
5% rates are very generous, probably the most generous in any gacha game ever.
It does happen that you don't get the unit you want, but on average within 100 orbs you should especially with how the summon system works.
Thanks. I lose absoultly nothing from doing it.
>I'd be perfectly fine with them charging for the game itself minus the gacha cancer that you love so much.
Reminder that Mario Run did this, but every single review slammed it for not just making the game free but with microtransacations.
So play a console fire emblem then?
>it's expected that games will be sold without all the content and charged extra later
>it's expected that games will be sold
These games are free user.
PC and console is where publishers are selling-full price game with DLC as well as crates.
>You're asking to be given a whole game for free and have no profit go to the creators
Judging by the unhealthy amount of +7 - +10 5* on Tier 20 Arena, you're looking at $500 AT LEAST for the top 20% that stay in the tier. Which is to say, ~3000 players.
That's $1.500.000 gross income, at least. Now, of all the literal millions playing it, it is safe to say 20% have spent on average $10, and I'm driving the price way fucking low. Take a quarter million. that's $2,500,000.
You can easily say this game has, at the bare barrel-scraping minimum, generated 4 million USD, for drawings.
The quoted argument is complete fucking bullshit for being one. He can be entitled, but of fucking course he can, if it were the only reason to put them under a paywall and randomized.
Unfortunately for him, it's not the only reason. Still hate that though.
Yeah but that was separate from the original argument about slots, that was brought in by his comparison to how full price modern games are and how they force you to buy new characters rather than having them as unlocks, and how he found that hilarious.
>How can people unironically play mobilegames and even worse, spend money for them?
Because I feel like it.
I like the f/sn series even after it became a wormslut whore cashgrab and I'll never spend a cent on it.
You get a 5* guarantee, not your desired unit guarantee. It's the difference between a Lucius and a Bridelia, between a Camilla and an Amelia, or between a Grey and a Celica (Grey's quite fine, though, just not Celica-fine)
Those coins might do something about that, though. Or not, but the good thing is that they're adding a fuckload of features to keep you on it.
Alright, have a cool day then.
I guess we've circled back around then?
SMR is offered basically as a shareware type game from what I know, much like the rest of nintendo's "F2S" games. Not ideal but having a buyout option to buy it outright is nice. Shame that people would rather have something like the latter thing you outlined.
The chance of getting the unit on the banner is like 80% IIRC so it's very good chances. The problem only comes up when there are two same coloured units on the banner in which case the pity rate might fuck you over.
It's still a very good system though. Much better than stuff like F/GO where 5*s are divided into items and characters.
