To all Sup Forums browsers, I apologize for all the shitposting my fellow Larian bros have been doing. We did not mean to cause concern. We just wanted to share our epic experience with a really amusing game. We did not mean to imply that it will be a better game than Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire, developed by Obsidian. We accept that it will forever be below that impossibly high standard. *Humbly gets down on his knees and bows his head* Please forgive us.

I forgive you. Just make sure it doesn't happen again, Larianigger. Remember, you fags stay at the back of the bus.

Don't worry about it
We understand most of you have the mental acuity of a ten year old

Buy 3 copies of Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire and it balances out

*Forgives Larian friend wordlessly*

It's ok. Enjoy your mediocre RPG, friend.

Now I feel bad for shit talking Divinity 2

Don't.

Thank you so much!

Anyone else seen this? This is the actual promotional art for Deadfire.

They literally stole the intro sequence from Original Sin 2 and used it as their own promo art. Is there any idea Obsidian won't steal from Larian?

It's a real bad game.

It's cool, just remember your place next time.

Is divinity actually good? Would I need to play the first original sin to understand the story? How important is co-op?

Yes
No
Not really important

The combat is fun. The writing is really bad. I preferred the first one. Didn't feel as big a mess. This still needs a lot of patches.

I didn't play the first one but I'm having a blast with this one.

IT's legit very fun, and the writing / story is much better than Sup Forums tard pretend it to be.
You dont need to play the first, there are a few references and characters, but you dont eally give a fuck, 2 takes place 1000 years after 1.
Coop is trash unless you can play with a bro tier friend taht wont rush everywhere and trigger events left and right or get impatient when you take your time talking to pnjs etc

#NotAllLarianiggers

The promotional image for PoE 2 came out well before Original Sin had the ship stage in Early Access

Original Sin 2 is good and Deadfire is gonna be even better. It's a good time to be a CRPG fan.

It's a massive, strange and very ambitious game, that's also completely busted and broken. The combat is a giant cluster-fuck of chaos as balance is pretty much non-existent. To the point where literally every fight can be cheesed in twenty different ways as long as you're willing to get creative enough.
What came as a surprise to me is how much of a loot grinding game this is, it's almost on par with Diablo, you'll be picking up items constantly and replacing weapons every level or two.
If that sounds like a type of game you'd enjoy - go for it.

pillar babies btfo

This will be the beginning of a beautiful friendship

The itemization of this game sucks balls

The combat is too slow and tedious from act 2 onwards

>Random loot
>Scaled to your level
Shit

Third person dialogue is annoying.
Combat system is casualized from the first game.
New initiative system is trash.

>Kill Alexander
>Eat his entrails
>Lol nevermind he's still alive :^)
>Ifan doesn't give a fucking shit
Great shit, Larian

Best game I've played in about a decade or so

Also, the journal is bugged beyond belief. This game feels like it still needs a lot more time on Early Access.

I'm sorry

The story of this game is so shitty. The last battle is horrid. Larian hasn't learned anything.

Larianiggers v Obsidiots
This is a real purse swinger of a fight.

The initiative is hardcoded into the game and can't even be modded, apparently.

This game has too much powercreep. Everything powers up to a ridiculous scale at every level.

There's fire everywhere. Too much environment shit and nearly all of it is useless and just an annoyance because of magic armor.

Fights in the late game take hours to finish. Was it really that hard to have a speed up button? Even Tyranny did this.

Everything is level gated to the extreme.

The way gating works, it feels like you're playing a shitty korean MMO

The enemies blatantly cheat and know everything about characters beforehand. Apparently they're all loremasters. Also, I'm positive they just straight up ignore ability cooldowns.

Source spells are useless when you take into account all the hoops you have to jump through to use them.

Every fight ever is an ambush where enemies appear out of thin air. This got old real fast. I refuse to believe people don't savescum the shit out of these, especially if they're playing in Tactician.

This game is just very poorly designed and feels like it was built by a team that didn't have that much experience with the first one or had no idea what made it fun.

Oh, fuck no! Really? I hated that in Dragon Age 2.

>Setting is uninteresting and too far out there, making it hard to care about whatever is happening
>Writing is almost worse than Original Sin 1's, but at least it takes itself a bit more seriously this time around
>Third person actions with asterisks is gay
>Too much stat bloat on every corner of this game
>Journal is really buggy

>Weapon level too high: -20%
Trash design

Fane, Lohse and fucking Sebille are awful characters that are below Bioware tier.

Divinity became a game of direct damage. CC is useless because of armor and it's also clearly weaker than it used to be. Summoning is broken. Just damage, damage, damage. That's how this game works. It's a damage race all the way through.

40% of your time is spent micromanaging your inventory and another 20% is spent watching your enemies doing shit and thinking about their moves

You-Me-You-Me Banner Saga style order makes this game unbearable.

They put the tabs on the top for a reason. The only people micro managing their inventory beyond...

>Sort by: Type

Are absolute autists

By the way, Ifan was throwing himself at me despite the fact I didn't even remotely hint being gay. Feels like I'm playing Bioware sometimes with this shit.

Also, there are like 5 gay couples next to each other in Arx

>Enemy is ten meters below me
>Hits me with a sword strike

AI acts retarded multiple times for no reason, often ignoring shit like ruptured tendons and attacks of opportunity only to hilariously kill themselves in the same turn
There are tons of useless attributes
Armor system and initiative are trash

>people arguing over a Larian game

Calm down. Larian's Divinity franchise has always been technically mediocre and intentionally silly. Original Sin series is no different. All of them do share a certain charm though, but it's not a second coming of Jesus Christ. Far from it.

Instead of wasting your time and energy trying to justify its potential, why don't you just go and have fun with it? I'm sure that's what Larian would have wanted. You know it's not good enough to lose your shit for its sake.

And those who are on a holy crusade to bash this fucker of a game down, never give up trying. I'm sure someone, somewhere will realize how shitty his taste in video game is.

The UI is a fucking mess

The studio logo tells you everything you need to know about the writing, the combat is really fun, also playing as an outlaw is the most fun, scam and steal shit, lie to people, kill NPC after you're done with an area to get times back.
Also it has arguably the best archers and warriors of this kind of games.

Story is shit. Itemization is shit. Most quests are meaningless. Writing is Larian at its worst. I'm really glad I didn't spend a cent on this game.

>have Ifan be my pack mule
>end of chapter one
>got to get him again
>looking for a lakey? I go alone
>the fuck?
>won't let me recruit him
>"whatever I'll get him later"
>here comes the hammer!
>Ifan died heroically while holding your valuables
I almost punch the screen. any idea why that happened?

>Writing is Larian at its worst.

Honestly. Show me a Larian game which has better writing. They're all equally as bad.

Divine Divinity 2

Do you mean Beyond Divinity or Divinity 2: Ego Draconis?

Two origin characters, or three if you're not playing one, will always die if you don't have them in your party at that point of the game.
