Black Flag is garbage. A decent concept ruined by tailing and eavesdropping galore, terrible modern segments, and "muh Sage".

Rogue is superior, even if it's shorter and still has those slow, first-person modern segments

I can tell right now that Origins will suffer from numerous problems. The question is if most people will be able to overlook them.

I'd say everything is worth playing except Syndicate and maybe 3. Only play 3 if you like the setting a lot. Syndicate is legitimately one of the worst games of 2015, and that's coming from a big AssCreed fan.

There's only so much shit I can swallow.
The devs don't have a clue what they're doing. It took them this long to even try and fix the trash combat and the stealth was nonexistant.. In Syndicate they added dumb shit like that hookshot that lets you climb buildings really fast, which directly contradicts the parkour/climbing mechanic they established. Climbing is part of the fun and made you try to figure out how to climb up, but then they added something that made climbing braindead. Brilliant.

It's easier to list what isn't.

The worst parts of BF was whenever it tried to be an asscreed game, yes. It was at its best as an arcadey pirate action game with great water and weather effects.

It didn't have to be this way, either. Just drop the Sage plotline and the modern segments, ditch the tailing bullshit, and expand/detail the map a little more.

AC 1 is decent
AC 2 and Brotherhood are great
AC Revelations is decent
AC 3 would be good if it weren't for the shit story and main character, the gameplay is pretty fun and the environments are great
AC 4 is a good pirate game, story is ass and has way too many eavesdropping/tailing missions
AC Rogue is like AC 3 but with a better MC and slightly better story
AC Unity could've been good if it weren't for the halfassed RPG elements Ubisoft decided to hamfist in and if it weren't for the terrible launch
AC Syndicate is a more polished version of AC Unity but the animations can be a bit wonky

Wrong. Syndicate is a step down from Unity in every way, except maybe the murder mysteries.

speaking as someone who actually liked the desmond plot and modern day conspiracy shit before they threw it away in 3, BF's modern day was a massive joke. You were literally an iPad on legs. The only enjoyable thing about it was the concept of Ubisoft actually being a part of the evil machine and you playing as an employee and the AC games themselves being more illuminati propaganda.

ezio trilogy is about as good as it gets.
1 is not bad on pc since they added in some extra types of side missions.
4 is cool if you like the sailing stuff but its marred by so many tailing missions. if you don't mind that though and just want some more sailing rogue is fun too.
3 just has such a shitty story and started the wilderness collecthon shit to craft upgrades.
unity was two steps forward and 40 miles sideways; nice interiors, some nice combat advancements but fuck the rest of the game is 100% forgettable mediocre

pretty much. starting with ass creed 3 ubishit farmed parts of the game out to their various sweatshops who had no idea what the other studios were doing and sent their work back to montreal who just mashed it all together and then demanded more additions to bolt on. one branch of ubi did the homestead, one branch did the sailing, one branch did the wilderness, etc. ubi singapore did the sailing shit and got really good at it. we can probably assume 4 started as a pure sailing game that had ass creed shit bolted on at the eleventh hour. they finally made a non ass creed sailing game called skull and bones that comes out next year so if you love black flag you might want to follow that, but it will probably shit anyways.

It's basically a blowpipe. Looks better and has a grenade launcher attachment, though. And yeah, the mc has two matching pistols.

Unity is maybe worth $10 just to explore the setting. The game is hands-down one of the most beautiful games on PC currently and Paris is very immersive and detailed. The combat is more fun that other games imo but beware of the glitches

That is for about 3-4 missions. Half of the missions are follows:

>Someone else "No, lets faff about and accomplish nothing."
>Edward "ok"
>tail for 5 minutes
>nothing concerning Edward is accomplished
>2 missions later said person does something stupid and dies

Memes aside, how's Freedom Cry and the Liberation port? I unironically enjoy the games (played through 4, all without dlc) and I'm for sure buying Unity, Syndicate, and Rogue

I had more fun with Freedom Cry than AC IV

Liberation is great - the only AC to use an actual disguise/persona system, has an option to wear the conspicuous-ass Assassin hood or not, and features some unique settings.

Almost everything about the game was fantastic. One of the first games that felt truly next gen

Freedom Cry is nice, Adwalé is surprisingly good as a main character, although the main mission is short and there isn't much world to dick around in as with AC4
Liberation is a half-assed mess, they tried to implement some cool new mechanics but the result is an aborted turd of a "game", the worst asscreed by far imo

I really liked how they did the assasinations mission in unity and Syndicate because how they reminded me of the mission you had to do in this game to get the target. Gets me hope in the next title

2 is one of my favorite games of all time. Comfiest game ever IMO.

Assassin's Creed 3 is a fucking war crime. I paid full price for it. I still cringe thinking about it. That game is one of my triggers. I hate it with every nanoangstrom of the 387.44 millions miles of printed circuits in wafer-thin layers that fill my complex. I swore off the franchise forever after that one.
