So I'm probably gonna grab a switch in the next day. Any suggestions for games or accesories that i should grab?
Switch
Rubber covers to place over the joycon joysticks. They can wear down quickly without them
Thanks ill look into that. Ive heard that a screen protector is pretty much necessary, that true?
get sonic mania on the e shop. Vidya Kino.
pre-order mario odyssey
get splatoon 2, pokken or arms for online multiplayer. You can try out Bomberman R, but will probably get your ass kicked by this dude named "Nathan"
if you want an RPG, there's I Am Setsuna and Disgaea 5.
If you have an extra 60 bucks left over, buy Sonic Mania, Shantae Half Genie Hero and Snipperclips (if you have a friend to play with).
There's also smaller titles like Blaster Master Zero and Kamiko that might be worth checking out just to pad out your library.
A hori or a tempered glass screen protector. That's really the only thing that you need.
I personally got a Pro Controller and I love mine. But it really isn't necessary. And it's not the best controller but it's pretty good. If you ever play couch multiplayer it might be worth it just to have a choice in controls though.
Don't forget the Octopath Traveler demo. It's free onthe eshop.
Breath of the Wild is a given unless you've already played it on the Wii U or whatever. Yes it's not perfect but it's a truly spectacular game regardless.
Splatoon 2 is absolutely amazing. Don't know if you're into shooters but the way it handles movement, stealth, territory control, in conjunction with the game objectives and opposing teams. Is quite splendid indeed.
And on the topic of couch multiplayer, bomberman is a good couch multiplayer game if you're into that kind of thing.
Same goes for Puyo Puyo Tetris. Though this one is also fun online.
Mario+Rabbids Kingdom Battle mayhave Rabbids in it, but it's actually a fun XCOM like game that has some movement options that sets it apart.
But you might also want to check out Gunvolt Burst. Honestly the best Megaman game I've played in a long time.
No. I've had it since launch and not a single scratch. I clean it with a screen cleaner occasionally and microfiber cloth.
I would advise getting the pro controller, carrying case, breath of the wild, mario kart 8 deluxe, splatoon 2, mario+rabbids, sonic mania is great for portability, fast rmx for racing.
Avoid Snake Pass/ Lego Worlds
Get a pro controller, you'll thank me later.
But not that wired shit. That doesn't have NFC or Gyro controls.
Yeah i was thinking of grabbing splatoon 2 with it. Arms looks interesting i gotta say so i might give it a go.
Was curious about mraio and rabbids so ill give it a look thanks.
Also I was on the fence about the pro controller but probably gonna grab one now
Arms only flaw I think is a lack of a real immersive single player mode. In that respect, Splatoon 2 has it beat. But one problem both games have is that they are more optimized for the home experience because they're so online focused and there's little else to do with the games without a stable internet connection and multiple friends with a Switch and the same games.
If you're looking to play it on the go a lot, be sure to get games that are easy to play in handheld mode and which don't use up too much of your battery. That's where some of the cheaper e-shop stuff comes in handy.
Honestly, I can speak for anyone else, but I've been pretty content with the joycon "puppy" grip, but maybe I just have tiny hands.
I love playing ARMS with my buddies whenever they're over. It's a great game to play together.
The online for ARMS is actually pretty great too. With a fun lobby system that changes up the pace of things with various modes and a quick to action ranked mode that keeps things simple. But when I am by myself I just tend to end up playing Splatoon instead. Though that doesn't mean that ARMS is by any means bad online, I just really love Splatoon. Whenever I do have visitors though, ARMS tend to come up.
You might like it. You might not. If you don't like fighting games I wouldn't recommend it. Yes it might be quite different from your conventional fighter but it still plays surprisingly similar to them and plays to the same elements of managing spacing, poking with parrying, blocking, dodging, and attacking.
It gets surprisingly intense. The AI is quite merciless too.
Top tier shilling. You guys should work for Nintendo id you don't already.
I would recommend a Pro Controller, for at home play, the controller is pretty comfy
Get a case for on the go, obvious necessity for the system. The Nintendo one for when it's in portable mode is decent enough for me, your needs may vary
As for games I would recommend
Zelda Breath of the Wild
Mario + Rappids
Pokken Tournament
Splatoon 2
Puyo Puyo Tetris
Sonic Mania
Puzzle Adventure Blockle (cheap fun game that seems to be underrated)
Master Blaster Zero
Mighty Gunvolt Burst (This is objectively what Mighty no 9 should have been)
Golf Story is coming out this Thursday
I recommend an SFC30 if you're keen on certain eShop games.
It's perfect for d-pad centric games, as long as they don't require ZL or ZR. D-pad actually emulates the left stick so more games are playable with it than you think.
I mostly recommend it because the Switch Pro Controller's d-pad is ass. Playing Tetris on it is a nightmare because you'll constantly do accidental hard drops.
Games I have that it's perfect for are:
>Pokkén Tournament DX
>Steamworld Dig 2
>Sonic Mania
>Puyo Puyo Tetris
>Might Gunvolt Burst
>Wonder Boy The Dragon's Trap
Games that actually work with caveats:
>Mario Kart 8 (turning is a little imprecise)
>Blaster Master Zero (one thing requires ZL/ZR later in the game, the 3DS version worked around this but not the Switch version)
>Cave Story + (ZL/ZR has a new strafe action, but it's not essential)
It's not out yet but download the demo for octopath travellers
Essential Games: Zelda, Splatoon 2, Mario + Rabbids, thumper, shovel knight
Also work checking out: Mario Kart, Arms, SnipperClips, pokken, sonic mania, slime-San
Why avoid Snake Pass? I played through it 100% and enjoyed it a lot.
It's not because of that fucking icon update is it?
