Only the first shot goes where the crossair is, the rest randomly scatter with no pattern or anything.

You said building things make it RNG, and recoil making the crosshair bloom is common in a lot of guns. Different guns are suited for different ranges, and going full auto will rack up recoil very quickly.

The number of resources is not random, and building is never that big of a deal anyway. You can harvest material from literally anything in the game world that isn't grass.
