Sylux is an ex-federation scientist that was forced to undergo dangerous scientific tests and experiments the Galactic Federation was preforming in an attempt to replicate and eventually militarize Samus' Chozo Power Suit, without her knowlege.
While trying to reverse engineer the power suits ability to materialize at the wearers will, the experiment went horribly wrong, fusing Doctor Sylux and the prototype power suit into one being. Sylux's body is not trapped inside the suit, but instead his soul, mind, and consciousness is. He can no longer sleep, eat, breathe, or even feel touch.
From this point forward he swore vengeance against the Galactic Federation, and as an extent, Samus, who he assumed was fully aware of the situation, but despised her for continuing to work with the Federation anyway.
Jumpcut to post-fusion. Sylux, being a bounty hunter, notices a bounty on the galaxy-known Samus Aran on account of grand arson against the Federation. He decides to track her down and confront her before the Federation, or worse, another bounty hunter can.
Will he team up with his nemesis to take down the corrupt government once and for all? Or will he hunt her down to cash the bounty for himself?

More graphix, more helmet HUD
No linearity

TUUUUBE THREAD
IIRC eating yourself out/Sucking your own dick feels like tickling yourself, there is no pleasure in doing so
Limited story cut scenes and not overly linear.
I hope they make a decent number of new power ups, after this many games the standard Morph ball > Missile > Soup Missile > Varia > Grav etc. chain gets a bit stale.
no friendly NPCs or voice acting
world has variety, realism is not necessary
basically just make MP1 again
I'd like to see it take more from 1 and 2 than from 3. I feel like Corruption focused too much on combat and level design suffered for it.
Make it a sequel to Metroid Prime 1 instead of Prime 3
I have some good news for you boys

Monster girl metroids
It made them a gorillian dollars with Breath of the Wild. They may ACTUALLY do it with Prime 4.
Get ready for some story where Sammy's ship is shot down and she needs to spend 20 hours in her tattered zero suit climbing mountainsa and collecting power armor pieces from puzzle filled chozo shrines.
And then the Power Armor is only useful in actual dungeons or when you unlock ALL the shrines because fuck you faggot go loot some more Boku no Pico clubs.
Inspired by Dark Souls
look at the background canyons, valleys, and cities of metroid prime 2 and dont tell me it doesnt give you massive wanderlust
Other M gameplay
I want Prime HD while we wait for Prime 4.
Kinda how Nintendo did it with the 3DS and Zelda with having some team remaking old entries while they work on the new ones so the waiting time feels shorter.

Metroid has always been linear with the exception of the very first one.
Already confirmed that they are using Prime 1 as the main source of inspiration. I doubt they want to be super expirimental with Metroid for a while, for obvious reasons.
Yes, but I would like to wander with purpose and a goal in mind, thanks.
The metroid style of gameplay is already made to feel open world while also keeping you on a structured path. That is where metroid is best, the perfect inbetween of exploration and structure.
To remove all sort of structure from the game, you are basically removing the one thing it builds itself on. To remove the order of getting items means to essencially make Prime 4 not a metroidvania.
Non-linear =/= open world. Prime 4 should be like Super where non-linearity is built into the game. You can't really do anything in Prime 1-3 out of order. Also it should have advanced movement options like Titanfall 2/Doom. Basically Prime 4 should be like Super in 3D with some actual new abilities and not just rehash the same ones over again
>Collect space jump
>Space Jump across an open world
>Have to buy ship parts or find them, earn them for bounties or saving people
>Collect enough and get to pilot Samus' ship
I would buy it
Just a better Prime game.
Maps that go up and down instead of mostly just north and south.
Maps that are only slightly bigger, but more detailed and interactive. Things like creatures having their own ecosystems, ruins and labs that look like beings actually used and lived in them, tiny hidden details everywhere that if you took the time to really look at them you could discover some small story that took place there.
Labyrinthine, mazelike areas that take advantage of the fact that rooms don't have to constantly be loaded by doors and areas don't have to be constantly loaded by elevators.
New kinds of areas. Sure, give us the planet surface, ancient ruins, bleep bloop labs, abandoned ship, fire and water areas you always gotta have, but make plenty of stuff that will feel as cool and new as Phendrana Drifts, Sanctuary Fortress, and whatever that awesome Hydrocity Zone shit was in AM2R.
He may be onto something. I think it could work if they made it so that there are multiple paths through the game. Like if in Prime, right after you started on Tallon Overworld, you didn't have to either go to Chozo Ruins or sequence break, but instead you immediately have the choice to go to Ruins, Phendrana or Magmoor, but they'll be harder that way and end up leading to different areas.
So while normally you could start in Ruins and go until you get the Varia Suit, you could alternatively go straight to Magmoor and attempt some super tricky run to get a different power up early, or you could go get some upgrades in Phendrana that will allow you to have enough health to get far enough in Magmoor to do a major skip.
Super was still rather linear on your first playthrough for 95% of people (assuming you're playing blind). You can only really leave the sequence with good wall jumps/bomb jumps etc.
What would a metroid be like with the built in sequence breaks of Super but without the need of advanced tech? Something along the lines of rushing through a hot zone without Varia, lure an enemy for an ice platform before high jump etc.
>one interconnected planet
>a Treetop Village area of sorts
>completely new upgrades
>Sylux and Weavel
>Hunters-esque multiplayer
>she needs to spend 20 hours in her tattered zero suit
>Maps that go up and down instead of mostly just north and south.
As long as they update the map system. Primes map was a pain in regard to verticaly stacked rooms.
> I think it could work if they made it so that there are multiple paths through the game.
This could work if they include the normal hint system from 1&2, so casuals didn't get lost and quit or something. Which brings me to another point, the guidance should be no more than Prime 1 and should have a more obvious prompt to disable them. I didn't realize you could until half way through 1 and enjoyed myself a lot more when I did.
Also, if they're going to include something similar to the chozo rune treasure hunt, let them be found when you pass by a room normaly. Reward the player for finding them on their first way through instead of a long backtracking sequence to pad the last 20% of the game

so pretty much make it like prime 1's artifact hunt
Yeah but on 2nd playthrough and beyond you can go non-linear. In Prime you're going to get the same upgrades, abilities, routes, the same for every playthrough. It should be like other Metroidvanias with multiple different entrances and exits through the level. Basically full non-linearity.
Continuing:
I hate to ask for "updated" shooting mechanics, because the first thing everyone is gonna think of is grenades and melee and ZOOMER KILLED +240 and SWITCH TO THE KILLSTREAK VISOR TO CALL IN AN AIRSTRIKE, but first-person games have come a long way in the last ten years, both in terms of actual shooting and maneuvering (as many have said, Titanfall) and in terms of just how you can do interaction in first person.
So I'd like to see how much they could change in the shooting and the enemy behavior before it starts to get too skill based/action paced.
Can anyone think of some games from recent years that have taken direction from the Prime games? Obviously we have plenty of sidescroller Metroid-likes, but it seems like usually whenever someone refers to anything else as being like Metroid Prime they just mean in the art and atmosphere.
Shine spark in first person
In a perfect world Id love to see the happy medium between Prime 1 through 3. A rich alien world to explore, secrets and hidden short cuts, giant bosses, becoming an armored juggernaut and striking complete terror in my foes. Basically the exploration of Prime 1, ques from some of the boss fights and mechanics of Prime 2, and the combat focus and cinematics of Prime 3 sprinkled conservatively throughout. Not to mention the scan lore from all three cause that shits my jam
Nah, a lot of the artifacts need late game powerups to get. Most need you to back track.
Post the real one at least
I hope they keep the Prime look for her suit. I know it sounds like a no-brainer but you never know.
Less of Prime 3's bullshit mostly.
>tfw you may have to stare at that pea shooter in first person for an entire game or 3
Prime 3 is the best game in the series. Fight me.
Prime 3>Super>Fusion>Prime 1>Prime 2>ZM>AM2R>SR
>most linear Prime with cutscenes and voice acting everywhere
>best anything
Yeah nah. You're two steps above Metroid: Other M, and a step above Fusion.
This was the best thing in Prime 3
