PQube not allowing Let's Plays or Streams of Chaos;Child

PQube has stated that you are not allowed to stream past 2 hours of Chaos;Child and due to it being a VN so long that no one will ever want to Let's Play or Stream, It's likely they will never lift the Embargo.

Who wants to start a complaint with me? We can't let them pull a Steins;Gate 0 on us. Let's do what people did about Persona 5

We should NEVER allow anyone to but bans on streaming or let's plays.

We can not let any company or distributor get away with this sort of stuff. If we let even something like this go buy like Steins;Gate 0, they will continue time and time again to do this and more and more company's will do the same.

twitch and LPs are cancer

Go fuck yourself. You're not entitled to have everything you want in life for free.

This isn't what this is about. This is about people not being allowed to show anything about this game off. No streaming, no nothing. If you can't understand why that's a bad idea, then please don't get involved.

The hell are you on about? I have already pre-ordered the game and am gonna play it when it comes out.

How is this for free?

Can't say I care. I was going to get it anyways.

Like I said, this isn't the problem. They shouldn't prohibit things like this.

That's not PQube you fucking retard that's Mages

Except it's PQube who said they will likely not lift the ban. Besides, it's PQube who answered the question.

But it's a visual novel, there's nothing to show off besides the story.

What about Persona 5? Danganronpa?
They are pretty much all story and Danganronpa is even a VN, yet people got pissed at them because of the Embargo originally on them.

Mages makes the embargo

I figured that much.
But I still say we should try and do something about it like everyone did for P5. That was also Atlus Japan deciding that.

Yeah I wouldn't want people uploading my interactive anime slideshow for free either

Yet your fine with people uploading Persona 5 and Danganronpa and Muv-Luv Alternative and others? Why Chaos;Child any different when it already has an anime that spoiled everything?

How does the fact that people are upset make it any less justified? VNs are static experiences, one person isn't going to see something that someone else did not.

Same thing in DRv3, they don't want people streaming the first cast for obvious reasons

Except each choice you make changes things. And how are you gonna get an idea on what to expect out of a game if you can only stream 2 hours, when the game is over 50 hours long?

Plus, let us not forget that there has already Been an anime that spoiled everything.

Except, they lifted that after backlash. Now, you can stream it all as long as you say. "Hey, Spoilers are in this!"

Because VNs are Cutscenes: The Game. One derives the same enjoyment from walkthroughs on youtube as they do playing it.
LPs and streams are a flawed idea to begin with.

>Now, you can stream it all as long as you say. "Hey, Spoilers are in this!"
I can't wait for people to start making spoilers for their video thumbnail

>how are you gonna get an idea on what to expect out of a game if you can only stream 2 hours
Someone can tell you without explicitly showing the game.
>Plus, let us not forget that there has already Been an anime that spoiled everything.
Do you think it's entirely impossible to play this game without watching the anime first?

>"They should let streamers upload entire VNs for people to read for free!"
You do realize that these things are linear, contain no gameplay and are literally 100% spoiler in terms of what can be streamed, right?

Not particularly.
I watched Steins;Gate the Anime and an LP from NicoB, yet I still got the game and completed it all the way through.

Thanks for the anecdote.

Well soooorrrrrrrryyyyy that I want to watch someone play the game I'm playing so I can see there reactions to scenes along with mine.

Is that not enjoyable for others? I swear it was.

>tfw non-commentaries gameplay videos are becoming rare

Don't you think you're a bit too old to have somebody reading to you?

Is that what I said? Nope, I don't think so.
It works for many games. I play the game first then watch someone play too so I can see them react to the things I reacted too.

It works for many games, not just VN's. Please don't put works in my mouth.

*Words, blame auto correct.

Honestly, I feel like this is a valid concern for a visual novel. Considering there is no gameplay and hardly any agency from the player, it would be similar to streaming anime or whatever.

That would be true to most VN's, except Chaos;Child is...different.
It's a VN that would be VERY reaction worthy. Hell, I would be happy if people just showed there reactions to things like the deaths, the breakdowns and the reveals. Don't have to show anything else.

What can I say? I'm lonely and no one can play a VN with me, so watching someone play it as I play it is the best next thing.

>I play the game first then watch someone play too so I can see them react to the things I reacted too.
You can get the same effect by finding someone to talk to about the game and all it takes is a bit of effort on your part.

Not really. It doesn't feel as real if it isn't happening in real time.

Source? I can't find anything.

>phone using
>reddit surfng
>personell army gathering
>StreamLP watching
Have you tried not being a colossal underage faggot?

Somebody isn't going to lie about their experience with a VN.

Here, Someone asked about an Embargo on Chaos;Child.
Sorry, for one I'm not really a faggot, more bi. Second, I am not underaged, unlike some. Third, there's nothing wrong with Streams and LP's and I bet you are just saying this cause you think you look cool.

Well, in that case, I hope the game flops and people spoil it. They shouldn't have the authority to do that.

Not really what I meant.
I meant, It's more fun to watch someone react in real time like, recording yourself or perhaps playing the game together and chatting about it real time.

It's boring if you give them time to gather there thoughts rather then get there raw reaction.

I don't personally want it to flop, I just want people to start causing a commotion about it. If it flops, no other games from this franchise might ever come here, even though the franchise is very good.

It would be like Persona 5, it never flopped but people caused such a commotion that they slowly got rid of the streaming and LP ban.

Streaming visual novels is completely different from streaming normal video games.

Because it's not a game.

Streaming is cancer. This is a good thing. And if you're worried about showing it off with friends, remote play -> OBS is still a thing and is how we ended up with screenshots of P5.

Persona 5 and Danganronpa V3 are very VN like.

More so I find it boring to play games by myself, but no one I know irl is interested in VN's so...yeah. It would have to be someone playing it with me online, best way to do that is to play with a streamer so I can see how far they go and see there reactions as I follow them.

>a company letting people put the entirety of their game basically online and profit off of it
Are you a fucking idiot

Persona 5 has actual gameplay. You could say the same for danganronpa to an extent as well.
The point is that a visual novel like Chaos;Child has no gameplay, making its narrative the primary focus. Because of that, someone could watch a stream of a VN, experience its narrative, and not have to buy it to have the full experience.

I finished reading Chaos;Head the other day and really enjoyed it, though for different reasons as it went on. Now to wait for Noah and R;N Elite translations to never happen.

This. Game wasnt even that good anyways.

If a publisher or developer doesn't want people streaming their story heavy game, that's their choice. You aren't entitled to the ability to stream a game, you buy a game to play a game, while the company making the game owns all footage of it and can take down or not allow people to upload footage from their game.
Sorry you can't get your youtube allowance this week, why don't you play Gun Survivor 4 instead

But I like their reactions.

Chaos;child has actual gameplay too. A minigame will pick where you go and how the story will progress. Similar to Danganronpa.

I like VNs, but that's a risk they need to take. They're borderline not games, of course a lot of people won't pay full price for them.

It might teach them a lesson. I hope this spreads. I'll make posts.

Not that user, but fuck those games too
Block all streaming

This entire post gave me cancer. You literally, almost verbatim, just said you can't play video games unless someone is approving of you.

Not really approving? I don't care if people approve me or anything, I just want to play games with people.

The audience for this niche visual novel probably overlaps heavily with those who think LPs and streaming are cancer. Good luck with your complaints, I guess.

How the fuck do they plan on stopping you? Im pretty sure that as soon as you buy their game, you can do whatever the fuck you want to it legally, including streaming it all you want.

yeah I mean if I buy a movie or an audiobook I can stream it on twitch with no legal repercussions whatsoever. go for it OP.

The publishers own the footage. You buy the game to play the game, uploading footage of the game isn't mentioned, so publishers, if they want to, are well within their right to stop you from uploading footage of their product.

I never said I was a streamer, I just play my game along with the streamers so I can stop feeling so lonely. Plus its funny watching peoples reactions to things.

Fuck off, OP

Persona 5 proved that this isn't correct.

R;N *could* happen, but that all hinges on C;C's performance in the west. So far, PQube's team is showing that they do not want it to sell.

>announce a release for Q3
>delay it by a month
>release date for EU and NA are 11 days apart
>spoil the game in your promotions for the limited edition
>release an interview that suggests your translators don't give a rat's ass about making a good translation

>complaining that you have to actually PLAY a game you want to experience
VN or no, I shutter at the thought of such absurdity
how did people before YouTube handle such nonsense?

If I complain about a game I want to experience but don't want to play, I wouldn't of preordered the game.

This 100%. Plus they have gave so little effort into trying to sell this game that it's sad.

It's understandable why they would embargo a VN, but I'm gonna be a little sad about not being able to see the reactions people will have with every single twist in the game. Shit goes from 0-100 alot, and the reactions people could have are like icing on a cake.

I know EXACTLY what you mean, I mean the BOX scene alone is bad enough but the game just gets so much fucking more horrific as time goes on.

Don't forget:
>if you want the LE you gotta order it for a ridiculous price from another continent

Fuck PQube and fuck Rice Digital, but I want more sciADV games to be officially released in the west so I'm left with no other choice but to suck it up.

Sadly. Luckily enough for me, I'm from Europe so I don't have to pay extra.

>wouldnt of
Lmao
This whole thread screams underage millenial.

Welp, tough luck for you that I'm not underage huh?

Well unlike the S;Gs which I did not buy until they were on sale I have C;C on pre-order so I hope it does well enough to get other non-S;G entries.

Same here. I'm not actually preordering the Limited Edition from Rice Digital, I only was interested in the Art Book so I ordered the Limited Edition from my Local Game. Comes with the game and an art book.

Rice Digital version comes with a soundtrack and pins, stuff I'm not interested in since the soundtrack is online.

>Samefagging this hard

How would I even do that? and why? for what purpose?

Stream it anyway on a separate account. You just wanna show it right? Why are you listening to them? Are they your masters?

I never said I was streaming it, I'm so poor I had to beg on my birthday to get the game pre-ordered.

I was gonna watch someone stream it and play along side them. I mean, I have a phone I can take pictures of to prove I have the game when I get it so people can't say I'm just watching a stream and don't have the game myself.

There is literally no such thing as an underage millenial anymore.

Also, what the fuck are you even doing on Sup Forums if you're over the age of 30? Fuck off, gramps. Nobody wants to hear you whine about how the glory days are gone or listen to you nitpick over little shit.

The only people I know who actually talks about glory days are my parents, and there idea of glory days is going to prison and being beat as kids.

WTF, like, WTF.

Most people on Sup Forums claim to be 25-35 bro. There have been numerous polls

>another steins;gay that can't comprehend the idea that more than 1 person likes the sister entries

So glad Chiyo is going to phase you fuckers out by starting a new franchise.

>I was gonna watch someone stream it and play along side them.
why the fuck would you do that
what the fuck is the point
fuck this generation and its surrogate friends bullshit

Yeah, it's too bad the Chaos;Child anime was so...bad.

The VN is said to be better then S;G, so it would of completely wiped the floor with the Steins;Gay community who can't seem to accept that some anime and games are better.

I'd rather not be penalized in any way just cause some edgy rebel on an anonymous imageboard is telling me to stick it to the man.

Wait, are you actually an old man? yikes.

>25-35
>not within the millenial age range
Also:
>just says "there have been numerous polls" as if polls in this shithole mean anything and tries to back it up by saying "most of Sup Forums" like an idiot

I remember when people like you tried to tell me most of Sup Forums owns a Wii U because some poll said so.

are you genuinely autistic?

Says the one complaining about this generation like a damn old man?

To be fair, I understand PQube's decision on this shit.

The entire game is a story. That's all Visual Novels offer... a Story.
There's no gameplay, it's just CGs and voiced text. You can basically give away the entire game by streaming it and uploading it to youtube.

Watching the entire story from a stream or youtube is pretty much the same as pirating the game. You get the same full experience as someone who paid for the game. With shit like that, there's no reason to buy visual novels anymore.

>Yeah, it's too bad the Chaos;Child anime was so...bad.

play the VN. Same with Chaos;Head.

Nah man but I want to see streamers reactions!

no really
how autistic do you have to be to want to play a visual novel alongside a streamer
do you have no friends whatsoever? is that why you're using someone who gives zero shits about you as a surrogate?

>do what people did about Persona 5
Atlus caved on that? Sad, it was good to see "streamers" getting fucked for once. You're a faggot btw, OP.

I do understand in actuality, but for someone like me, this ends up...bad.

I am a person who can only play games or watch videos or anything like that if someone is doing it with me. Part of it is because I'm lonely, sure but also because I really enjoy people's reactions.

It's fun watching people's raw reactions to things like the twists and the...gore. So for someone like me who can only play a game if someone is reacting to it with me, not letting someone stream a game I wanna play is bad.

Nah, I got friends. None that are actually interested in VN's though, which are mainly the games I am interested in.

Starting to see the problem?

I hope this actually gets press so this fucking thing sells. Goddamn the marketing has been ranging from abysmal to nonexistent.

Yeah. Youre a massive faggot.
