I don't think I ever needed anything but sprinkles. I always tried to make all areas in the game have a golden flag on them, which meant repeating a LOT of stages and beating a shitload of monsters. I had more HP and MP sprinkles than I knew what to do with by the time I got to the final boss

I barely used sprinkles. I let my characters heal each other for the increased relationship boosts and eat snacks to increase the effectiveness of future snacks.
