the art direction isnt really polished but the game looks a lot more comfy than the ue4 market assets pubg uses.

Building is just a gimmick and not nessecary at all in the br mode.
The pickaxe can be useful for breaking through walls and tryhards will run around and build walls for cover in fights, but you can win without ever building or destroying anything.

That's how most people play. Besides, since the play area is shrinking there's no point in building bases at least not until the very end.

Occasionally you might need a ramp to reach a loot chest on higher level of the house etc.

I still haven't won a single game. I get top 10 solo or number 2 in squad with randoms pretty often but never number 1. Help.

Honestly it's pretty shitty of epic to make a rip-off like this when Pubg is already using their own engine

Tried squad during a f2p weekend, dropped it because of the same walking simulator reason.
Whenever I died had to run all the way back to the front for 5-10 minutes because team leader wasn't making any forward bases or whatever.

The game was neat and had cool teamplay but the walking killed it for me.

Yes. Its a slight disadvantage late game when someone is building a base in the center of the first and you have a field to run through, but otherwise its only for going up the mountain faster or looting the attic in some houses. You will hear a chest nearby, so the only way up alot of times is to build stairs inside and break the floor above.

The games are fast enough where bases aren't extremely common, only stairways up hills/mountain and some random walls.

SMG and Revolver are pure shit, pistol is garbage as is the pump action. AR ranges from ok to god depending on which one you get. white and green are super inaccurate. Bolt action and semi auto shotgun are both godlike.

I always found the battle royale hunger-games idea to be lacking, why are devs so obsessed with this, everytime I see something that does this, I think back to that god awful movie the Starving Games.
