Why do people seem to hate this game? I'm 10 hours in and enjoying it. I've never played an xcom game before so maybe thats why. It is repetitive and kind of shallow but the story is decent and the gameplay is ok.

I also enjoyed it. Then whole final area and ending are really rad.
im getting close to it I think. actually its next mission I think. pls no spoil.
Because you wear that dumbass sweater the whole game instead of the suit
yea that is kind of weird he cant change outfits but it doesnt bother me much
I feel like this game and the first Xcom feel a lot less fulfilling considering we lose in between Xcom EW and Xcom 2 anyways
I thought that game got cancelled. Feels like I never heard anything about it from when it was announced until this thread.
This was announced before the Xcom remake, right? Think most people were disappointed with it not being a proper Xcom.
I just really hated the shitty AI, especially your teammates and the way skills and shit worked.
>The whole time you were playing as an alien squid and Carter is actually a dumbass brute that becomes irrelevant in the final mission
Not sure how to feel
No actually this WAS the Xcom remake at first! Then Firaxis totally reworked it.
That was the initial FPS Horror/Action reboot before the fans got angry about it not being a Turn-Based Strat game. Then Fireaxis made the proper Turn-Based Strat game and people gave no more shits about the FPS, which had mutated into a squad based FPS ala Band of Brothers, then finally into the Mediocre TPS you see today.
It sucks because I like the first build of the idea, like a more down to earth (no pun intended) Destroy all Humans what with it being Men in Black, Cold War espionage, and the 1950s setting.
Much as I enjoyed Enemy Unknown and Enemy Within, and was so-so with XCOM 2, I kinda wish there was a XCOM like Enemy Unknown set in the 1950s.
Dude that was legit. It was the reason everything goes slow mo and shit. I thought it was cool.
I had no idea this game was a TPS until just now. I have an old TPS xcom game in my steam library I haven't touched, because I heard it's abysmal
Is he one of the most based characters in gaming?
>Just played this for the first time today despite buying it 2 weeks ago
>See this thread
Spooky
Also, is it me or are the FMVs in this game ugly as sin?
fuck you spoiler fag. if you dont delete your post im deleting the thread.
I liked it, though maybe that´s because I never really played any xcom games before it.
It had some really annoying things though.
>they give you way to little ammo, forcing you to run out of cover and almost getting yourself killed while looking for ammo
>your npcs are basically suicidal and you constantly have to hold them back from rushing the enemy head on like a drunk asshole
>the fights were getting so tedious in the last few hours
Hothead
Here is the series of videos to adequdatly describe the process of how the initial FPS XCOM Reboot, when it was going to be THE reboot, turned into the Bureau.
Build 1: Horror/Action

Build 2: Out with the Horror, in with the Brothers in Arms Squad Mechanics

Final Build: The Third Person Shooter Squad game.
That first video...wow...I, uh,...hoo-haa....
Yeah not too pretty, but for me the whole "Hunting Aliens in 1950s America while wee woo alien music plays and playing as a Men in Black" seems really fucking badass.
It's the one time I blame the fanboys for killing a cool idea.
who are you quoting
Judging from the gameplay videos, I'm geussing the gameplay is reminiscent of Valkyria Chronicles?
wtf, is this ass effect 4?
